Chef Mickeys buffet available for LUNCH!

I don't know if this is posted on here yet, but I thought I would let you all know...

Chef Mickeys is available for lunch buffet during free dining.

It is offered everyday from 12:20-3:00. It is mostly food like the dinner buffet, but also cold meats etc....

I just called and got in, there are lots of openings right now, but they will probably disappear quickly once the word is out!!

yes, you are right they are open for lunch. a cm told me the reason why they are opeining is due to the demand of the free dining.

We went for lunch last year, Labor Day weekend. We weren't on free dining, we just walked in and were seated. The food was excellent!

I think lunch is only offered during the free dining though.

I just called to schedule a lunch for 9/11, and the CM told me that lunch was only available for 8/26-9/8.

That is strange. The CM told me it was offered for all of free dining. Maybe try again.

i was making adrs a week ago for my late Sept trip and CM was an option for lunch. Didnt make the adr though, but just so you know it was offered.

I have reservations for September 25th for lunch so you may want to call back. I have my confirmation number and everything. I just don't know which characters are supposed to be there for lunch since they typically aren't open for lunch. Does anyone know?

I have a lunch ADR for Chef Mickey's at 2pm on August 22nd so it is definitely available before then.

I had originally booked Chef Mickey's for Lunch with the online system during late September, but I was surprised when I received my confirmation screen that it said in small print NO CHARACTERS???

So I called WDW-DINE and they couldn't see where it had characters in the system for the lunch hours. They said they were only doing lunch hours during the expanded Free Dining. But still, No characters?

I posted about this soon after, and many thought it was a mistake, that why would anyone go to Chef Mickey's for just food.

So I was confused, and still am, but decided that after all the really bad stuff I had read about Chef Mickey's to go elsewhere.

I tried just now to make a reservation for lunch in late October during our free dining trip but nothing came up. Maybe they aren't doing lunch during that time frame of free dining?

Also, this post starts out three years ago in 2007! I guess it got resurrected in a search about Chef Mickey's during free dining!

We had a lunch booked for Sept. 30 but when I got confirmation, I too was notified that there are no characters. I cancelled that and got Crystal Palace instead.

Good thing you noticed that! I think its really crappy on Disney's part to not have characters at lunch. I can only imagine the sadness and disappointment many people will feel when they find out all too late its no characters.

I do not think it was that way in years past when they did lunch during free dining.

Well, according to a sticky and the reservation site, there are characters during lunch. I just don't know if they have opened it up for lunch at the end of October or if they are already booked up. Has anyone going at the end of October/beg of November been able to get a lunch reservation?

I can't imagine going to Chef Mickeys without characters. I hope that they do have the characters during lunch.
