I have a Pirate room booked for February and keep reading about how long of a walk it is to the food court. If Trinidad North is preferred like Martinique and Trinidad South is next in line, is the walk about the same as it would be from Barbados or across the lake in Jamaica or Aruba?

The walk from Trinidad South is a little longer. Probably a 7-10 minute walk, depending which building in Trinidad South you're in. You'll love CBR!!:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Its not really a long walk at all and its such a beautiful resort, the scenery is worth it!! I've stayed in Trinadad North and South

I don't agree with PPs. I just got back from CBR. We ended up in Trinidad South (not by choice.) The walk is about 10 minutes for an adult walking at a normal pace. It was far enough that I didn't feel like going to the main building to get my mug refilled or get coffee in the morning. It was also too far for my kids to want to walk to the main pool. Yeah you could take the internal shuttle but it could take 20 minutes for that bus to show up and then you have to drive around the entire resort to get to the main building.

Sorry to sound like the "Debbie Downer". I just thought you should hear the other side.

From my room in Barbados, it was about a 7 minute walk to the main area. From Trindad South, its more like ten, but no more than ten for me at a leisurely pace. Yes, if you are in say bldg. 14 of Barbados (I was in 16 so closer in), it wouldn't be that big of a difference. I can see how some people would not like this, for me it was fine. It is a lovely walk at least! One thing about it, TS has a great quiet pool, its own bus stop and its very quiet and peaceful back there. Its only going to the main area that may present a problem. And again, it may very well not.

By the way, I didn't stay in Trinidad South, but for some reason my daughter took a liking to that pool (probably because she frquently had it all to herself) and we would walk over there to swim. Past the pool in Martinque and Old Port Royale! I had dreaded we might get that section but found to my surprise the walk wasn't that much longer than our room in Barbados. I liked that area so much, next time I would request it. Although if its all Pirate theme now, I probably wouldn't!

I think the Trinidad South is a longer walk although I don't think it's too much longer.

I've never stayed in Barbabos so I can't comment on that but depending which building you get in Aruba or Jamaica the walk is shorter because some buildings are very close to the bridge across the lake so it's like a little short cut.

That said, I was surprised they put the pirate rooms there seeing that the cost is more and it's not the closest location. JMO of course.

That's Disney's marketing genius. Most people don't want Trinidad South so they re-theme the rooms to something that a lot of people will want. Now they have people lining up to pay more to stay somewhere that nobody used to want. Genius.

Ah-Ha!!!! Thanks!

I have to say that based on the internal shuttle with this resort I wouldn't stay there again. We stayed in Jamaica so the walk wasn't bad but my sister stayed in Promenade, what a pain.

Not sure where Promenade would be... the villages at CBR are Barbados, Martinique, Trinidad North and South, Jamaica, and Aruba. That's it.:confused3

:thumbsup2 I happen to like the Trinadad Bldgs, I thought they were quiet and the pools were nice. We used the main pool a few times and it was nice, my kids actually preferred the quiet pools. We never minded the walk. My kids were 2 & 4 and 7 1/2 & 10 the two times we stayed there.
I think the Pirate rooms sound really cool, my kids would totally love that! Enjoy your trip
