The registered owner(s) of the white Pontiac Sunfire is / are George and /or Cindy Anthony. Tag renewal and tow notification would go to them.

Casey was allowed to drive the car. Much like when I was in high school and got my first job my parents let me drive their car. Eventually, after graduation, I bought the car from them.

Hm, imagine that, parents making a grown child pay their own way. I also had to pay rent after graduation, pay for my own gas, cover my own car insurance ...

hey - you're lucky. i was able to borrow my moms car once and a while but had to wait until i was 21 and could afford my own used car before i could use one regular.

can you say public transportation LOL

i can't say it anymore - actually i think i'm allergic to it LOL

Well there's a bit of a sore spot with that car and my mom. My aunt quit driving and gave it to my parents. At that point they owned 3 vehicles.

I graduated, got a full-time job, my mom kicked my dad out, he took his truck and she kept the 2 cars, one of which I was driving and even though it was registered in their name, I was paying 100% of the upkeep costs.

Right after my dad moved out my mom told me that I owed $50 / week for the note to my aunt. Supposedly, with the separation, she could no longer afford the payment. I wanted to pay it directly to my aunt and have the car put in my name. My mom said no and that I had to pay the money to her. Once the car was paid off, $3K balance, I could have it put in my name.

After I got it paid off I mentioned to my dad about him signing the title. He told me that my aunt had given the car to them, as in free. There was no note. I asked if she had shared the money I had paid to her with him, they were now divorced, and he said he never saw any of the money. He had no idea I was made to buy what was their marital property and with only my mom benefiting from the sale. :sad2:

But yeah, at least it wasn't public transportation. That would have been hard anyhow since we lived out in the boonies.

OUCH.

oh well - at least you got the car

I know JB asked this of George, but am I the only one who thinks it odd that they got notice of the car being towed and didn't call Casey asap to find out what had happened? I know her history of running out of gas and stealing but my parents were control freaks and would have called me screaming -even if just to leave a v/mail.

As soon as they got the car home, Cindy started calling Casey immediately. Ive pretty much figured that Cindy was the boss and George is pretty much a domineered man. Casey wasn't answering the phone so she sent her a text. After no answer, this is when Cindy contacted Caseys friend Amy. Amy took her to Tonys and picked up Casey.

So basically, the day they picked up the car is the day they finally had enough, realized Casey had been lying and didn't stop until they found her.

So let me ask this .... by the time Cindy called Amy (to take her to Tony's) did Amy know yet that CA had been stealing from her? And did Cindy not know where Tony lived (all this time)?

Thx

No Amy did not know. Amy, before she left for Puerto Rico, lost $400 but somehow Casey had her believing that she moved it while she was sleepwalking. But at the point that Cindy contacted her, Amy had no clue that Casey had stolen from her.

Cindy wasn't aware of Tony. Did not know who he was. Cindy didn't even know about Amy. Cindy just found her contact info in the purse Casey had left in the car. Casey lied to everyone, for no reason.

I'm back and I'm a MIL! :scared1:  The wedding was lovely. :)
Ok, I find Jim Lichensteins tweets entertaining.. I think he is bored today in the courtroom.. He has tweeted this in the last few minutes::

For those not following during jury selections, here come some juror descriptions. #caseyanthony #

Juror 1 - your grandmother. #caseyanthony

Juror 2 - Randy Jackson #caseyanthony

Juror 5 - the lady who, when you were a kid, you were afraid to walk on her lawn. #caseyanthony

Juror 9 - Barney Fiffe. #caseyanthony

Juror 11 - The coach and star of "Friday Night Lights". ( eye candy for the female reporters) #caseyanthony

Juror 15 - looks like my friend Kirsten in chicago, but that probably doesn't help you much... #caseyanthony

Juror 16 - basketball player, Vlade Divac (sp?) #caseyanthony

Juror 17 - Jesus in Dockers. #caseyanthony
Those are hilarious!
I love how Baez is doing a dramatic reading of George Anthony's deposition. You'd think he was auditioning for a play and was reading a script.
Just got home a little while ago and caught up with this thread, so haven't watched anything I DVRd, but this sounds so very special.
I think they had a "feeling" as things came to light. When they didn't see Caylee in the trunk--there was relief. They have believed Casey's lies for so long, that when she began lying about Caylee--they had a feeling something bad happened, but as long as they believed Casey--then they held out hope.

But during the police investigation process--they went through many possible scenarios. When they did not pan out or materialize, I think they went with the Nanny theory.

So I don't think it was a cover up. I think they expected the worst and hoped for the best and nothing more.
I think so too. And I think that they said things under those circumstances that are now coming back to bite them in the ***.
Oh my lord I am laughing out loud at the judge reading off these IM's.
This is killing me...I can't wait to catch up!
I think they know in the back of their minds that she must have done something but just couldn't and still can't wrap their minds around that fact. It must be so hard to realize that your child is capable of something like that. Cindy's call to 911 when she said how the car smelled was definitely a panic call and we can only guess as to what she thought that smell was and why the car smelled like that.
Since Casey hadn't been around much in the month before, and neither had the car, and the car had been found and Caylee was missing, perhaps Cindy was thinking that the car had been in possession of someone else, besides Casey...a person who may have taken and done something to Caylee. :confused3

Going to go get out of this dress, and tortuous shoes, and settle in to watch some trial stuff.

Tomorrow's another day. I'm SO glad they're not working Monday. Geez, I need a vacation!

So let me ask this .... by the time Cindy called Amy (to take her to Tony's) did Amy know yet that CA had been stealing from her? And did Cindy not know where Tony lived (all this time)?

Question #1- When Cindy picked up Amy H. she told her she better check her bank account because Casey was a known thief. That prompted Amy to check her bank account and discover Casey had stolen from her.

#2- Cindy did not know where Tony was living, that's why she called Amy H. and Amy directed her to Tony's apartment. She didn't even have Amy's number at first, she found it in Casey's "work bag" that was left in the Pontiac.

eta; Just saw you already got answers to your questions. sorry!

My question: Did I hear correctly that there was no DNA found on the body shaped stain in the trunk? You would think if it were fluids from the body it would have DNA on it. Or did I hear that completely wrong?

i thought they were working monday.

or is tomorrow in place of monday because you guys have a holiday monday?

I'm back and I'm a MIL! :scared1:  The wedding was lovely. :)

I was wondering how it went. Glad to hear it went well!:)

eta, I hope your relationship with your SIL will be as good as my mom and husband's. I never would've thought this at the begining but they are each others favorite people! They even gang up on me sometimes! :lmao:

I didn't hear what Judge Perry said about this Monday but he has said they will be working every Saturday for the duration of the trial.

I wonder if George just tried to steer clear of Cindy, and esp all the drama that there appeared to be between Cindy and Casey. I think Cindy was a tough person to live with.

Did anyone see the video of Casey's 2nd birthday on Nancy Grace? Cindy's face looked so much softer then. This whole thing has been a terrible strain for them, beyond anything I can even imagine.

Same here, with my mom (now deceased, Fall '10) and DH. I have siblings with "issues" (maybe one reason I'm so intolerant of Casey's behavior) and I'd tell my DH "Out of all my mom's kids, she likes you best." LOL And..."If we ever got divorced, my mom would want custody of YOU." :teeth:

I'll be a super MIL. ::yes::

That video was so sad. You can definitely see the difference in Cindy. No matter what anybody says about her (and I've posted my share of criticism), Cindy really truly loved Caylee.

Of course I knew my DH and Mom would get along, but it's wonderful to see how much they enjoy each other's company. I know you will be a wonderful MIL.:goodvibes

Congrats MaryAnnDVC! :flower3: I am sure it was a beautiful event. But we're glad to have you back!

Adding my congratulations to new MIL MaryAnnDVC :goodvibes

Well, I think MAYBE Lee knows. :confused3 Who knows! ;):thumbsup2

You might be right. I was rereading some old info today and found this:

The Naval inquiry involved Cpl. Mark Hawkins, a friend of Anthony's since high school, who was described as a source with "long term and intimate knowledge" of Caylee and her family.

Hawkins, who said he went on a few dates with Anthony but they never had a sexual relationship, said he had daily contact with Anthony over the summer of 2008. At one point, Anthony sent him a message that stated she had something to tell him, but she couldn't say it over the phone.

As part of the investigation, Hawkins came to Orlando and met with Anthony twice.

During one of those meetings, the FBI gave Hawkins a recording device.

The report said Hawkins asked Anthony what she meant about a message left over the summer, and Anthony said that her brother Lee Anthony "knew most of the story about what had happened to Caylee" and that she would tell the source about it "some day."

"No direct admissions of guilt were obtained and the recording was retained by FBI Orlando," the U.S. Naval Criminal Investigative Service report said.

Now, I wonder if Lee knew the true, true story or he was told one of Casey's made up scenarios and thought that it was true, like this doozy Casey made up:

"He [Lee] said that Zenaida came in and also took over her password [changed it to timer 55], controlled her Myspace and Facebook. And then, every day, Zenaida told her to go somewhere. Go to Wal-mart. Go to the Millennium Mall. And that she was directing her around, places to go. And that she would go there, and the reason she went there, was because if she didn`t, Zenaida would either kill Caylee, Lee, Cindy or George."

So by admitting there's no nanny she kinda screwed up her explanation as to why she was out shopping so much, huh ;)

wow....wow! I suggest reading all the discovery and you may sing a different tune.

Let's hope for Caylee that no one like this is sitting on the jury!! (although I think there may be!) and I believe she used the term abuse for attention....she only told the males in her life, I mean come on.....

Like what? Someone who will listen to all of the testimony and evidence BEFORE they render a verdict? Isn't this what a juror should do? Otherwise, why have a trial? :confused3

First of all- Congratulations Mary Ann, I also hope you have the kind of relationship with your SIL as my Mom has with my husband, my brothers and I always say that he is her "favorite child" Congrats again!

Back to the trial:

I am a little concerned about the text messages/instant messages not be entered into evidence, I hope that won't be the case with ALL of them. The prosecution has a point that it shows how much she relished the social aspect of life but the burden of having a child that conflicted with her goals of partying. I was a little sad that Judge Perry reduced himself to say that the next logical question could be "why didn't she kill her parents then." It was not necessary and didn't further the concept that she wanted a release of obligations.

Also with all of the shopping that she did, I am curious why the prosecution wouldn't also try to get evidence of the parking area at the stores to see where she parked, and which part of her car she placed all those bags into- backseat or trunk. It could have been very telling evidence if it was available and of course if it fell into the timeline of when she may have been driving around with poor Caylee in the back.

I had not heard that there is an outline of what appears to be a small child in the trunk :scared1: I think it is information like this that just hammers home why this is such an emotionally charged case.

A funny...this morning I said to my DH "So honey, you're an F-I-L." And he looks  and said "F-I-L??" So I told him..."father-in-law". And he says, "Geez, I thought I knew what the F was, and I couldn't imagine what came after that!" Silly man. I sent him information once on an upcoming WDW trip, full of acronyms, and he emails me back "I have NO idea what this all mean." He needs to get with the program!
Of course I knew my DH and Mom would get along, but it's wonderful to see how much they enjoy each other's company. I know you will be a wonderful MIL.:goodvibes
Yes, I will, and I will remind him every time I see him. :lmao:
Congrats MaryAnnDVC! :flower3: I am sure it was a beautiful event. But we're glad to have you back!
Thanks! I'm vegging today...good time to catch up.
Adding my congratulations to new MIL MaryAnnDVC :goodvibes

Thank you!

Wow, she sure can tell some real doozies. I think if she's found "not guilty", there's going to be some officially named "Casey Anthony lie lie lie" phenomenon.
First of all- Congratulations Mary Ann, I also hope you have the kind of relationship with your SIL as my Mom has with my husband, my brothers and I always say that he is her "favorite child" Congrats again!

Thank you!

I have SO MUCH to catch up on. There are text message that weren't allowed in as evidence? To/from whom?

Is court today from 9 - 1, or 1 - 4? I'm watching DVRd HLN shows, and they said something about coverage from 1 - 4, but I'm not sure if that's when court is in session, or just when their coverage of it is.

I'm back and I'm a MIL! :scared1:  The wedding was lovely. :)
Congrats! Glad it went off so well and now you officially have a new member of your family!!

I wonder if George just tried to steer clear of Cindy, and esp all the drama that there appeared to be between Cindy and Casey. I think Cindy was a tough person to live with.
I think Casey had been a problem for a long time. Cindy probably was the one that was the one the would "deal" with Casey.

Did anyone see the video of Casey's 2nd birthday on Nancy Grace? Cindy's face looked so much softer then. This whole thing has been a terrible strain for them, beyond anything I can even imagine.:
I agree. Cindy's face really shows what she's been through. She's put on a lot of weight too. Even though I don't necessarily agree with the things she's done to impeded the investigation and exacerbate Casey's issues, I can't even begin to imagine how hard this has been on her and George. To lose your granddaughter who you obviously adored like no other and then have to deal with the fact that your daughter is in jail facing the death penalty for killing her? Its been a rough 3 years for her. I do pray they can find some peace.

Well Ill be back at 9 for more trial!! Maybe Lee will be questioned this morning.
