Thanks Safetymom! I loved having a chance to see all the progress. 25yo DD is meeting us for a couple of days at CBR-she is looking forward to the trip as much as we are. Disney is a great place for kids of all ages!! :goodvibes

thanks for the pictures!! we also got the letter this week about the pool and our trip is next week. I knew ahead of time about the pool and even stopped to see the progress back in March so I was aware about it. I'm a little bummed about the hot tub bc its nice to stick your feet in after a long day but I guess we'll have to make one out of the tub in the room lol.

I'm looking forward to some much needed relaxation and I think CBR will be wonderful!

.....does anyone know where DME drops off at? The check-in/out building or the food building? My parents are flying in and are taking DME but I'll have my car to pick them up when they get into CBR.

There are 6 other pools so I can see being upset but not livid. I think everyone when they travel bear some responsibility for researching information so they are prepared.

CBR is a beautiful resort and so are the quiet pools. I wouldn't let it ruin a Disney vacation.

I guess I should elaborate regarding not notifying people sooner since based on these boards this has been knowledge to Disney for many months. I realize there are other pools, but when traveling with a toddler the kiddie pool is important. My son is far too young to go swimming in a pool by himself, but would happily play for hours in the kiddie pool. We travel to Disney once or twice a year, but because I am a teacher we usually are only able to do a long weekend which means we are on GO-MODE. I often feel like I need a vacation after I return.

This upcoming trip was designed to be relaxing. We had planned to go to the parks in the morning and spend the afternoons at the pool. If the kiddie pool were open we could have enjoyed very leisure afternoons with DH and I taking turns watching my son play happily in the little pool while the other one reads in a lounge chair.

There may be six other pools, but those pools require one of us to be in the pool holding him and he never wants to stay in more than 15 minutes.

Because it is school vacation week the resort is now booked to capacity and the ONLY other resort that now has availability is SSR (significant price difference from a value or moderate).

Also, even if there were availability at another hotel, you lose you Magical Express transportation if you switch resorts too close to your arrival dates.

I truly don't mean that to sound rude and I hope my post doesn't come across that way. I'm just trying to clarify why it can be a VERY big deal to some people to get notice that an amenity is closed at a hotel within weeks of departure. People invest a lot of money into a Disney vacation and want the best trip they can have. In my opinion it is unfair of Disney to wait until 2 weeks prior to notify guests when they have known about it for months (esp. if it is no longer an option to switch to another resort).

Thank you so much for the updated pictures. We are looking forward to our trip and they added a little extra excitement!

As long as you are still staying on property you do not lose DME if you switch resorts. All you do is call and mention that you are now staying at a different resort.

I'm happy to report that this is completely untrue. I'm not sure where you heard it or how you've assumed it, but let me assure you it is 100% inaccurate.

You could switch resorts 12 hours before leaving and you'd still be using DME without any problems.

In the briefest of ways, let me try to explain why it really doesn't matter to Disney. There are two reasons they need you to make a DME reservation for your arrival: it is a requirement of their contract with the airport authority (in a concession to local ground transportation concerns), and it gives them data of roughly how many people will be going to what resorts at what times (so they can plan ahead for dispatching and personnel and things like that).

As long as you have a DME reservation, it doesn't matter how many times you change the location of your resort reservation.

Can you have 5 in a room with a rollaway? DD will be turning 5......would love to stay IFAP.

No. The only moderate that allows 5 is Port Orleans Riverside in the Alligator Bayou section.

With the main pool rehab going on, I was wondering if the tattoo stand is still there? Also, is the pool bar is open?

Does anyone have any pics of views from your room? I will be staying a CBR in a little over a month as was curious if anyone had any water view pics...

I'm guessing since the main pool is closed, that the kiddie pool is also closed? How deep are the 6 other pools?

This year we are staying at the Poly but in 2010 we will be back at our favorite resort, Caribbean Beach for 9 nights. Will the new pool have zero entry?

No need to bump. This is always in a sticky at the top of the resorts board. :)

I haven't heard if the pool will be zero entry yet.

Something special is happening with the pool, the cm said she could not tell me but she said it will be great. I think it's good. Could someone else find out what is going on with the pool?

I have seen the drawings of the pool. The main pool is much larger and the pirate slide area is going to be great. Anyone can ask at lobby concierge in Old Port Royale to see the drawing.
