I certainly don't think so. We paid for a standard room last year and we were given an upgrade to Martinique 26 which is a preferred location. I did online check-in for that stay so I don't think it really matters.

Phew! I did the online check in last night and I would be bummed if I thought it might take away the chances of something even more magical happening (although I doubt we will get that lucky). ;)

You never know. I just go in not expecting anything so that I am not bummed if I don't.

Hi everyone. I'll be staying at the CBR for the first time in about a week. :woohoo:

Just had a couple of rookie questions. I requested Jamacia building 45 because it seemed a short bridge walk away from the OPR. I booked a king size bed room without a water view. I was wondering if anyone knew if some of the king bed rooms are corner rooms? Do king bed rooms provide better views then the parking lot? Lastly, when you request an "island," it's not a guarantee right? I wouldn't mind being placed in a preferred room. :) Aruba 51 seems nice too.

Anyway, thank you for taking the time.

Do the quiet pools have towels???

last year we stayed at POR and there were towels at the quiet pools...so just checking...thanks;)

No, they say to bring your room towels, and those will be replaced.

King bed rooms are spread throughout the resort, so the view could be just about anything. Having said that, even a room facing a parking lot can very easily have a great view of foliage -- the landscaping is so lush at CBR that everything is beautiful!!

And you're right, requests for certain villages are just that -- requests. No guarantee.

Have a great trip! :cool1:

You will also find carts with towels on them in the walkways of the buildings near the ice machines / mousekeeping room. We've taken some from those as well when we went to the quiet pools. I can't remember if there was a towel return there though.

We (Me, hubby, son and daughter) leave for CBR on Sunday. I can not wait and after reading this thread "cover to cover" I am so happy with my decision to stay here. Thanks to everyones knowledge and advice I know our trip will be awesome.

I do have a question. My son has asthma and we requested to be as far away from the smoking courtyard as possible. However, do they allow smoking around the quiet pools and main pool?

TIA
Ann Marie

Thank you for the response. You're right, it does look like a beautiful resort.

I have a silly question in which I think the answer is "any" but here goes. What hammock has the best view and is closest to the water? Where is it located?

Thanks to anyone who really thinks about and answers my silly question. :upsidedow

Have a wonderful time!

Only my experience - I never even FOUND the smoking area in Trinidad North my last stay. As for pools - I don't think you can by TN quiet pool, but I THINK there was smoking by the main pool/bar area - but that may have been back in 2006. I was there in Oct '09, having a drink with my son(!), and I honestly can't remember if I could smoke there or not back then. :confused3 Sorry! I was certainly no help! :guilty:

Hello guys,

I called yesterday to make a payment and add May 28th to our reservation. I had booked Country Inn LBV for our arrival day but for $70 more i just added another night to CBR preferred room. SO it's 8 nights for us. Oh and i put in our request for martinique but didn't request a bldg since it doesn't seem like much difference b/t 24, 25 and 26.

Thanks for everyone's help.:goodvibes

We're stopping at the CBR for the first time this year, just wondering how long the walk is from Jamaica or Aruba to OPR across the bridge and not assuming we would get Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51, but maybe one of the farthest blocks in each island?

We were in Aruba 51 last time (the closest Aruba bldg to OPR). It took 3 minutes to walk to OPR. It took 4 minutes (in the opposite direction of OPR) to walk to the Aruba bus stop -- which is near the furthest out Aruba building (56) http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/cbrmap.htm So I would say only about 7 minute walk from the furthest Aruba building. :goodvibes

We like the hammock on the Jamaica beach -- the one closest to the playground. Great views of the water, the bridge, the buildings across the lake, the playground (if you have kids using it), and IllumiNations. :cloud9:

I'm wanting to purchase the autograph books were you can also put in pictures. They were in the gift shop when we stayed at All-Stars two years ago. Does anyone know if they sell them in CBR gift shop?

Thanks!
