As with anything, obviously decisions like these have many factors in play. But if you aren't worried about doing Character Dining with kids and are instead looking for some quality interaction, which CD would you recommend?

My hubby and I had the best interaction at Garden Grill. In the past I've also had amazing experiences at Tusker House in adult only groups. Though truth be told I've never had bad interactions at any character meal as just adults (which is the only way I've dined at Disney)

You may get more responses on restaurants board too.

My favorite was Crystal Palace breakfast, I just love the Winnie the Pooh characters. We've done Tusker house as well, but I barely remember it for some reason.

My wife and I had a great time at 1900PF. Tusker was the same for us also, non-memorable.

I have done it several times, but I do not enjoy it much. Except for Tusker House they were not very memorable. Characters were very rushed and clearly spend a lot more time at tables with children. 1900 Fare (dinner) and Akershus will definitely be skipped next time. The Princess Dinner in DLP was okay, but also not worth repeating.

Maybe it has to do with Face Characters vs. Fur Characters. Tusker House was amazing. But that was probably because we were the last shift in the restaurant and the characters were having a lot of fun by themselves. Probably happy to go home soon ;-)

To me it's not really worth it, while you do see several characters without lines or worry. Your pictures are usually filled with other people in the background.

Breakfast at the Crystal Palace. It has become a must-do for me and my adult nephew, who is my Disney travel buddy.

Our last trip was adult only and garden grill was the worst interaction of them all
Crt cp cm tusker house Akerhus and 1900 of were all great

One of my favorite character interaction stories came from an adults-only* character meal at 1900 Park Fare.

Mrs. Homie and I were at our table when Prince Charming and two mice (I don't remember their names) came by. One of the mice put her arm around me and made a big kissing sound. I asked the mouse, "There's a girl in there, right?" The mouse shook her head "Yes," and I could hear, from inside the costume, the sound of the actress trying - and failing - to stifle a laugh.

Now it's my mission to make characters break character.

Anyway, all of my character meals have been adults-only, since Mrs. Homie and I don't have kids. I have treasured every experience and never had any problems. WDW Cast Members make sure adults traveling without kids have just as much fun and magic as families do.

I've done a couple of fun character meals without kids. 1900 Park Fare was great. My friend asked Alice to record a video for her best friend's birthday and Alice really got into it, getting the Mad Hatter involved and everything!

I also loved Crystal Palace. Pooh must know I love him, because he was at my table like three times!

Thank you all for the feedback! Right now I am leaning towards Crystal Palace. I love me some Tigger, but this is bf's first trip to Disney World as an adult so I don't want it to be too cheesy, and I worry without the face characters to give that more vocal interaction it might be. We might skip altogether. Dunno!

Crystal Palace is a lot of fun - it's quickly turning into one of our must-dos. I would love seeing how they interact with no kids at the table. 1900 breakfast or dinner would be fun if you want face characters (and a bonus for you, Tigger is almost always at breakfast). Your bf could get interaction with the Mad Hatter in the morning (he's consistently funny) or the stepsisters at night (hilarious!).

If your aim is to make BF happy, ask his opinion.

And if you decide to go for face characters, it would depend on the level of craziness / attention your BF can handle. If he does well with craziness, do 1900 Fare in the morning, if he doesn't mind the stepsisters fighting over him as their future husband (most likely the conversation would go in that direction, is he available, is he rich, does he have a castle etc.), go to 1900 Fare in the evening. And if he likes looking at pretty girls, go to a princess dinner at Akershus or CRT. ;-)

I do one character meal each trip, usually solo, and don't recall any bad experiences but my best have been at Garden Grille. The layout of GG feels more intimate whereas CP is large and open and can be very loud and hectic.

I think a lot of it depends on the cues you give to your waitperson and/or the character handlers. If you indicate you're really there for the meal you'll get a quick hello and that's about all. If you walk in an announce that you've been waiting all your life to meet Piglet, you're more likely to get that level of interaction.

Food+character wise, I liked Garden Grove at the Swan/Dolphin. The food is very good! Although they usually have only two characters, the intimacy of the place lends itself to better character interaction. Plus, the whole place is really pretty.

We've gone to Garden Grill and Crystal Palace without kids. Garden Grill is the absolute character interactions we've ever experienced in Disney! It is favorite character dinner.. we love the food and atmosphere also! CP is also a favorite of ours, but for breakfast. We also had really great interactions at Akershus for breakfast.

My partner and I have ADR's for Akershus and CM in August. One thing I keep wondering about-- we're doing these 100 percent to get a few photos with characters. Will anyone take our photo for us?

Often your server or the character handler will offer... Other nearby tables will often jump in and offer to take photos of you together too if no one else is available.

I've always enjoyed the character meal at Cape May. Especially if you have an early reservation, you will have lots of character interaction. And they all look so cute in their beach outfits.

My sister and I, both adults, absolutely loved dinner at the Crystal Palace. Pooh & the gang were great with guests of all ages.
