Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3

I would suggest taking a look at the first post in this thread for lots of great information on CBR. You would need to call reservations because the preferred rooms cost extra at CBR.

I had ressies at All Star Sports, preferred room up until yesterday. My TA called and said that Disney contacted her and was going to send us to CBR, now I am wondering if I will have a preferred room there, being I had one at the ***? Where are the peferred rooms? I really need something that is close to everything, and also preferrably on ground level since my husband is having a hard time walking since he is recovering from a broken foot. How do I find out if I can get a preferred room? And also, what about the vouchers that were given to me in my documents? They are all labled ***, not CBR. I need to be somewhere where it is easiest for my husband. I don't think he has any idea just how big DW is. There is lots of walking. Thank you.

You would need to contact your travel agent about the preferred room. Since you were paying extra for a preferred room at ASSp they should give you preferred at CBR, but I don't know if they would automatically. If Disney moved you to a standard room at CBR you should have your TA contact the WDW Special Reservations department at (407) 939-7807 and explain the situation (that you had booked at a value at the preferred price due to a physical handicap).

When you say vouchers, are you talking about the Disney's Magical Express vouchers? If that is the case don't worry -- your bags are routed based on your reservation number, not the resort name. To be safe, you can cross out All Star Sports and write Caribbean Beach Resort below it.

Hi all!:flower3: Just booked a pirate room-standard view for 3/28-4/4. My 2 boys 7,4 are HUGE pirate fans! I knoow nothing about this resort other than to pass it on the Disney bus. But, I can't wait to figure it all out!:thumbsup2 We took advantage of the 4/3 deal and we are getting the gift card-that part was great! I didn't expect to get it as we check in on the 28th. Any hints or tips woould be greatly appreciated as I think I'm a bit overwhelmed.:rotfl: Thanks!:)

Thank you for the valuable info. I contacted the Special Reservations department and they were very understanding and are supposed to get back to me about the situation in a few hours. They said that they will address this situation promptly. That was very nice of you to help me out.

Thanks again, Jen:worship: :flower3:

I'm currently reserved at POR Riverside and thinking of switching to a Pirate themed room. I'm sure it's in this thread but I don't have time to run thru all the pages. Does anyone know where the Pirate rooms are located? I'm just curious if it would be a mile walk to the main feature pool from one of those rooms.

Thank you so much for any help!

The pirate rooms are in Trinidad South. We stayed in TS in Sept. and the walk was about 7 minutes to the pool/food court area. The bldgs. are spaced out in TS; another bldg. may add another minute to the time.

THANK YOU! I really appreciate the help. Did you like the resort?

Hi everyone :wave2:

Until today we were booked at POR but my DS13 begged me to switch to the CBR. He didn't really want to go to WDW again ( Crazy!:confused3 ) so I agreed and switched. I really like the way that POR looks but I'm excited about CBR too. I am happy that CBR lets you upgrade to preferred rooms. I like having the option of being closer to the food courts.

I have a question after looking through this thread though.... How are the 2 slides? Are they long? Short? Straight? Curvy? Are they for adults and teenagers or just little ones?

I'm thinking of going a day early and spending the first day at the pool and relaxing on the beach.

Thanks for the help!

We just got back a little over a week ago, so I asked my DD11 about this (the slides.) She said that they were "short and fast." She said that "one was made up of a tunnel, and the other was open-aired, just hidden between rocks.";) She really enjoyed the pool and OPR, and she can't wait to visit again this Christmas.:thumbsup2

CBR experts....I have a question:confused3

1) Are we crazy to stay in one of the new pirate rooms in August? Is the walk really 10 min? We have never been in the summer...and I am concerned about the walk.

Just a reminder.

Martinique quiet pool closed Jan. 5-30, 2009
Trinidad South quiet Pool closed Feb. 9- Feb. 20, 2009

We're certainly not experts but my DH timed himself walking from the furtherest most Trindad South building to the food court and it took him 15 minutes in comfortable weather.

Kinda an anal question but if we recieved a room in the closest building in TS to the pool how much closer do you think that is from the farthest building to the pool in TS, is the TS area really that spread out that it would make a difference ? Thanks Jessiepirate:

Thank you for asking your daughter :goodvibes

Does anyone know if the slides are more appropriate for kids or if teenagers and adults would be able to use them too? My DS13 will be 14 when we go and he is already about 4 inches taller than me, honestly looks like he is 16.

I'm planning on spending the first day relaxing at the pool at beach. He is worried the pools are for little kids and he will look silly.

Thanks!!

It's about 1000ft between the nearest and furthest buildings. See the scale on the below image:

:rotfl2: It would be 15, but CBR was closed one time for renovation, so we stayed at the Poly ;) and I've had no problem returning to CBR after the Poly :)

I am so glad to hear that! We stayed at the Poly last year (upgraded to concierge) and I have been nervous about returning to CBR. This will be my 6th stay at CBR.
