Thanks everyone for all the great answers to my questions. I'm especially glad about the Mosquitos. I didn't have any problems at aoa in 2012, but it was brand new and recently cleared etc. glad to know even the mature landscaping resorts don't have problems. The Mosquitos always find me. I had one from my honeymoon in Belize that was like a small bird. The bite left a mark on my neck for about four months. And that's wasn't even the worst of it.

I'm a mosquito magnet too but they've never bothered me while at the CBR. As a matter of fact, I don't think that I've ever seen them either.

Just got back from a 10 day (child free) stay at CBR....it couldn't have been more perfect! Stayed at Martinique (preferred) building 25 first floor.
It was a 1 to 2 minute walk to the bus stop and never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus, all depends when you arrive...could be a 1 minute wait for an MK bus or 15 minute wait if you just missed the last bus. Maybe a 3-4 minute walk to the food court.
I can't think of one complaint about CBR, this was our 3rd stay there in 10 years and each trip was special. This year they have CM's who engage the "kids" at the main pool daily in activities that keep them busy for hours....Kaitlyn deserves a special shout out for her patience....a CM disney can be proud of.
The bar was still staffed with the long time employees...Mike, Stacey and Joanne are a hoot....it's a nice place to relax.
Conditions at CBR were perfect for us...no rats, cockroaches or CM's with attitudes....all work hard to make your stay enjoyable.
Jamaica is filling up with containers ready to start the refurb.....maybe 15 or 20 containers fill the area along with quite a few port-a-potties.
Anyway.....CBR was great and I highly recommend it! :)

Thanks for the review! It's always good to hear that somebody had a great time and stay. Thanks also for the update on the upcoming refurb. Sounds like it won't be long before they start.

Shoot, I only requested Jamaica buildings- I wonder if they will even be putting people in Jamaica in 3 weeks? MaybeI should put in requests for Aruba too?

Just booked my trip for me, my mom, and my aunt at CBR September 6-14! This will be our first stay at CBR and I am looking forward to it.

One question (so far)...what is the first bus stop picked up at? There are multiple stops at CBR, right? We'll want to use that one...or at least I will feel more comfortable getting on at the first stop...because I have a walker and will need the ramp to get on the bus. I hate getting on the bus when there are already a bunch of people on because it always seems like such a hassle. I always wait and am the last person off for the same reason. But if you guys could help me out and let me know which stop is first that would be a big help for planning.

Very exciting to hear that the rooms are getting a refurb. Not that it matters much to us if we have a refurbed room or not...but it's exciting to think it just might be a brand new room. :)

I'm betting that they'll put the ones who request Jamaica in another location if the work has begun. I may call them and ask to change my request to another village since Jamaica is the one that I requested when I did online check-in.

It all depends on what entrance the buses use. If they use the side entrance, Jamaica will be first, followed by Aruba, Barbados, Martinique, Old Port Royale, Trinidad North and then Trinidad South. If they use the front entrance, the first stop will be Martinique, followed by Old Port Royale, Trinidad North, Trinidad South, Jamaica, Aruba and lastly Barbados.

So, I would suggest requesting either Jamaica or Martinique.

So its sound like from previous posts that room refurbishments are going to be getting underway shortly. I know its said they will include the queen size beds. I also heard they may include some type of murphy bed like POR, is that true? If that is true will there be some type of announcement? We currently are in 2 rooms, but if they had rooms that fit 5 we could go down to 1 room for at least part of our trip.

well shoot...I requested Jamiaca too.. I may call sometime through the week. ( we leave the 23rd) and make some changes..possibly Aruba. I really dont want to walk past dumpsters every day. quote my husband "but honey, they are magical dumpsters" !!! lol

No word yet on whether or not the rooms will be getting murphy/let down beds. There were pictures posted a year ago that showed the "mock" room (as I always say "mock" is my word, not the one that the poster with the pictures used but I can't think of another word to use) and it looked like there may possibly be a let down bed in the dresser which looked similar to the ones at POR. I do know that I was told by one of the resort managers that the beds would be changed out for queens.

Magical dumpsters! :lmao: I think that I'm going to call tomorrow morning and put in another request. We were in Martinique last trip and I wanted to be in a different village this trip. Not for any real reason other than, "I just wanna.":rotfl:

Thanks so much for that...it helps a lot. Either way looks like I will probably have to deal with getting on a bus with people already on it at some point. Not a big deal...just difficult sometimes. Thanks!

You are quite welcome. My mother, while not on a walker, had troubles stepping up some of the steeper bus steps. We found that most guests were extremely accommodating in allowing her time to board and giving up their seats for her. Hopefully, you'll encounter the same sort of people during your trip.

"Magic dumpster", lol. I wonder if all the workers sing while they work like the seven dwarfs. Getting excited to checkin this Sunday.

I may be the only one to say this, but I don't want a room with queen beds. We'll be there with a 2 1/2 yo and a 7 month old and would prefer to have the floor space since we're predicting we'll split up and each have a kid in bed with us.

I guess that during our honeymoon stay at WL when our room was above the rubish it was "Magical Rubish" :rotfl:

The full/double beds never bothered us even though we sleep on a queen at home. Were you thinking about bringing an air bed/mattress? If so, I bet that there will still be room for a twin size even with the queen beds. The rooms at the CBR are a bit larger than the other moderates.

We will be visiting in November and were unable to book at Coronado Springs. Ive read a lot of horrible reviews about CBR and the mold issue. The whole family has severe allergy problems and my daughter has asthma and I don't know if i want to take the chance with her. Is there any word on when the updated rooms should be complete or in what buildings have been done. If I could get booked in one of the refurbished rooms I would feel much better booking.
