Casey Anthony Civil Trials Discussion

I agree on the commericals. I get really tired of them. By the way, did you see the pictures of John Morgan's home when he hosted the event for Obama? He's not doing to badly!

I know, right?

I am up in the DC area and imagine my surprise when he popped up on commercials up here.

Definitely wasn't a "Morgan and Morgan" ad. Must have been through some network of attorneys he is with or something. Can't recall if he says "for the people" or not. Definitely caused me to do a double take.

But didn't this whole thing with Zenaida filing suit start way back, long before the trial? Was there really that much money in it for her or her legal team if Casey had been found guilty, which is what most people expected to happen?

Didn't read the latest tho...just whats in this thread...so I'm posting without knowing too much about the current facts. Have been a little ocupado lately. :) Will have to read up on it...thanks for posting.

It did start way back. Unfortnately since HRH Casey Anthony gets special privileges from the courts to keep her trap shut, we only get to hear one side. Also, since this is a deposition, there is no cross examination. HRH's attorney will only ask questions that benefit his client. They will focus on her unemployment. They may not ask about her trying to find a job during that time. They will focus on the complaints about child neglect, but perhaps not any attempts for her to reform herself.

And maybe Zanida is a liar just like Casey? Who knows. Perhaps SHE began using the name ZFG to garner attention and sympathy for herself.:confused3 Honestly, that never occurred to me.

But if Casey can get off for murder with her tartlet, lying, manipulative past and be deemend "not guilty", I am not quite ready to throw in the towel on Zanida just, yet. It is indeed only ONE side of the story spun to favor HRH, of course (by the manner in which she was questioned).

ETA: and now HRH gets to read all of this and can spin her web of lies to suit a favorable outcome.

Regardless of whether she's Fernandez-Gonzales or just Gonzales, this woman was fingered, brought in for questioning, was assumed the nanny by thousands and was suspected of kidnapping and killing a child she had no dealings with whatsoever. She was getting death threats when her name came out and she was brought in for questioning. Whether or not she has Fernandez as part of her last name, she was brought in for questioning and was a suspect ... something, I'm sure, nobody wants to go through. I an't imagine the impact all of this had on her -- emotional distress and whatnot.

I don't think she asked for this. She probably would've been much happier if Casey said Maria Ortega was the nanny and didn't have to go through any of this. She got death threats and think she deserves to be compensated for what she went through. Casey should've been honest and said "There is no Zanny just like there was no job at Universal" but she didn't. She chose to drag this woman through the mud instead.

I don't know if she applied for jobs while this was going on or not ... but her name will forever be tied to this trainwreck. And, who needs that?

I'm watching Dateline NBC and they're discussing the Robyn Garner (woman who went missing woman in Aruba) case ... the one that HoseA Baez was defending the Richard Forester but the guy got off for lack of evidence.

Let me just say that HoseA is so bloody smarmy, arrogant, and smug. I want to slap him! He's like a big fat cat lapping up cream with the camera time that he's getting from this interview. He's making me nauseous!

The other day, I was watching The View. Barbara Walters announced her list of the Most Fascinating People 2011 for her show. She announced all except one person. She said that person is the number one most fascinating person of 2011 and will not be announced until the show takes place.

Didn't Jose Baez meet with Barbara Walters right after the trial? For some reason, the first person who popped into my head was Casey Anthony.

It just seems so odd that Barbara is keeping one person a secret. I don't remember her ever doing that in the past.

Does Barbara Walters have facebook? Everyone can start right now with objections.

I don't know for a fact that it will be Casey. It just seemd odd that she isn't announcing the person until during the show and it seems like she met with Biaz at one time.

I agree, does seem odd.
She does have a FB page (I am not a fan though but had to check!) and there are lots of folks commenting on the Kardashian's being some of the "most interesting".

I'm pretty sure she's done that in the past, keeping the #1 person a secret. But the thought that it could be Casey Anthony or anyone associated with her and her case makes me sick.

I didn't see the Dateline episode, but yeah, that describes him in general. Yuck.

I've been curious (to say the least) about whether or not the final most fascinating person (per Barbara Walters  ) is Casey-related, and found this:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/08/barbara-walters-donald-trump-personal_n_1136283.html

A ninth name likely to be a political figure is yet to be announced. The year's Most Fascinating Person will, as usual, be withheld until the 90-minute broadcast airs.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31749_1...make-barbara-walters-fascinating-people-list/

The No. 1 Most Fascinating Person will be revealed on the broadcast, set to air Dec. 14. on ABC. (Apparently, at 9:31 PM EST, per my FIOS.)

I've tried to find a spoiler, but apparently it's a heavily guarded secret. It will be interesting to see who it is...maybe. I'm often "huh??" about some of the pickin's.

I have been meaning to post this quote for weeks from Jeff's book but I loaned it out to a friend and wanted to make sure I had the wording correct.

When describing Baez, Ashton quotes My Fair Lady when Henry Higgins describes Zoltan Karpathy:

"Oozing charm from every pore/He oiled his way across the floor." :lmao:

He goes on to tell how he "genuinely dislikes Baez." Ashton said he is able to face many defense attorneys in court and still respect them and have a beer with them at the end of the day but not so with Baez. He has no respect for him at all.

After reading all the antics Baez pulled before and during the trial, I can't believe he didn't violate any ethics. Wasn't the FL Bar looking into it? Did anything ever come of those charges?

See, for me, Baez does not ooze charm or charmisma or anything positive. He's just a slimey snake, imo. And, I thought that way from the beginning.
He has always reminded me of a smarmy used car dealer ... the kind who tells you that the little old lady from Pasedena owned the car when he knows it was involved in Hurricane Katrina and sat submerged in water for a month.

No, they have already said that Barbara interviewed her for the special.

I really hope it's not Casey. That would seriously suck wind.

OK - I had not heard that. Then again, I haven't been paying much attention to that. If it's Baez, I wonder if there will be any backlash? I doubt it's Casey ... I don't think Babs would want to ruin her rep with that one since Casey's so maligned!

In no particular order, the others are:

  • Donald Trump
  • Simon Cowell
  • Katy Perry
  • Derek Jeter
  • Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, the couple from ABC's comedy "Modern Family"
  • Kardashian family
  • Pippa Middleton
  • Amanda Knox
I'd like to see Amanda Knox. Out of the rest of them, no one really interests me. :confused3 Most seem like a whole lot of old news.

I DO think that Barbara would seek out an interview with Casey Anthony. I don't think she thinks it would do a whole lot of damage to her or her career. It's the interview that others want to do, but don't want to take the risks. I think if she can get it, she'd do it. She's way too into getting the exclusive. Remember how she gushed all over Dr Phil for getting the interviews with George and Cindy? It was ALL about GETTING the story. It's her thing.

I agree with you. I would like to see Amanda Knox. Why the others were chosen makes me go "huh?" I can't figure out why some of them are "fascinating". I mean, Pippa Middleton? Because she has a hot butt and let the world know it at the wedding? :confused3

And, yeah ... Babs is probably the only one whose career would go more unscathed by a CA interview. However, I still see her getting flack for it by many fans. And, I think she only gushed over Phil hoping to get an in with the Anthony's and the chance to get close to CA and talk to her about getting an exclusive.

At this point, it's too late for CA to cash in. She didn't strike while the iron was hot and blew her chances. As time goes on, I think everyone's going to be happy to NOT hear a word about her.
