I found a few more old pics that I had uploaded on photobucket.

One of the Martinique buildings:

CBR entranceway: (Notice all of the tall shrubbery. Keeps you from seeing the "outside world" and immerses you in the tropical feel of the resort)

One of the Disney buses:

Another pictures of Martinique. You can see some of the landscaping in this pic too.

You're welcome. As you can see from my son in one of the other pics, he gives the CBR a thumbs up!

Thanks so much for the photos! We leave 4 weeks from Saturday. It was very clever and helpful to take a picture of your filled fridge. It gives me an idea of what i'll be able to fit in it. We plan on stopping at the grocery store to get milk, soda etc. It was so helpful to see what you could fit in it.

You're Welcome. It took overnight for the fridge to really cool down....but it wasn't broken....it was just turned off when we got to the room. In fact my bottled waters in the back were freezing up a bit when I had the temp on the coldest setting. But I'm sure all the fridges are different in how well they work.

Our fridge didn't seem to be cooling when we first arrived so I opened the door of the dresser for a bit. Then, it started cooling immediately. As a matter of fact, we had a few of the boxed juices and milk and they froze a bit. It made a nice slushy drink.

I know this has been asked at some point so please don't yell if you've answered this a million times:scared:

As far as the rooms that have been refurbished to Nemo rooms...is there a recent list of which buildings have been done and which ones are still the old rooms?

this is exactly what I was coming here to ask. I plan on booking tonight and want to have all the infor that I can.

Martinique, Barbados and Aruba are done. Jamaica is either in-process or done. Trinidad North will be next, and will be last. Trinidad South has been redone as the pirate themed rooms.

Thanks for the info!

Too funny- Disney just called to confirm my reservations (never had them call me before) and I asked which buildings had been refurbished with the Nemo theme (I said specifically NOT the new pirate rooms). The guy had no idea what I was talking about and said CBR was refurbished 7 years ago and they weren't scheduled to be refurbished, except for the Pirate rooms. He called CBR and they told him it was only finished in Trinidad North and South. I think they were getting confused and thought I meant the Pirate rooms. Sometimes I wonder about these Cast Members! :upsidedow

Hey everyone, thanks for all the great cbr info!!!

We are booking cbr for feb 8-13th and I wanted to know if anyone could recommend the best way to guarantee martinique 1st floor. I am in my 1st trimester and am exhasted as it is. I know I will not want to do the far hikes to the other bldgs and the stairs lugging all our crap.

Also, are the corner rooms better?

TIA

There are six buildings in Martinique. If you want to be in one of the three closest buildings to the food court and main pool you will have to book a preferred room. The non-preferred rooms in Martinique are 21, 22, and 23. If visiting the resort food court and main pool isn't a prority, you would probably do better by being in a building close to one of the bus stops (see here for a map).

As for getting a first floor room, if you have a medical reason for not wanting to climb stairs you can call WDW Special Needs Reservations at (407) 939-7807 after you've booked your trip. They are the only ones that can guarentee you a 1st floor room.

Corner rooms are nice in that they have more windows, but if you request a corner room it may limit your ability to also be close and 1st floor (there are a lot more close 1st floor rooms than close 1st floor corner rooms).

Thanks!

We are renting a car so I am not worried about the busses so much. I figured if anything we could drive to the main pool.

Thanks for the phone number I will call.

My main req would be 1st floor then martinique.

I am booking a water view ( std not available) Doesn't that mean it's automatically preferred or is that another $15????

We had a corner room on the first floor....My DH closes all the curtains for the windows when we are on the first floor because everyone that walks by can look in. So for us there was really no advantage to having the extra window. Just something to think about.

No.

At CBR, preferred location specifically means being in one of the 6 buildings closest to Old Port Royale (CBR has 33 guest room buildings arranged into 6 villages). Every village has some water view rooms, because every village has its own pool and every village has some lake frontage. Therefore, having a water view room has NOTHING to do with the room's proximity to Old Port Royale.

If you booked a water view room, you are guaranteed a room that has a view of the lake or of your village's quiet pool.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you CAN'T guarantee a water view room in a preferred location building. There are some rooms like that, but they can't be specifically reserved that way, as there is no room category called "preferred location water view." The people who get those rooms are just lucky, sprinkled with pixie dust. You are not charged two upcharges when you get lucky and happen to get a water view room in a preferred location building ... you pay only for what you reserved. And like I said above, you actually CAN'T pay two separate upcharges to guarantee yourself a water view room in a preferred location building.

Three of Martinique's six buildings are preferred location buildings. If you do get your request for Martinique met, chances are it will be in one of the NON-preferred location buildings in Martinique (buildings 21, 22 or 23).

 honestly, I never understand this thinking. We've had a corner room at every moderate stay since 1988 (6 CBR stays, 1 POR and 3 FQ, other stays usally at a deluxe, sometimes POP) and no matter which floor, never close the curtains. No one truly looks in - some may glance and once in awile a child might take a look...but unless you are walking around the room naked  no one would really see anything within the 2/3 seconds they walk by. :thumbsup2

Yeah, we would leave the curtins open and enjoy the light.

Any ideas of good 1st floor romms to request with a good water view?

I would rather have the 1st floor than the preferred location.

I will request Martinique and don't care what bldg. Just 1st floor.

Any ideas??????

Are there some views that you can see epcot fireworks from?

I have a question. We need a playpen for my son with special needs, because he is tube fed and if for some reason they are out of playpens, we cannot sleep with him because we run the risk of rolling over the tube an possibly pulling the tube out when we are sleeping with him. Do you recommend I call theis number also? This is the first time I have heard of a special needs reservation line.

Yes, absolutely! You must already have a reservation to call special needs - they will help with any medical needs for your room. If for some reason the first CM you speak with is not helpful, please try again. Feel free to pm me if I can be of any help.

Thanks so much! I just called and they were wonderful and very accomodating. We are staying in a pirate room and I know these are in Trinidad South so I requested a building 34 and 35, because our little guy does have a heart condition and because of the walk to pool if we need to get back to the room for supplies at least we closer.
