Casey Anthony Civil Trials Discussion

You know, I love when Dr G said that if you find someone in a ditch, dead , with their hands tied behind their back, you know its MURDER without knowing the "how".....Yep, common sense is a wonderful thing if you USE it.

No, but when I got that message that it didn't exist, I clicked on hokucasa and then on the right there was a list of blogs and it was there. Ironically, I had to use my sleuthing , thinking and mental abilities. Yep, the same ones Miss Ford is missing!
All by yourself!!! G'girl!!! lol Our dear Miss Ford would need a Baez chart. :)

I almost wish she'd get a job as a commentator on TruTV. :lmao: Her own special take on the trial du jour would be priceless. I know that they have a SMART juror from the Scott Peterson trial on occasionally, and THAT'S good. And then, they put that whackadoo from the Anna Nicole Smith fiasco on (Larry Seidler or something?) and I think "Why the heck are they giving him more air time???" So it wouldn't be over the top to give Miss Ford a job. And I would LOVE it, except for two things...A) her getting more air time, and B) her getting paid. I just want to have a good laugh tho.

This trial has made me very leery of our jury system. That just having a driver's license (or being a registered voter, whatever is used) can get you on a jury, making such important decisions, is freaky. Think about some of the people you know, or have seen driving, and that people like them could be deciding your fate, or the fate of your loved one, or the fate of the killer of your loved one. Yikes!

Another thing that still bothers me about this case is that IF Casey didn't kill Caylee, then who did? Why wouldn't Casey or the family still be looking for the real killer if Casey didn't do it? That to me proves Casey is guilty. If I was accused and absolutely did not do it, then got acquited, I would never stop looking for the killer of my child until the monster was behind bars.

Don't you know? Casey drowned accidentally, while Grandpa George was there. Looking at it now, and I hate to say this, it was a brilliant defense. They covered everything...they didn't leave anything unanswered, even though their answers were ridiculous. What/How? Accidental Drowning. Where? In the backyard pool, as is common in FL. Who? Casey and George were both there. When? The day Caylee went missing. Why did she lie? Casey's father abused her. Therefore, no one KILLED Caylee. Per Casey and her defense, she wasn't just acquitted...she's innocent.

Uh-huh. NOT.

Im right there with you! But I don't know about that J-Fo as an analyst.. unless it purely for comedy LOL!

Just like a big girl!!:cool1:

On another note, looks like dear old CA got away with another one today.. Judge just ruled she will NOT have to speak in the Zenaida Gonzalez case... How does she manage to do this? She gets away with everything . Are all these lawyers working pro bono? It boggles the mind! It cost me more to fight a da$n traffic ticket last month!

Unbelievable. That girl has the golden touch. I keep going back to the fact that she'll live in her own little purgatory for the rest of her life. I hope.

I just want to scream all over, oh my blood is boiling. She wont get away with it still. But right now it seems like it. I want to know why the courts keep babying her. At some point in life she will have to work, and pay rent and bills. I am baffled that people arent tired of taking care of her and she hasnt produced a red cent for them. UGH!

Big news?! Personal? Professional? CA related? :confused3

Sorry if this has already been posted :goodvibes

A source told WESH 2 News on Friday that former assistant state attorney Jeff Ashton will announce that he is running for the 9th circuit state attorney post in 2012 against his former boss, Lawson Lamar.

Go baby go!

Can't wait for the Dr G special here. I saw a blurb of her talking about all the things she would tell that we didn't hear at the trial. :thumbsup2

I hope she talks about something I was reading about over on WS that was in the autopsy - about Caylee's skull being prematurely fused ("premature synostosis")

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craniosynostosis

I hope she mentions that Caylee's pediatrician/medical records indicate this, if only to verify that Caylee did have regular medical care KWIM?

And you know, as a FL taxpayer, if someone starts a taxpayer lawsuit against Casey to recover at least some of the taxpayer monies spent on this case I sure would like to join it....all the time and effort to have her claim 3 years later that Caylee "drowned".

Gee, still such a sore spot in my heart after all these months

The one small shred of hope that I have--if ZG's end of the case is still sound...

I had come across something a long while back.

In a criminal case, pleading the 5th cannot be used against you at all.

I thought I can across something that said it is a bit different in a civil case. It possibly can be used against you.

It has been a while--so I don't remember exactly.

Just googled and can't post many of the links due to DIS rules. Seems much has been brewing in FL since I last googled.

Pleading the fifth in a civil case means you are probably guilty. But why take the fifth? I thought the truth was told? Hmmm..maybe not.

I just came to post that about Jeff Ashton! Good job! :thumbsup2

Maybe I'm having a slow brain day (quite possible!) but I don't know what you mean about the fact that Caylee did have regular medical care. :confused3 (Did she?) And what's the significance of the skull fusion?

Yup, Dr G tonight. :thumbsup2

Yup, Dr G tonight. And Jeff A with a beard!:thumbsup2

Oh I love me some Dr. G :cheer2:

Watched tonight and love that she just tells it like it is - and I take solace that at least SHE was on Caylee's side. Her unwavering "It was a homicide" made me shake my head yes, ITA.

About the medical care, just tying up loose ends in my mind I guess :cutie:

I remember when Casey was asked about Caylee being healthy at the time she went missing and Casey said something like "Caylee was so healthy that she had only had one cold in her entire life". Then when they asked who her pediatrician was she said "Silva", but I don't think they were ever able to produce that doctor to verify that she had ever been seen by anyone. (JMO but that's probably also why Baez had couldn't produce Caylee's pediatrician on the stand to verify just how healthy she was).

When Dr G mentioned the premature closure of the skull in the autopsy and I read all the terrible things that that can cause (in the article link above), including the "craniosynostosis results in increased intracranial pressure (ICP) leading possibly to visual impairment, sleeping impairment, eating difficulties, or an impairment of mental development combined with a significant reduction in IQ"

It also says "when the ICP is elevated the following symptomes may occur: vomiting, visual disturbance, bulging of the anterior fontanel, altered mental status, papilledema and headache" it made me really hope Caylee was being seen by a doctor who was aware of what was going on with her skull. I really hope she wasn't suffering.

I wonder if there were some symptoms showing up in Caylee and Casey just thought she was just being a brat. I remember the book law enforcement had photgraphed when searching Casey's room about toddlers and tantrums and how Casey had soooo many pages marked.

IF Caylee was being drugged, maybe that's why. Maybe poor Caylee just plain hurt, and Casey couldn't deal with it so she kept her quiet. :confused3

Oh well, just more idle speculation here. It took me quite awhile, but I have resigned myself to the fact that we'll never know what really happened. :upsidedow

Isn't Silva a mind altering kind of drug? I was an herb that people started using to get high and the state of FL made it illegal in 2008. Interesting choice of names that Casey picked for her pretend doctor.

I think you may be thinking of Salvia

I watched it on TLC and their website shows it will be repeated tonight at 1am and again on 1/7/12 (Saturday) at 10pm and then again at 1am . It's called "Dr. G: Inside the Caylee Anthony Case". :thumbsup2

IMHO it's worth watching, even if you know most everything about the case already. The no-nonsense way she explains her findings blow away all the smoke that was being blown about in the courtroom. For example, I knew about the duct tape on the face but hadn't realized all Caylee's teeth were all still intact thanks to that duct tape holding the jaw on. Like Dr G said, baby teeth are not rooted firmly at that age and would have been all gone without that tape holding the jaw - and then when they showed JB trying to say that the tape was around the bag and not her face, it was so obviously wrong that (if it wasn't so sad that the jury believed him) you would have to laugh at him. ;)

Not that any of it matters now, but somehow I missed that Casey made up a doctor for Caylee. Did the child really not have a pediatrician or a family doctor that saw her regularly at least for well visits, even if she really was never sick? Wouldn't George & Cindy have known if Caylee never saw a doc, even for well visits? I guess Caylee couldn't have been on their health insurance, and we know Casey didn't actually have a job so obviously no insurance through that, but as the child of a single mother with no father in the picture, wouldn't Caylee have qualified for state health insurance? If she ever did see a doc through the state, there would be records of that.
