Holy Moses!

They did say they had some extra evidence. That would be very hard to cross examine and reasonable doubt that one away.

You know, I swore the other day when I saw pics of the trunk (and they did it as a black and white infrared image) that it looked like an outline of a body.

And if one were to believe Baez, George also knew she was dead the entire time. Are they going to go into this further, or since George isn't on trial do they just say it and then move on to create 'doubt'? I'm really confused about that, and I can't figure out if George and Cindy are on Casey's side or not. I dothink they are all bit off.

Did they all know she was dead, was it just George and Casey or did her parents (at least initially) believe the missing story?

That's the kind of stuff I want to know.

Going based on my memory of reporting back then including the release of videos of questioning of Casey, Cindy and George and including jail house videos--

This is my theory on what they "knew".

I think they had a "feeling" as things came to light. When they didn't see Caylee in the trunk--there was relief. They have believed Casey's lies for so long, that when she began lying about Caylee--they had a feeling something bad happened, but as long as they believed Casey--then they held out hope.

But during the police investigation process--they went through many possible scenarios. When they did not pan out or materialize, I think they went with the Nanny theory.

So I don't think it was a cover up. I think they expected the worst and hoped for the best and nothing more.

Holy Moly, Baez just told George A that Mr. Ashton couldn't help him. So basically, stop looking at the state attorney for help to answer the questions...

If Baez really believes Casey and that is why he is going after George, he's a fool. If he doesn't believe her and is going after George in this way to create doubt, he's an a$$

I tweeted, "Can a hoarde of #zombies PLEASE bust into the #CaseyAnthony courtroom? Wanna prove that Jose has no braaaaains."

I think that they had a hard time believing that Casey did this. They always believed her blindly. But I do think Cindy impeded the investigation and did many things to avoid the cops from looking at casey even though, deep down, she KNEW Casey had something to do with it.

I have sent a letter to someone within a few miles of my house and sent my mom that lives 900 miles away a letter on the same day and my mom has received her letter first on multiple occasions. Just because the letter is only being sent a mile away doesn't mean it will arrive quickly. I would have answered that it SHOULD only take a few days.

That's what I'm saying. You generally have an idea how long it takes to get mail. If you live in a city vs country rr# route. But he kept saying I don't know

It's ok to say 3 or 4 days but we don't use that door and don't check for mail every day

Plus wasn't it taped to the door and not actually in the mail box?

My friends never used their front door So if someone taped a not to it - it would go unnoticed for ages

I know JB asked this of George, but am I the only one who thinks it odd that they got notice of the car being towed and didn't call Casey asap to find out what had happened? I know her history of running out of gas and stealing but my parents were control freaks and would have called me screaming -even if just to leave a v/mail.

:thumbsup2

Regardless of what we generally know about our mail--it isn't his burden to know.

I know generally how mail is supposed to be handled for how long to get from Point A to Point B--but I am not in control of what actually occurs.

I love how the state Attorney took down Baez's calendars.:lmao:

Like...I am going to ask you about what he said, so let me just get these out of the way.:lmao:

I am really starting to feel for George. I understand them calling him so many times but it has to be taken a toll on this man. I would break down if I was up there talking about my dead granddaughter and where she might have died... I don't know how he is still standing. I saw him give a big breath when he just got down and for some reason that just made me so sad for him.

I was just thinking the same thing the last few minutes of his testimony and then leaving the stand... I wouldn't have the strength required to keep at it day after day... It's got to take a terrible toll....

I think he might be implying that George ignored the notice and took his time with it because he didn't want the car found?

Probably this :) I do hope some law school uses the Baez tapes as what NOT to do

As far as the mail taking so long, I think that they actually pick up their mail down the street at one of those large central community mailboxes with separate postal boxes for a number of houses. So they wouldn't be reaching out the front door to get their mail out of a box daily and if they don't use their front door much, they probably wouldn't see a postal notice there right away - now if the postman would have put it inside their mailbox instead of on the door it probably would have been seen earlier.

But HOW have these people been "cut slack"?
Casey and her family involved the media over a missing child. When her web of lies unraveled, of course people were going to naturally be more interested than in people who were caught pretty quickly and whose family doesn't mount a media campaign to interfere with the process.

Just because Casey is big news, doesn't make those cases any less important. But I don't see the media cheerleading those accused murderers.

I don't understand why folks get upset when one story tends to get more "airtime". Often it is blamed on superficial physical characteristics of those involved.

But in this case--the story was so outlandish.

I DISTINCTLY remember when I First heard the story and the amber alert. I remember thinking--"Why are they doing this NOW--31 days after she was missing? What good is THAT going to do?" Then, in the next day or so: "Why did she wait 31 days?"

And I initially "somewhat" believed the Zeneida story--until the web of lies was exposed...

This case has quite unique features that make it stand out. That is why it is big news. And once something becomes big news, then the news agencies have motivation of good ratings to make sure they cover it well.

Her case is simply not comparable to any you have cited. Even then, the news media wasn't providing their stamp of approval on any of those accused murderers.

(not an "attack" on your opinion--I am just stating how I see it differently. I realize that many people do not agree with how media chooses or does not choose to cover certain events.)

I never said they were "cut slack". I said that they have gotten very little publicity. When I was searching for those links, almost every site that came up was headlined with the Casey Anthony case. Yet, these crimes, IMHO, are just as atrocious and there has been very little notice taken.

I am not trying to belittle anyone's opinion. I just don't see the big difference between this case and the others to make people hate her so very much. That's just me.

Sorry--paraphrase of the words used in the exchange. In response to someone you posted all the sites. I didn't say nor suggest you were belittling opinions.

ETA: Just for clarity, so that you know that I didn't accuse you of using that phrase, Dee77 posted the following to which you responded. I simply pointed out that in none of those cases were they "cut slack" which is what Dee had been looking for:

No problem. I understand where it came from.

This case brings back some rather intense memories for me. I had a team working for me during the OJ trial. We were working on a client conversion and putting in extremely long hours working very close together. There was one lady in our group that could have watched OJ kill the victims and still claim he was innocent. The conversations became so heated that I had to finally put the subject off limits at work. It was crazy. Cases like these are fascinating and, can be, very emotional. It's hard to watch real people in difficult circumstances without getting caught up. This too shall pass!
