Casey Anthony Civil Trials Discussion

That's great! I hope he sells a TON of books. CA will have the mother of all temper tantrums if ASHTON makes a fortune off of HER!!! :thumbsup2

I bet she tries to get Hose-A to sue him for making money off of her situation when she can't.

On another note, I am currently reading this book about Amanda Knox. I did NOT know that she was with Rafaelle waiting for him to be questioned when she did the cartwheels. And, I did not know that the reason she did the cartwheels was because she was sitting in a yoga pose and the police officer asked if she could do a cartwheel and she said yes and showed him to prove it.

From what I'm reading, it seems like Amanda was just kind of a naive girl and kind of lacked street smarts.

Not sure how real this is but from what I read online, she may have created a Facebook page under an assumed name. Someone has screen shots before the page was made private and the picture was pulled. When it was public, Tony Lazarro was a "friend"

It's under www.facebook.com/ttysly

Her "name" is Lexi Poshisli

And here is the page with a different name "Caslee"

Wow, just wow...

I know I'll get flammed for this, but what happened to all those who said they would never do anything that would let someone profit from Caylee's death. Jeff Ashton is going to make a mint off this. Oddly, he retired right after the trial and immediately wrote his book. Now, that the book is out, he is thinking of running for his old bosses job as lead prosecutor. They announced it on the local news today. Kind of a short retirement.

Now, I don't blame him. Many would do the same thing, if they could.

I think the entire thing was a mess from day one. Everyone screwed up. From the parents to the police, the attorneys...you name it. I think we can all agree that the only real victim in this whole thing was Caylee. At this point, I'm done with it. I have no desire to read Ashton's book or rehash the case in any way.

Some--but not all did not want The Anthony's, Casey or the defense team to profit.

I don't really read rehashings either--but I really don't have an issue with someone like Ashton coming forward with what he was not allowed to say in the courtroom.

Marcia Clark wrote a book about the OJ trial...again, no big deal. OJ writing "If I did it"--totally different and absolutely whack-a-doodle inappropriate.

If that is really her, some of those responses that support her are really whacky. "You are such a great person." REALLY?? :confused3

Jeff Ashton planned to retire before this case. His boss wanted him to stay on board for this one and he agreed.

He has also contemplated a run for state attorney for awhile. That was the reason he was retiring in the first place, from what I have read. This case didn't change anything regarding running or retiring.

If Casey would have been found guilty, I may not have been in favor of anyone profiting off of this case. Since the verdict was wrong, IMO, I will be THRILLED when anyone besides Casey, the Anthony's, CM, or Baez profits from this. She was hoping to make a fortune off of this and everytime someone else is in the news stealing her spotlight, it makes me smile a little for Caylee. I don't think there was justice for Caylee but I think this is the next best thing.

Yeah, I'm hoping it's just a bad joke.

That pretty much sums it up for me too.

Why do you think you're going to get flamed? Seems as though you start every post related to the Casey Anthony case that way. I guess I just don't equate disagreeing with flaming. :confused3 But isn't your post kind of rehashing the case in some way, by rehashing your objections to how other people feel about or follow it? :confused3

What Lisa said.

Regarding your statement: "what happened to all those who said they would never do anything that would let someone profit from Caylee's death." I think the problem with your statement lies with the words "SOMEONE PROFIT FROM CAYLEE"S DEATH." I don't see Jeff Ashton fitting in to that category. Jeff Ashton isn't profiting off of Caylee's death, as Casey would be. Jeff Ashton is discussing the legalities of the case. With the high profile nature of this case, and the eventual and quite shocking not guilty verdict (surely not to you Feralpeg...I'm just saying, to the general public), this will probably be required reading in some law classes. Jeff Ashton was not the killer, nor a liar for the killer, nor a supporter of the killer/liar. He was doing exactly the opposite...he was the one focused on getting justice for Caylee. If he, as the high profile prosecutor in a high profile case, writes a book about the experience, the case, the evidence, the types of evidence (and whether it's junk science), the CSI effect, etc...whatever he includes in the book...and if others admire him for all he did and want to read what he has to say...then it's all good, as far as I'm concerned. He, Frank George and Linda Drane Burdick put Caylee FIRST, out of everyone involved in this case, including Caylee's own grandparents. I have no problem buying his book and his profiting from it.

What Lisa and Maryann said...

I don't think of JA as profitting off of Caylee's death, he's writing a book on his experience that his job brought him. Its not like he went out of the way to get involved in order to turn a profit and its not like he's a guilty party making money off his crimes..

As far as those facebook pages.. well, if its her..She still has idle time on her hands to get herself in trouble and seek attention. Nothing has changed, as far as Im concerned.

I know I'll get flammed for this, but what happened to all those who said they would never do anything that would let someone profit from Caylee's death.

I thought most people said they wouldn't touch anything that benefitted CA and her family directly (ie: tv interview, magazine interview, biography of CA, etc.). :confused3 This doesn't fit the JA book. As far as I know, CA and/or family will not profit from JA's book.

I can only speak for myself. I said that I would not read anything or watch anything that benefitted Casey Anthony or her family in any way. As I said above, this book does not fit that category.

I would purchase a book about the case from the prosecution's side. I would NOT purchase a book (or should I say fairy tale?) written by the defense's side. I would not purchase a book written by Casey Anthony or a book written about Casey Anthony (ie: her biography). I will not watch an interview with CA, or read a magazine interview with CA. Those would all directly put money into CA's pocket.

Jeff Ashton's book is going to be about the trial, the legwork they had to do, etc. It appears it will be more about the legal process and the trial itself than a book about Casey.

If Jeff Ashton wrote a CA biography rather than what happened behind the scenes, during the investigation, preparing for the case, during the trial, etc. ... then I will not read it. I know more than enough about CA. I would want to know more about what the prosecution went through to develop their case.

I don't think JA is profiting from Caylee's death. He's profiting from the experiences he had while putting this case together. Big difference, eh?

If that is her on facebook, I really find that appauling that she does not need to find a job, can drink and not even school herself. Which I thought she was doing school online. I would really like to know how she is supporting herself.

Just saw this on myfacebook, Barbara Walters maybe trying to get an interview with Cassey. I think Baez is hoping that people will forget about the issue and people won't protest.

What name is she supposedly going by on Facebook?
