I'm surprised that they allowed her to wear a disguise, basically, during the deposition. She's been hiding out this long and I'm sure her location for the deposition was carefully chosen and secure. If she had to don a wig, sunglasses and a baseball cap to GET there, I can see that. But why can she keep all that on for the actual questioning? She'll probably claim someday "wasn't me!" and then they'll have to do "flared nostril analysis" to prove it was.

Casey Anthony and Amanda Knox have a lot in common -- they were both recently freed from jail, they're both big celebrities now and they're both hot. What they don't have in common ... supportive parents, at least according to Casey Anthony's lawyer.

Jose Baez tells TMZ he was very happy for Amanda Knox and her family when the verdict was overturned. Baez says he watched the verdict and it was " a very surreal moment for me because I remembered being in that situation -- where a young woman's life hung in the balance -- and in a split second, her life was given back to her."

Baez says he felt Amanda's family played a key role in things, saying they should "be applauded" for sticking with her through the entire process -- unlike Casey's parents, who did not support her and instead, he feels, "hurt her case."

In the end, Baez says they're just a pair of "all-American girls."

How COULD you refrain from commenting. Seriously I need to state the obvious Amanda Knox did not kill a family member and more specifically a helpless child. While I think she is involved in the murder and of the same ilk as Casey she did not kill her baby. IN the hierarchy of killers Casey is the lowest or worst and furthermore Amanda's parents did not even know the victim. I am NOT condoning what Amanda did, just saying that the HOSE as I like to call him is an idiot but then again I state the obvious.

Just two typical American Girls? WEll they could be ......if America was in a state of anarchy and KILLERS were the norm!

Huh. I would have thought Baez would blast the parents in the Knox case. After all, Mommy Knox didn't run over there and insist it was really her that walked into the flat first.

Have not been following developments as I did in the summer, did they ever release the names of the jury members?

The names will be released October 25 "or later". I wonder if a lawyer for a juror(s) will fight again to keep the names private, or if Judge Perry will extend the amount of time.

He really is an ***. Casey Anthony might have a fighting chance of reappearing someday if Baez didn't keep throwing in the public's face this BS about her innocence, her victimization by her parents/the legal system, her being a loving mother, her need to mourn the loss of her daughter, and on and on. He just brings up all the anger again about the verdict. Of course he's going to be asked about the case, but he needs to just say "it's over, and now I'm dealing with xyz case" or whatever. But he's going to milk the CA case for all it's worth, for himself, without any regard whatsoever to the affect on CA.

And he needs to quit bringing up George and Cindy! Although I truly believe that Casey premeditated Caylee's murder (I know others believe it was an "accident" while illegally drugging her), I might have had some doubt had they not implicated George. That was too far fetched, IMHO, and it means, to me, that they were covering up a crime.

As far as Amanda Knox...ahem...some people may know how strongly I feel about that. I'm watching 48 Hours Mystery about the Amanda Knox case, and I strongly believe she's innocent and doesn't know a thing about the murder.

Most Americans (as I will clearly state that I am, of Italian decent ) seem to believe that Amanda is innocent, and at the very least, that the case was handled so badly that they can't get to the true facts of the case. Reminds me of a relative of mine who went to a quack of a psychiatrist, who put so many thoughts of sexual abuse into her head, that she will never ever know at this point what truly happened in her childhood, if anything. KWIM?

So, in America, for Baez to compare Casey and Amanda...two All-American girls...is just obnoxious, at the very least. He's taking the Casey Anthony case and using it to keep himself in the news. ***.

On 48 Hours, they just showed a clip of the prosecutor Mignini dramatically pronouncing in court that when shown pictures of the crime scene, Amanda and Raffaele didn't react appropriately...Amanda looked down and Raffaele looked away. Well, there ya go. Proof.

There are a few local articles but they all say that there is no information about the specific grievance. Apparently, this step sees if there is validity in the complaint and if they find cause, it will go to the "trial"

I can honestly see that happening. Amanda Knox is getting the interviews and the coverage that Casey believes should have been reserved for her. Baez has moved on with another high profile case. God knows she is sitting around with nothing to do and nowhere to go because everyone hates her. I can just picture her holed up in her room and deciding to search the net to figure out how she can start paying back the people she feels have done her wrong.

OMG, this Dr Rogers, medical examiner, in the Conrad Murray trial is one huge snooze fest. And not sounding very confident in his testimony. I keep turning it on for background noise, and it seems like it's always him! Even the bug experts in the CA trial were more interesting to listen to; I'd have a difficult time staying awake through the MJ trial. Not saying I'd need to be entertained, but I swear, this Dr Rogers could put insomniacs to sleep.

And is there no MJ/CM trial thread on the DIS? First time I looked for one, and surprised I couldn't find one. Just curious about opinions where this trial stands now; no idea which way it seems to be going now.

Just discovered that Mary Tyler Moore repeats are on TV...I need to get a collection recorded for my background noise!
