Casey Anthony TRIAL thread #2

Oh wow. Sorry for the wrong info. I just googled and saw that pic with the blue Disney bag (it looked like) and thought it was one of the ones they showed today. I even saw the black garbage bag in the photo. :confused3

No problem. I just spend a LOT of time in the woods, and I know what items look like after a week, a month, a couple months......

And that looked way wrong. :rotfl:

I had first assumed Casey chloroformed Caylee, taped her mouth, and she accidentally died.

BUT, now I've got questions. It makes NO SENSE to put tape in your childs hair if you are planning on waking her up after you are done partying.

:confused3

So, tape had to have come after death, but then WHY even bother with the tape unless she was trying to create an alibi.

I believe that's exactly what she was trying to do. She had watched the movie Untraceable with Tony and the kidnapped guy in the movie was taped up that way.

Question for the experts. :) What really happened (that we know of) with Roy Kronk? What was the timeline for his calls, and what did he report when he first called. A skull? And no one responded? :confused3 It just sounds so ridiculous. Also, does he have any skeletons that are going to come out in court? (like a police record etc.) I sure hope he has a clean record. Thanks!

ETA: Oh wow, I just reread and that "skeleton" reference was unintentional. But I don't know what other word to use. Sorry.

Roy Kronk has a bit of a past. His ex-wife has accused him of abuse. He is estranged from his children. His ex made a big deal about it on the local news that he is crazy about duct tape.

Now, I don't know that any of this has anything to do with the case, but I can see why the defense doesn't want him to open up things that could prove difficult.

It will be interesting to see how they spin the fact that he supposedly found the body weeks before and, for some reason, LE couldn't seem to see it when he directed them to it. His son has claimed that he called to brag about finding the body some time prior to LE responding to it.

The whole thing is just really weird. I don't know that Kronk played a part in the crime, but I wouldn't want him hanging around my neighborhood. Creepy!

I always heard that it was ALL the way around, but I think it was Beth Karas who said that she had thought that too, but that it doesn't, in that it doesn't meet in the back, but that it did attach to her hair on both sides. How far to the back, I don't know. Watching testimony now.
Repeating.

Still watching testimony. From what I'm getting from this medical examiner, it wasn't so much the duct tape keeping the mandible attached to the skull...it was plant and root growth intertwined with the skull and the hair matt. Which would go to the state's case that the body had been there for a long time. Had the body begun to decompose much before being placed there, then there would have been separation.

Also, it's my understanding that the state is saying that the duct tape was the "murder weapon". It was not just a case of taping her mouth to keep her quiet...that the tape, being placed so far around her head and in her hair was never meant to be removed. Since there's no reason to place tape across the mouth of a dead person, and since it was never meant to be taken off (or the person would have been more careful about getting it on the hair), it was premeditated and murder.

This is yet another example of how we know that the Opening Statement was bunk.

Had this happened in the early AM on the 16th as the Defense claims she would've been in her jammies because Cindy would've seen to it the night of the 15th.

Caylee died the evening of the 16th. Casey got invited to Tony's to watch movies and Casey just about blew up her phone trying to get someone to take the baby. Heck she called Cindy, George, Amy and even her ex Jesse Grund. But noone was available.

I think she gave her something to knock her out and put her in the trunk and flitted off to meet Tony for 4pm. She got so into getting some she didn't remember about Caylee till 11:30am the next morning. By then it was too late.

This is the first time the neighbor sees her back her car into the garage. This is the first time ever that Casey has almost 11 hours where she doesn't talk on the phone.

She has lots of time to try to figure out what to do. She had watched Untraceable the night before and in that movie a guy is kidnapped and his whole mouth is duct taped clear around his head. I think that's where she got the idea to tape Caylee up that way.

I think this is an excellent theory. The questions left are whether Casey intended to give her enough chloroform to kill her, or whether she accidentally gave her enough chloroform to kill her, or whether the chloroform didn't kill her and she suffocated in the trunk. Then, once she duct taped her body at home in the garage, what did she do the body? Did she leave it in the trunk for a while (seems to me she did, otherwise there would not have been the smell)? When did she put it in the woods?

Ok.. I asked this earlier, and I am still dying to know LOL!!
I have missed most of this trial. What I am wondering is is if Casey says she found Caylee in the pool dead, and Kronk moved the body. Have they said what Casey did with the body after she found her dead?

It's the prosecution that might have an issue with the Roy Kronk involvement, not the defense. The defense is going to run with it.

ok, for those asking about the duct tape. Just went and checked Websleuths. There are 3 pieces of tape measuring 9.75", 7.5" and 8.75". The pictures they showed today made the tape look like it was in a circular shape and could have been wrapped around the head. I think its that the pieces were long enough that almost met up in the back. Those pieces are long for a baby like Caylee. That's just awful and chilling.

As I watched KC today, I also wondered if some of the reality of what she did began to sink in. Caylee forever gone so that she could spend time with a boyfriend and party. The world irrevocably changed due to her selfishness.

I wished that she had been required to look at the pictures and that they would haunt her.

I would be amazed if her emotion was sadness for Caylee rather than herself. If only that were possible. It would be a real transformation for her. How likely is it?

For just a couple of seconds she had that oh my God look on her face. It was probably more for herself. I don't think she ever loved Caylee. She was a burden to her. From day one, I always believed she murdered her out of jealousy and nothing more. She was no longer the "queen" in her parents eye. She could have given custody to her parents, probably didn't out of spite. I really believe it was jealousy. And I hope she rots in prison, I would rather she not get the death sentence.

I think it was accidental. I think she just wanted her out of the way for a little while so she could hang with Tony. Then movies turned into going at it all night. She couldn't very well get up and go to her trunk to check on her as she was supposed to be with the nanny. So I think even if she remembered her at some point during the night she probably figured she was sleeping given the hour.

They sleep till Tony has his first class and she leaves. Which is when she finds Caylee dead.

She knows she can't go home because George is there so she does ??? till he leaves for work which is when the neighbor sees her car backed into the garage. I think this is when she takes Caylee out and brings her to the backyard thinking she can play it off as an accident but soon realizes she can't and moves her back into the trunk.

She texts Tony probably telling him she's having issues with her car and asks to borrow his Jeep which he lets her do. I think he picks her up from someplace.

By now she knows she can't go back home and I think is hatching her plan as well as trying to figure out where she can live.

I believe she kept Caylee in her trunk till after dark on the night of the 18th.

No the defense never gave any indication of what they think happened to Caylee after she drowned in the pool... what happened to the body, where it went, all a big mystery from opening statements... course not much else was left as a mystery in their minds....

But didn't Tony testify that he skipped school the next day because they spent the day in bed

Sorry for some reason my post messed up this is in reply to irish

For those that think Casey drugged Caylee and put her in the trunk to keep her out of the way temporarily so she could spend time with Tony/friends...

It was JUNE in FLORIDA. I've been to Florida in March, April and May, and it can be VERY hot. I just can't believe that Casey would think that she could keep a child for ANY length of time in the trunk of a car and not put her in serious danger.

I believe he also said he may have had online classes. Plus she called her ex Ricardo early on this day so I assumed she wasn't with Tony because I can't see that being received well.

Add to that a couple of minutes after hanging up with Ricardo she tries to call Tony...getting no answer she calls his roommate Clint and gets no answer there either. So they probably spent the morning in bed but they didn't stay there the whole day.

I found this online. Was it verified that Cindy really wrote it?

July 3 – Casey's mother, Cindy Anthony, allegedly posts the following message* to her MySpace blog:

Subject: My Caylee is missing
Current mood: Distraught

"She came into my life unexspectedly, just as she has left me. This precious little angel from above gave me strength and unconditional love. Now she is gone and I don’t know why. All I am guilty of is loving her and providing her a safe home. Jealousy has taken her away. Jealousy from the one person that should be thankfull for all of the love and support given to her. A mother’s love is deep, however there are limits when one is betrayed by the one she loved and trusted the most. A daughter comes to her mother for support when she is pregnant, the mother says without hesitation it will be ok. And it was. But then the lies and betrayal began. First it seemed harmless, ah, love is blind. A mother will look for the good in her child and give them a chance to change. This mother gave chance after chance for her daughter to change, but instead more lies more betrayal. What does the mother get for giving her daughter all of these chances? A broken heart. The daughter who stole money, lots of money, leaves without warning and does not let her mother now speak to the baby that her mother raised, fed, clothed, sheltered, paid her medical bills, etc. Instead tells her friends that her mother is controlling her life and she needs her space. No money, no future. Where did she go? Who is now watching out for the little angel?" [sic throughout].

I agree! It gets HOT here! I don't think she would not know its dangerous.

Yep. I also think she said Lee helped her set it up as she knew nothing about MySpace. She also mentioned she didn't realize it would be public, she thought it was just a personal blog

It was 75 degrees outside on that night. Clear with a nice breeze though on the muggy side. She probably didn't put much stock into the trunk temperature
