Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude-April 11-19, 2014-Day 9-Part 3 (updtd 6/29)

Hi Susan :goodvibes Just getting caught up! Love all of your photos of the Garden Festival. I really need to get down there during that time to see it in person, but the spring crowds scare me away lol. Do you have an Etsy store by any chance? I bet you could sell all your sewing creations for a pretty penny. Looking forward to next update. Going through Disney withdrawal bad. Oh, and that was me who sent you the friend request on FB. -Amanda :cutie:

Hey Amanda!! I just love Disney during that time of year. Yes, it is crowded, but the crowds never seem to really bother us much. Maybe because we expect it to be crowded. I just love the weather during that time.

I have an Etsy store set up. but I am getting plenty of traffic on facebook and that is working really well for me right now. Here is a link to my page.

Slowly getting caught up since I go back.

Love the parade pics.

BOG is OK for lunch but really have no interest for dinner. Then again I may not go back for lunch anytime soon. The décor is nice just not my favorite restaurant.

I must be the only person who doesn't like down time or sleeping in. I am always on the go so just sitting drives me insane.

Garden Grill always smells amazing but another place not on my radar. Maybe one day. I think all teenage boys must go through the DO NOT take my picture phase. My grandson is the same way.

I can understand being annoyed that the child hit you and climbed on the scooter. That would have irritated me but for the most part I give kids some leeway. Possibly because I start to miss my grandkids after one day.

Think I am caught up now.

Oh that is right. How was your trip? Awesome, I hope.

That new parade is awesome. Did you get to see it?

Yeah - I hear ya. I like the desserts, but I am not wild about the food, really.

We just need our rest. Everyone is happier if we rest some.

He is just so cute. Momma needs photos!!

I can usually tune out a meltdown if it isn't my kid, but I draw the line whne they get physical. She got away from me after I yelled at her.

Think I am caught up now.

YAY!! I need to do another update. I have been so busy when sewing and end of the school year stuff with the kids. Maybe I can type a quick one tonight.

Day 6 – Part Three

After dinner at Garden Grill, I needed to go over to France and get my favorite drink. Here’s a photo in case you forgot.

After that, we explored Canada. I love the waterfall.

After that, DD wanted to play on the playground again. So we let her do that.

DS wanted to head back, so we let him ride the bus back to OKW. He called us when he got there safely.

After that, we headed had a FP for Test Track and DH took photos on the way.

Oh, I forgot DD had to play on this playground, too.

It was more for little kids, so she liked the other one better.

Then we rode Test Track

and headed back to OKW to settle in for the night.

The trip was great. Had a few ups and downs but what trip doesn't? Working on photos and hope to stat a TR soon. Think I finally have a title.

I did get to see the parade. And then a cliff hanger for you - how did I get to be in the parade?

Teen age boys are so much fun. Jay only lets me get pictures when he is playing ball. Other than that I get a hand or a hat.

I think I feel the same way as you do about melt downs. I usually feel sorry for the child because the parent is not paying attention to what the little one needs but do not touch me or climb on me. I am not a jungle gym. When it comes to my grandkids however, a whole new ball game. I do pay attention and I will not tolerate bad manners or behavior. Thankfully I almost never experience it from any of them.

Hannah looks like she was having a lot of fun on the playgrounds. I love this age. They want to be more grown up but then the little girl comes out. Going through it with my oldest granddaughter.

I didn't get to try your favorite drink. Lines were too long and I didn't feel like waiting.

It stopped in just as we were getting to the Rome scene. It then started back up and we continued the rest of the ride in silence. It was lame. But, what can ya do?
A dark ride with no soundtrack playing... Yeah, I don't think lame even begins to describe it. :rotfl2::lmao:

What a brat.
Wow... How can you be so oblivious about where your kids are in a crowded place like that?

After that, we had an ADR at Garden Grill.
I'm glad you had good things to say about it. I'm really hoping to try to book a Candlelight Processional package here for our December trip.

For dessert, there were these for the kids.
Both desserts look good, but as someone with an unhealthy addiction to chocolate, I think I'd actually prefer the kids' dessert.

And this is the best dessert option. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear that story

Tough to get a decent photo

This girl was horrible. I couldn't believe she actually HIT me.

I'm not going to push her to grow up. She can stay a little girl as long as she wants.

I didn't get to try your favorite drink. Lines were too long and I didn't feel like waiting.

I would have waited - LOL

A dark ride with no soundtrack playing... Yeah, I don't think lame even begins to describe it. :rotfl2::lmao:

It was super lame-o

Wow... How can you be so oblivious about where your kids are in a crowded place like that?

I still can't believe she actually HIT me.

We like it there and they serve food our picky eaters like

Both desserts look good, but as someone with an unhealthy addiction to chocolate, I think I'd actually prefer the kids' dessert.

I agree, the kids really liked those. The berry cobbler was really good though.

And this is the best dessert option. :thumbsup2

Day 7 – Part One

This was another “sleep in” day for us. DH and I got up around 9 AM and went up to Olivia’s for breakfast. We got the same thing we got the previous day.

We brought back some waffles for DD.

And a rice crispie treat

We just laid around all morning and I did some laundry and straightened up some. In general, we got some good old relaxing in.

Around lunch time, we went to Good’s to go

DS got Chicken and french fries.

DH and I shared this ham and cheese sandwich.

And some key lime pie

DD got some pizza

And another rice crispie treat for her dessert.

Around 3:30 PM, we headed over to Magic Kingdom. We were planning on staying for the fireworks on this day.

It was a little dreary on this day, but we didn’t have any trouble with the rain. Nothing like the previous deluge we experienced.

DD was anxious to try her “Glow with the Show” ears during the castle show and firewaorks later that day.

We got there just as the parade was coming around the corner. So we stayed to watch since we were pretty much stuck there anyway. I love this new parade!!

At my photo limit, so I will update tomorrow.

Your update a day always gets me when I go on vacation. I fall hopelessly behind. :lmao:

Gotta love lazy days and lazy mornings. I like to just be able to chill and do nothing on vacation sometimes. Then I can actually say it was kind of like a vacation. Haha.

Still haven't caught FoF, so it's on my list. The timing was just all off for us in May. It's beautiful though from everything I've seen.

I will have to try this just relaxing on vacation someday. I am on the go so much that I have a hard time sitting still. I was at FOUR ball games today. Went to 3 dollar stores looking for little things for the church picnic. Then I came home and made "Dirt", bean salad and fruit salsa. Can I go back to Disney now. :lmao:

I loved the parade and you got the dragon breathing fire. Very cool. I saw it from a distance as I wound up stuck in the crowd at the front of Main Street.

I've dreamed about the parade and dreamed about Mickey waffles last night so I'm thinking it's time for our trip. :) Ready!

I mentioned the food sharing to DH and hoping it'll work for us too, Our last 3 trips, we've had free dining so it'll be different paying OOP for everything.

A dreary day at Disney is better than a dreary day in SC, right? :) I'm hoping it doesn't rain a lot on our trip- as it is short as it is. Just nervous bc we've never been during summer.

Yay! you got to see the parade again. I love that parade so much.
A nice relaxing morning. I need to learn how to do that more!

Love the parade pictures!

We really enjoyed Olivia's for breakfast when we were there a few weeks ago. They had some interesting and tasty entrees!

Your DD must really like her Rice Krispy treats! :rotfl2:

Great timing on your arrival. Always great to just walk up to a good view of a parade without any need for prior planning or waiting! :thumbsup2

Your update a day always gets me when I go on vacation. I fall hopelessly behind. :lmao:

I haven't been updating as often as I would like. I have been so busy with work, sewing and kids stuff, that I only get an update every couple of days. And I am hopelessly behind on other people's TRs.

Gotta love lazy days and lazy mornings. I like to just be able to chill and do nothing on vacation sometimes. Then I can actually say it was kind of like a vacation. Haha.

I find that my family and even I do meed the sleep in days on a trip. It just works better for su if we actually rest some.

Maybe you can see it in November!!

I know, right? It is hard to leave the Disney bubble.

I loved the parade and you got the dragon breathing fire. Very cool. I saw it from a distance as I wound up stuck in the crowd at the front of Main Street.

DH took all of those photos. There was a lady that kept moving her phone in front of my face to take video and photos. I finally told her that was "not cool and to please stop." She did.

I've dreamed about the parade and dreamed about Mickey waffles last night so I'm thinking it's time for our trip. :) Ready!

I know is it soon - When?? Mmmmm - Mickey waffles.

I mentioned the food sharing to DH and hoping it'll work for us too, Our last 3 trips, we've had free dining so it'll be different paying OOP for everything.

You definitely need to share. It works really well for us and if you are paying OOP, it saves tons of money. And there is still plenty to eat.

A dreary day at Disney is better than a dreary day in SC, right? :) I'm hoping it doesn't rain a lot on our trip- as it is short as it is. Just nervous bc we've never been during summer.

True. I would rather have a rainy day in Disney for sure. The rain never lasted all day. Kind of like home. The big storms come and go. Just pack some ponchos!!

Yay! you got to see the parade again. I love that parade so much.
A nice relaxing morning. I need to learn how to do that more!

That parade is AWESOME !!!

Love the parade pictures!

We really enjoyed Olivia's for breakfast when we were there a few weeks ago. They had some interesting and tasty entrees!

We did as well. Loved the breakfast there. It helped that kids were more interested in sleep and we got to eat alone.

Your DD must really like her Rice Krispy treats! :rotfl2:

What is not to like??? LOL

Great timing on your arrival. Always great to just walk up to a good view of a parade without any need for prior planning or waiting! :thumbsup2

It worked out for us!! It isn't like were going to get to go anywhere anyway. We were pretty much stuck until the parade passed.

just caught up on your trip report and really enjoying it.

YAY !! Going to type another update now.

We leave next Thursday night to drive halfway to Jax overnight & will be back Monday!! Can't wait!!!

Day 7 – Part Two

At this point, we met up with some friends and talked to them while DH took DD over to Tom Sawyer’s island.

Then we said good bye to our friends as it was time for our BTMRR FP’s.

We rode that, and headed over to the shooting gallery. DS loves to do this.

After that, we got some ice cream at Sunshine Terrace.

DD got a swirl

And DH and I shared a root beer float.

DS had wandered over to Space Mountain to get a ride on that.

We had some time to kill before our next FP, so we decided to ride the Liberty Bell. It has been several years since we rode this. It was time revisit it.

Views from the boat.

At this point DS was on the train again. We looked to see if we could see him, but couldn’t.

After that, we had FP’s for POTC. Which you don’t normally need, but this is Spring Break people. So we were glad to have them. DS met back up with us to ride.

Now I have another little story about a little girl who was VERY upset. She was with a family in front of us. There was a mother and three older siblings. She was a very cute little girl all dressed up in her Bibbity Bobbity Boutique outfit. She had LOTS of questions about the ride. As we got closer to it being our turn, she decided that NOPE she wasn’t riding. No pleading or cajoling from her family was gonna change it. When it became our turn, that is when the full on meltdown started. But the mother was determined to drag this kid on the ride. It go to the point where she was pulling he on the ride and the kid was hanging on to the rail of the loading dock for dear life and screaming her head off. I turned to the cast member to see what they were going to do. Nothing. My own family is trying to get me to get in the boat, but there was NO WAY I was getting on the boat with a screaming kid. I finally tuned to the mother and looked her incredulously. And thank goodness – she finally gave in – and she got off the boat and left. One of her older siblings turned to me and laughed. “You got lucky there.” He said. I laughed back and said “I know.”

And then there was a click and a flash behind us. UGH. I turned and there was lady taking flash photos. Her son said, “mom, you can’t take picutres.” She said asked why and he said. “because it is rude.” And she says, “no it isn’t.” And I said …”YES, it is. If you take photos, then all we can see is the flash in the dark.” So she apologized and put the camera down. Another crisis averted. We got to enjoy the ride in peace and quiet and with no flash photography. Success!!
