Casey Anthony Civil Trials Discussion

My gut tells me she isn't in FL anymore. I think Jose will have a very hard time controlling Casey. She is going to start getting antsy any day now and she will want to head out. If she was in FL, I think he could lose her very easily because she knows the area and could find her way around. She also has some connections here (yep, there are still some scum bags that will support her). If she is in another state that she isn't familiar with and doesn't have any old friends to connect with and old stomping grounds to hang in, he may be able to keep the leash on her a little longer. Just speculating on my part, though.

* I should add, while I think Jose is orchestrating her whereabouts, I don't think he is staying with her. I'm sure he is dropping in for a quicky and to update her on their future millions, though.

My personal theory is that she is way too nutty for public viewing at this time. I think they are trying to figure out what to do with her.

Geraldo said his boat currently sits on a mooring under the George Washington Bridge in New York Harbor in plain view of hundreds of thousands of commuters every day...

Yeah, what about the private island he owns? It's not anywhere near those hundreds of thousands of commuters. ;)

Yeah, how do you go from thinking she's incompetent to stand trial to being ready to parade her before the public? :confused3

Can you imagine what his poor wife is wondering about these days? :sad2:

Kurby, I'm glad to hear the good news about your sweetie pie! :cool1:

I heard to day on the Imus show that JB is in NY now having lunch with Matt Lauer of the Today show. It seems a deal is in the works.

:sad2: How sad that the network(s) are willing to pay for something like this although it doesn't surprise me one bit. I wonder how much they will pay though? GMA paid $200,000 for the pictures. Nice chunk of change but impossible to live on for the rest of your life. Would they pay a million dollars? Doubt she could live on a million when you factor in the pending lawsuits and the fact that Jose is going to take a large cut. Just how much will a network pay when you consider the impending backlash? Are they willing to risk something like $20 mil? $50 mil? Any idea the biggest payout a network has ever done?

Gift trip from a local businessman, David Deese, CEO of Quinco Electrical.

People over at the Scared M's website are looking into this guy and it's pretty interesting. :rolleyes1

Like these items:

When it rains, it pours.

The Department of Labor announced today that Quinco Electrical–a Winter Park-based contractor recently ordered to pay restitution to the federal government after violating the Buy American Act–was also found to have been cheating its electricians out of higher wages by classifying them as “pipe layers.” The company will be required to pay out $68,778 in back wages to the workers.

The news comes on top of two well-publicized investigations (which the rest of the Orlando press corps originally conflated into one) last month into the employment practices of contractors involved in the construction of the new Veterans Affairs clinic in the Lake Nona area southeast of Orlando.

Quinco Electrical is one of the contractors working on the site.

The Florida Division of Insurance Fraud was wrapping up its own probe at the site on Feb. 9 when somebody on the site tipped off Immigrations and Customs Enforcement to the possibility of illegal aliens working on the premises. The ensuing raid was juicy fodder for local TV news, given the thermal imaging reportedly used to locate people who may have been hiding in the walls.

Neither the Division of Insurance Fraud nor the VA would say which contractors are the subject of the initial investigation, but it seemed fitting that the state’s insurance fraud investigators would be on site, considering that former Quinco procurement manager Sam Mollison had also told us that the company had been cashing in on insurance checks after falsely claiming that materials had been stolen for their warehouse

September 10, 2009

ALLYSON M. GEGGATT, PLAINTIFF,
v.
DAVID DEESE AND QUINCO ELECTRICAL, INC., DEFENDANTS.

ORDER

Allyson M. Geggatt ("Geggatt") brings the instant action against Quinco Electrical, Inc. ("Quinco") alleging sexual harassment in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e et seq. ("Title VII") (Count VIII) and the Florida Civil Rights Act of 1992, Sections 509.092, 760.01-11, Florida Statutes ("the FCRA") (Count VI). Geggatt also brings two claims of battery (Counts II & III) against both Quinco and David Deese ("Deese"), a claim of defamation (Count IV) against both Quinco and Deese, and a claim of negligent hiring and retention against Quinco (Count IX).*fn1 Additionally, Deese has brought counterclaims against Geggatt for defamation (Counterclaim I) and defamation per se (Counterclaim II). (See Doc. 22 at 3-5).

Geggatt describes several incidences that occurred at the workplace that she alleges constitute sexual harassment by Deese. First, Geggatt claims that Deese made two comments regarding her appearance. Sometime during Geggatt's second week of employment, Deese told her in passing that she "looked sexy."

The next workplace incident complained of by Geggatt occurred in the mail room during the her third-and final-week of employment at Quinco. Geggatt avers that Deese "walked close behind me and brushed my buttocks with his hand" while Geggatt was standing next to the copy machine.

The final workplace incident involving Deese occurred during the final days of Geggatt's employment at Quinco. Geggatt described witnessing Deese at the opposite end of "a long hallway"-approximately fourteen to eighteen feet away-look directly at her and then "unzip his pants and make a thrusting gesture and then zip [them] back up when somebody came around the corner," though she later admits that she is unsure whether he actually unzipped his pants or just pantomimed doing so

And these are just a couple of things they mentioned. Geeze I think that everyone surrounding the Anthony's are shady...

Oh and have to say HURRAY FOR NICOLE! You go girl! :yay:
She's our honorary DIS mascot :worship:

And here's a Hi to CG too

Sadly, I don't anything connected with these people shocks me anymore. I believe the Anthony's attornety described him as "a nice guy who wanted to help them out, someone the Anthony's felt comfortable with..." :sad2:

Geraldo said his boat currently sits on a mooring under the George Washington Bridge in New York Harbor in plain view of hundreds of thousands of commuters every day...

Maybe Geraldo has another boat somewhere else...
That guy is at the end of his career (and he knows it) and would sell his soul to get the first Casey interview, and that would include helping to hide her. Besides, if she is actually on his boat, what is Geraldo going to say when confronted about it, "ok, you got me, she's on my boat"? Of course he would deny it.

BTW, I noticed you're from Xenia, my DW is from there too. It's a nice little town. :)

Ok everyone, I'm back, with an actual keyboard and some more details.

Wow! The CIA doesn't have anything over Dis members. We have agents everywhere! ;)

:thumbsup2 For once in my life I feel like I am "in the know!"

Wow that is crazy, did you notice anyone else giving him strange looks? That would say alot. Well report if you see Casey nearby. You can run but you cant hide. Even our dis board regulars will find them. Keep a camera handy. Waiting to hear more. Love the Atlantis very nice. Hope you have a great vacation.

Vacation was awesome, thanks for the well wishes. :) Except DH and I got into a bit of a scuffle at dinner that night because he said I wouldn't shut up about GA... he watched coverage but wasn't following it like I was. He just didn't get it! I didn't see anyone else giving him strange looks... in fact, I was so caught up in telling DH as discreetly as I could that it was him that I wasn't looking at anyone else but GA, probably with my jaw on the floor.

Puke on George! You'll be a hero! :cheer2::cheer2:

Oh I WISH I had the gastronomical fortitude to do it on command!

photos photos photos.

sell them to HLN FOX or any other media outlet who won't talk about anything else

And here come the details. DH and I left DD1 with my ILs so we could go on the lazy river together, and we had stashed all our belongings in a locker-- you can't very well go down a lazy river with your camera or phone, although I'm now kicking myself for not buying one of those water-proof cameras. The last one I bought returned such crummy photos that I decided against it this time. So, in short, there are no pics of this. I'm sad that I don't have evidence, but I am not sure what I would have even done with pics anyway-- I just don't feel good about all the money being paid out due to a little girl's death. :(

When I saw him, he was shirtless, in solid light blue trunks, and had made zero effort to alter his appearance. He bumped into my shoulder, excused himself, my eyes went straight to the tattoo and then his face, and then he walked to the bathroom. At this point I said "DH, that's George F Anthony!" (Except the f doesn't stand for a middle initial here.) DH said no way, so I said fine, you'll see. He came out of the bathroom and there he was, 100% undeniably him. He walked up to 2 guys who were smoking at the towel hut who looked incredibly shady (can't tell you why I got that vibe, but I just did) and he slapped hands with one guy who said, "George the man, what's up?" in an unidentifiable accent. That's when DH saw his My Sunshine tattoo and knew it was him.

(here is a pic of the tattoo: http://i380.photobucket.com/albums/oo242/Brandi-Monkey/Casey Anthony/shot0001.png -- hard to miss, it covers his whole left pectoral.)

I staked out the same area I where saw him on a few different occasions yesterday and Saturday, and there was no sign of him. I also kept my eye out in other locations, and never saw any trace of him again, nor did I ever see Casey, Cindy, Jose, or anyone else for that matter. (I did, however, see lots of other (actual) celebs of the good variety!)

Here's what boggles me about the whole thing. The entire resort of Atlantis is *teeming* with people. In particular, the Aquaventure area was like Typhoon Lagoon on an 8 or better day, due to not only the many guests but also the cruise ship passengers who bought day passes. If he would have dyed his hair dark and wore one of those popular UV protection surf/swim tees, I probably wouldn't have blinked since I had no idea they were in the Bahamas. On top of that, he was in one of the busiest areas -- lockers, bathrooms, lazy river entrance, many chairs, etc. It was like he didn't give a rip who saw him or anything.

It just doesn't seem like the place someone would go "for rest" or to be not seen by the public. In addition, the Cove area has private cabanas that could have been rented for them along the beach, so why go to the most public of areas, completely without disguise, if one is trying to hide out for rest from all of this? I almost feel like him being so out in the open was part of some grand scheme I am not privy to.

Anyway, there's the whole story. Thanks for listening, since DH is clearly over it. I'm interested to see how this all pans out, or if we find out Casey was there. I still haven't seen anything about that yet. I just got home and Delta lost 3/4 bags, so I've been having fun with that all day. :upsidedow

Thanks for the great update! It kind of makes me wonder if he was being used as a decoy while Cindy was off somewhere else visiting with Casey (not at Atlantis). Like you said, people were able to easily spot George. Since they left FL on the same plane, the assumption is that they went to the same location. Instead, maybe Cindy went elsewhere?

I really think that this trip had something to do with meeting up with Casey. Apparently, Casey couldn't have gone to the Bahamas because she doesn't have a passport, but Cindy could have very well flown on to meet up with her after dropping George off.

Lisa, that's exactly what I was thinking. He's been all over magazine covers, the news, interviews, the internet, etc. His stark-white hair is a.) easily his most distinguishing feature, and b.) his most readily changeable feature if trying to go incognito. I was just blown away how he was standing there having a casual conversation with some dudes like he wasn't just made infamous in the headlines for the last 8 weeks, as if people were too ignorant to notice him (or worse yet, he wanted people to notice him as part of a plan.)

Wade, I am also wondering all those same things.

I heard something on TV today (or was it last night? :scratchin) that had pictures of George and Cindy shopping for clothes while there. I kind of wondered where they were getting the extra money for vacation shopping with no jobs. I'm obviously not doing something right. :confused3

Thank goodness you saw the tatoo or you would have thought you lost your mind. Maybe they had him walk around Atlantis because they were actually staying somewhere else and this got news media off the track. Really, I cannot believe that the Enquirer has not got this as front page news although I have not seen this week's edition.

No time for George as there new headline was for Casey stating Wedding Bells for her. Plus they must of read that there was disser who had that covered about George any way.

If I was George, I wouldn't change my hair or try to go incognito. He did nothing wrong, he didn't molest Casey, he didn't cover anything up, he has nothing to hide.

Even though most of us on this thread can NOT stand Casey, in reality George and Cindy have a right to want to see her. It seems Cindy can't wrap her brain around the fact that Casey had something to do with Caylee's death. It is very sad :sad2:.

That's encouraging. Maybe Cindy wasn't able to meet up with Casey.

While on TMZ, I noticed this part about Baez and his negotiations with the networks:

NBC gave a statement to the New York Post, saying, "We've talked with Baez about getting an interview with Casey Anthony, but only under NBC News standards and conditions -- no payment, and absolutely no job offers for any member of her defense team."

Read carefully -- NBC is saying "no payment," but it refers to an "interview." That doesn't cover paying huge money for pictures, video, etc. That's S.O.P. in the network game -- and we're told that's one of the issues Geragos covered with Baez.

As we reported, as of Friday morning ... NBC was the frontrunner in nabbing Anthony.

I'm wondering just how many photos & pictures remain? GMA supposedly bought a large chunk of them and once the trial was over, quite a few others were released. Caylee wasn't even 3 when she died. I know more pictures are taken during the younger years but I wonder how many more pictures there really are?
