Oh I love me some Dr. G
Watched tonight and love that she just tells it like it is - and I take solace that at least SHE was on Caylee's side. Her unwavering "It
was a homicide" made me shake my head yes, ITA.
About the medical care, just tying up loose ends in my mind I guess
I remember when Casey was asked about Caylee being healthy at the time she went missing and Casey said something like "Caylee was so healthy that she had only had one cold in her entire life". Then when they asked who her pediatrician was she said "Silva", but I don't think they were ever able to produce that doctor to verify that she had ever been seen by
anyone. (JMO but that's probably also why Baez had couldn't produce Caylee's pediatrician on the stand to verify just how healthy she was).
When Dr G mentioned the premature closure of the skull in the autopsy and I read all the terrible things that that can cause (in the article link above), including the "craniosynostosis results in increased intracranial pressure (ICP) leading possibly to visual impairment, sleeping impairment, eating difficulties, or an impairment of mental development combined with a significant reduction in IQ"
It also says "when the ICP is elevated the following symptomes may occur: vomiting, visual disturbance, bulging of the anterior fontanel, altered mental status, papilledema and headache" it made me really hope Caylee was being seen by a doctor who was aware of what was going on with her skull. I
really hope she wasn't suffering.
I wonder if there were some symptoms showing up in Caylee and Casey just thought she was just being a brat. I remember the book law enforcement had photgraphed when searching Casey's room about toddlers and tantrums and how Casey had soooo many pages marked.
IF Caylee was being drugged, maybe that's why. Maybe poor Caylee just plain
hurt, and Casey couldn't deal with it so she kept her quiet.
Oh well, just more idle speculation here. It took me quite awhile, but I have resigned myself to the fact that we'll never know what really happened.
