characters at resorts?

Has anyone ever seen any characters at any of the resorts?

Do you mean OUTSIDE of the character meals in the restaurants?

Yes outside of character meals .. such as in the lobby or by the pool.

I have been three times in the last 6 years. Never seen them there.

Aside from Chip and Dale at the Marshmallow roast at Ft. Wilderness, I've never seen Characters loose in the resorts.

The Deluxe resorts have them out during the winter holidays. We met Daisy & Uncle Scrooge at the Contemporary and Stitch at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The last time I saw characters at a resort was during Hurricane Wilma - since the parks were closed, characters came to the different resorts to give the kids some entertainment until the parks reopened. A nice touch.

On Christmas Eve, we got our pictures taken with Mickey & Minnie (dressed in their holiday outfits) next to the Christmas tree in the AKL lobby.

We got to take pictures with Goofy and Pluto at the Poly about four days before Christmas in 2010.

In 2009 we were at CR the first or second week of Dec and had Minnie and Mickey in front of the Christmas tree in the lobby.

About 10 years ago, the resorts had character meet and greets in their lobbies on certain mornings. I forget what it was called but it was when Disney decided to stop having extra magic mornings and try out the concept of character meets at the resort instead.

I know that in 2002 they were doing this. We were staying at Port Orleans Riverside then and would visit with various characters in the lobby. Not sure how long this lasted but that is the only visit that I remember this happening.

The only other time that we saw characters at our resort was in 2004. We were staying at Pop Century when Hurricane Jeanne cam through, extending our stay by a few days. Once the weather had calmed down and guests were allowed to move around the resort, they brought in a few characters to entertain the kids in the lobby.

Santa Goffy was at POFQ three years ago on Christmas morning!

Only on 9/11/01...they brought them in from the parks since the parks were closed.

This just made me laugh... characters on the "loose" like they've run away from the parks!
