Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude-April 11-19, 2014-Day 9-Part 3 (updtd 6/29)

We haven't ridden the Liberty Belle in quite awhile. It's popped up on a few trip reports and on my list for the next trip. I wish they had seating on that boat, as it would be much more relaxing.

I find it really sweet that your DS likes to ride the train. My grandfather was an engineer for the railroad and I have a fondness for trains.

Smart move waiting for the screaming kid to get off your boat!

I have said things to people taking flash pictures too. It drives me mad. I swear they act like they don't understand english when I tell them though.

They have benches. You just have to get on soon enough to snag one.

He has always loved trains. I could have paid my mortgage for a year with all of the Thomas the Train stuff we had at one point. My great Grandfather worked for the railroad all his life.

I was not getting on the boat with that screaming kid. What is wrong with people?

I have said things to people taking flash pictures too. It drives me mad. I swear they act like they don't understand english when I tell them though.

I always say something. They often cannot speak English.

Glad the POTC crises was diverted! That wouldnt have been fun at all.. :(

I have been trying to find somewhere to stay next Sunday night, since we decided to stay the extra night and OKW has a big discount... What makes the room a studio? Is there any privacy? I might be ready for a break from MIL since she has never traveled with us.. LOL

No. It would not. I will never understand why parents want to drag their kids on a ride when they are screaming an crying and hanging on the rail of the loading dock for dear life. I also can't understand why the CM couldn't just say - "hey lady, I'm going to have to ask you to please take your child outside."

A studio is NOT private at all. It is like a regular hotel room with a mini-fridge and a microwave. I would recommend a one bedroom.

Oh okay.. I see... Well, I guess we won't do that then.. Maybe a future trip! I think I am going to book either POP or All Star Sports, just to save some money since it's just for one night... It's been a while since we have stayed at a value and its always nice to save some $! I need to figure it out bc the room discount offer ends today.

Day 7 – Part Three

After averting a screaming child crisis, and riding and quiet and flash free POTC, It was getting close to dinner time, but we still had some time to kill. DD wanted to ride Stitch, so we headed over to Tomorrowland.

DS and I waited for them

I tried to sneak some photos of him

And then we had just enough time for the blue train

And then it was time for dinner. We had ADR’s at the Plaza at 7:10 PM. My plan was to just be finished with dinner by the time the castle show was going to start and then watch fireworks. This worked out really well since it took a little while to seat us.

More sneak photos of the elusive DS

DD ordered Chicken and French Fries

I know … it is a shocker.

DH got a burger.

DS got one, too.

And I got a Reuben

For dessert

DH and I had cheesecake

DD got mint chocolate chip ice cream

And DS got a root beer float

We enjoyed our dinner here. It was just your regular burgers and things, but everyone liked it so we will go back. The fries are awesome!!

After that, we found a good spot to watch the castle show and fireworks. DD used her glow with the show ears and they worked OK. We didn’t take photos of the castle show of or the fireworks. We just wanted to enjoy it. And we did. The castle show was amazing and DD really liked the addition for the Frozen stuff. Her ears turned blue and white when the Frozen section came on. It was really cool.

After that, we headed out with the hordes and headed back to the room. Another successful Disney day!!

Nice dinner. Looks like the same thing Claire gets 50% of the time...the other 50% is pizza. :rotfl2:

I just found your report and read all the way through. OKW is our home resort, and we love it there. Interestingly, as I'm looking through your parade photos, I recognize a friend of ours. He's the "parade monitor" in the Ariel float pic. He works part time on Main Street. Funny!

I haven't done the shooting gallery in years!

Oh no, full on meltdown. That stinks! There's a line I think, between a kid crying not wanting to go on and then a full blown meltdown. Sometimes you just have to walk away.

I've never understood the desire to use the flash in the dark anyway. It completely ruins the picture in the dark ride too!

The Plaza is on my list for my Mom's and my New Year's trip!

It shocks me that so many people can't figure out how to turn off their flash. Ugh! I can tolerate some inappropriate flash pictures, but POC is not the place.

I really enjoy the plaza. the food is basic but tasty and its so cute in there. Great location for walking out to see the fireworks. :thumbsup2

The POTC flash photography enforcer! :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

The morning looks like a lot of fun. I really need to take some time to ride the Liberty Bell at some point. And I'm glad you were able to avert some crisis situations at pirates.

The lunch at the Plaza looks good as well. I know it seems to be very popular for a place that is mostly the basic theme park food that people tend to complain about. :lmao: I'm always up for a good burger and some ice cream though. :thumbsup2

Hey :welcome: Thanks so much for reading along!! Cool that I got a photo of your friend.

DH and the kids love it.

And yet her mother was trying to DRAG her onto the ride. I don't even know what she was thinking. That little princess was having NONE of it.

I've never understood the desire to use the flash in the dark anyway. It completely ruins the picture in the dark ride too!

People are clueless.

The Plaza is on my list for my Mom's and my New Year's trip!

It is basic American soda shop food, but we always enjoy it

What I can't believe is that they don't realize how rude it is to everyone else.

We timed that meal perfectly.

The POTC flash photography enforcer! :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Yep. That is me. LOL. Hey, someone has to do it.

The morning looks like a lot of fun. I really need to take some time to ride the Liberty Bell at some point. And I'm glad you were able to avert some crisis situations at pirates.

I really enjoyed the boat ride. A good place to rest a bit and get away from the crowd for a few minutes.

The lunch at the Plaza looks good as well. I know it seems to be very popular for a place that is mostly the basic theme park food that people tend to complain about. :lmao: I'm always up for a good burger and some ice cream though. :thumbsup2

The Plaza is the place for that for sure!!

Day 8 – Part 1

After sleeping in for two days, I was ready to get up early and hit the parks, so we got up around 8 AM and headed to Animal Kingdom.

DD wanted to ride Dinosaur, so we headed over there

and it was down, so DS and I went in search of a Monster drink for him while DH and DD ride Triceratop Spin.

Then we went back to check on Dinosaur and it was running, so DH and DD rode while DS and I waited.

DD wanted to ride again, so DS and I went over to look at the tigers while they rode Dinosaur a couple more times. There wasn’t a line for it, so why not?

DS loves the tigers. I think they are so beautiful.

After that, DH and DD met up with us so we could ride the safari together. We had FP’s for this, but there wasn’t a line. Yes – this was Spring Break.
DH took animal photos.

After that, DD said she was brave enough to try and ride Expedition Everest. So we headed over there.

Caught up again.

I have gone with kids that want nothing to do with a ride. Sometimes they give in and sometimes nothing calms them. Time to just walk away and do something else. The flash photography annoys me but I never say anything. I took a picture on POC with flash totally by accident, new camera and I forgot to turn I off. I did apologize to the one other person on the boat. Seriously though the pics are odd when they have flash. I challenge myself on dark rides.

I did ride Great Movie Ride with a woman who flashed away even as the CM kept saying NO FLASH. I thought I was going to be blind by the end of the ride. It was the first time I actually said anything.

I haven't done the Liberty Belle in a few trips. I'm the only one that really likes it.

How cool about your great grandfather and trains. My DH loves trains and I tried to surprise him with the steam engine tour last trip. My FIL was a foreman for Reading Railroad. I actually have a few of his union cards dating back to the late 1930's.

AK id probably one of my favorite parks. Nice that the crowds weren't too bad. I may be going down during Spring Break next year depending on the bands at the Flower Power concerts.

It looks like your spring break week was less busy than mine...it was crazy that week we were there!!!!

Gotta love early mornings at the Animal Kingdom. It just seems to much more laid back there early in the morning.

Wow! DD was going to brave Everest!? Go girl!

No wait for the safari!? Wow! You went on the right day!

Your DH captured some great animal shots. I love the lions on the rocks photos. Very Lion King!

Great start to the Animal Kingdom day. I hope the crowd level stayed that way for you!
