Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3

Did you ask at check-in or right after you realized you had a second floor room if you could switch? Or were all first floor rooms sold out or all first floor preferred rooms? On our last trip (Dec 07) we had asked for a specific room (we had gotten room 51xx three years in a row - it was a smoking room at the time so odds good) but due to a typo on the request we ended up with room 15xx. We asked for and got a room in our preferred building. They are more than happy to accomodate you if you ask and they have the rooms.

Unfortunately, I sent in DH to check in while I stayed with our sleeping baby. I believe he requested at check-in (or he said he did anyway :sad2: )
Maybe next trip he will make more of an effort to get a first floor since he knew how aggrevated I was.
DH is not one to ask for things - we had to go to the Contemporary twice just to pay bills! He didn't call the front desk at the CBR to ask why our internet connection wasn't working. . He knows better next time!

:lovestruc CBR is still my overall favorite resort!:lovestruc

... but kep in mind that once you reach your limit you can just authorize another room charge. At the Values, for example, you are not limited to room-charging $500 for your entire stay, just limited to $500 at a time. When you reach your limit, they will charge your credit/debit card, and then you can verbally authorize (like by phone) another $500 room charge, and so on.

And yes, at the Mods the upper limit is $1,000 and at the Deluxes it's $1,500. It's also possible to request a LOWER amount, if you desire.

Our last stay was in Dec. 2006. Once we reached the $1000.00 and got cut off, I called the front desk and was told they could not increase the amount.

Maybe it was in the way you asked it. No, you can't increase it. But that full amount gets charged to your card (if you backed it up with plastic), and then you can open a new room charge account.

Or the CM was just plain wrong, and that stinks. There's no question at all that you can continue to set up new room charges once the old one is satisfied. You just got stuck with an odd CM.

Subscribing.

I just made our deposit for our December trip this morning. I haven't been to WDW since the 80's and this is a first trip for everyone else. I am so excited. :yay:

Good to know. If it happens again, I'll pursue it differently. Seems like the CM should have known to suggest reopening another account since we had two days left. Thanks for the tip :)

Hi Everyone, sorry if this has been asked before but I could not find the answer and I hope some here can help me.

We will be staying at the CBR in less than two weeks and I would like to know if I could give my Disney Rewards Card at check-in as if it were the credit card to be used for room charges or do I need to carry this with us to use the points I have earned?

I have heard from someone that stayed at a delux resort say they were able to do this. Is it really that easy? (please say yes!)

I know this is an odd question, but can someone tell be if you can purchase beer at the little store in the main building where the food court is?

Yes, you can. I know that they sell six packs for around $12.00, as well as, individual beer. You might be surprised what they sell in there - it's like a mini convenience store. :thumbsup2

Thanks you just made my husbands day!! He hates crowds and the heat! So knowing he can come back to a cold beer will make it a little less stressful!!

Even better if you get back to the resort before the Banana Cabana closes - draft beer! Or any cocktail (but you have to like rum ;) ). My DH always makes a stop at night and picks us up some treats while he is out...good deal! :thumbsup2

Does anyone know the times the Disney buses run at CBR?:confused3
Buses run continuously. There's no such thing as a time table or a schedule for buses. A bus for each destination will roll by about every 15-20 minutes or so.

Safetymom, any chance your going to be at CBR to update us on the pool rehab going on? I noticed your last placeholder was from Feb. Im interested too see whats been done for the past month! :thumbsup2

Thanks for that:thumbsup2 , I didn't word it too well. I meant to ask when the first and last buses run......

Does anyone know when they expect the pool rehab to be completed by? I read mid September, but is there any actual date? We are thinking of going 9.22, and my DD keeps asking about here or OKW but I only want to stay here if the new pool is ready for the kids to use.
