Caribbean Beach FAQ Part IV

We were in Aruba 51 last time (the closest Aruba bldg to OPR). It took 3 minutes to walk to OPR. It took 4 minutes (in the opposite direction of OPR) to walk to the Aruba bus stop -- which is near the furthest out Aruba building (56) http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/cbrmap.htm So I would say only about 7 minute walk from the furthest Aruba building. :goodvibes

Thanks for that, can't wait not going until November.

FWIW, I've stayed in Aruba 51 twice, once last week and once in Aug./Sept. As far as bus service and the quiet pool, you're better off going to the Jamaica pool and bus stop, it's closer and it was usually the first pick up stop and first drop off stop. Just be sure to check the map when you check in. Going to your own bus stop and quiet pool isn't always the most convenient or closest.

I'm wanting to purchase the autograph books were you can also put in pictures. They were in the gift shop when we stayed at All-Stars two years ago. Does anyone know if they sell them in CBR gift shop?

Thanks!

Not sure if they have the specific one you are looking for but they do have both autograph books and photograph books in the CBR store.

Last August we purchased Princess autograph books with photo slots in them for our girls. So, I sure they sell others too.

We like the hammock on Martinique beach. We love to watch the fireworks from this hammock.

Thank you Momof2disneyboys and safetymom!!

I totally forgot a about Illuminations! Can you please tell me if there's a particular "island" that faces epcot? Better yet, is there a specific building that's better suited to watch illuminations from your balcony or bedroom?

That would be awesome if there is. Thank you, can't wait for my first visit in 3 days!! :)

Hope y'all don't mind me hopping in here! We're probably looking at a 7 night stay at CBR! I had my heart set on BWI but we simply couldn't swing the cost so we're downgrading, but this seems like a pretty impressive downgrade! So I'm trying to get excited for it! :thumbsup2

If any of you guys have any advice or can help me get the most out of this resort, let me have it! Should I request a building?? On average, how long is the bus ride to MK from CBR? If I took the first bus of the day from there around what time would we get to MK?

Thanks all! Looking at some pictures now, I want to rent some BOATS! :woohoo:

We actually used both bus stops. . . We would use the Aruba stop going to the parks (that way we were walking in the direction the buses were going and if we saw the bus we wanted approaching the stop we could speed up our pace to catch it!) and the Jamaica stop when coming back from the parks. We were right in the middle!

Once the bus leaves CBR it is an 11 minute bus ride on average to MK.

But you'll want to add in about 20 minutes to wait on a bus (usually the buses come much quicker than that, but just in-case) and add in 8-10 minutes to make all the stops within the resort (which would only take that long if you happen to get on at the very first stop).

With all that considered, we usually allow about 45 minutes to get to the parks from any resort. . .

The first MK bus will come very early. . . Usually before 7:00 because of the early character meals that are offered.

The beaches of Martinique, Trinidad North, Old Port Royale and Trinidad South pretty much face towards Epcot. There may be individual areas of guest buildings in other villages could also provide a decent view, but that will be affected by not only the direction you are facing, but also whether or not there are bushes and trees in the way.

Do they still sell the coconuts in the gift shop that you can mail like a postcard? If so - How much do they cost? They already include postage on them, right?

TIA! Just 9 more days!!!!!

They still sell them. Was just there and saw them on Friday. Don't know how much to ship though, sorry. Enjoy your upcoming trip!

If I am remembering correctly, they require priority mail postage which means the cost of postage would depend on where you were mailing them to.

Thank You!!! I will remember this. :)

:banana::banana::woohoo:CBR here we come!!!! :woohoo::banana::banana:

We are down to 18 days!!

Questions:

1. can you buy wine or beer in the market?

2. Using ME. Flight lands at 8:05pm - does than mean my luggage won't come until 11:00 pm?

3. What all do you pack in your carry-on (we are flying) ? I was thinking bathing suits, PJs and toothbrushes.

Thanks guys - first time staying on property in over 20 years and won't be renting a car - first time doing that. I want to be prepared.

I was wondering if anyone could please tell me how far in advance can you use on-line check in? Also if we booked our whole 2 week stay at CBR through a travel agent if we can even use on-line check-in? We are very sorry if this question was already asked I could not find it any where..:confused3

Your travel agent will give you a special link to check in. They technically own the reservation until you check in.

1. yes, you can buy beer and wine, but no hard alchohol.

2. they say allow for 3 hrs...meaning it could come earlier but there are no guarantees.

3. we also pack any electronics (camera, ipod, video camera etc.) along with a change of clothes and toothbrushes. Bathing suit might not be a big deal unless you plan on swimming that first night.

We had no problems booking our ADR's...Do we need to do anything special for our ME at the airport our travel agent stated that she already reserved us for that is there a number we can call to check..
