I was just searching for horn music info so I could hear it. People were saying they liked to hear it. Doesn't seem that big of a deal to me. I guess I'll have to wait until I actually hear it on a ship. Then I may feel like them and have fond memories about it after I'm home. Anyway, in doing that search, I found something about a magic pixie dust sound before all the captains announcements. What does this sound like. I did you tube searches but all I seem to find is the captain actually talking and not the sound before.

Wait until you do.... I get the chills (likely due to what that horn represents!!!!)

It helps that most everyone around you is in a frenzy of joy!!!

Search ringtones on here and there is one called dcl &other Disney ringtones I've created. This has some of the things you want to see.

I guess it represents that I'm on the ship. That is always a good thing. Other than that, I don't even know when they use the horn.

I found the the announcement chime. When you wish upon a star...cute! The thread I found it on mentioned them saying ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls after. Is this what they say every time?

My tone only has the music.... they don't always say the intro. If the cruise director is speaking, then mostly yes. If the captain is speaking, he usually gets right to the point (weather, speed, motion sickness issues, scenery).

Try searching "Disney Cruise Horn" on You Tube, there are a number of examples of the ships :boat: horns.

I had the announcement chime as my text tone for awhile. When I would get a text, DH would always follow it with "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this is NAHT-AH-LEE, your CROOOOZE DIE-RECTOHR!!" in his best British accent.

The announce chime is my text tone, too. Makes me think I'm getting a really nice text. But it's usually my husband with things like," pick up toilet paper on way home".

I didn't think I'd gotten THAT into our disney cruise until last week. We were in Vancouver and as I love to do we took a walk to Canada Place Saw a carnival ship, oh how fun, then walked further and oh wow it was the Wonder.

Hung out, wandered along the pier, looked at the War of 1812 stuff at the pier, ogled at the ship and how it's different than the Dream....and then they sounded the horn. Ack ack I burst into tears. No lie. Holy wow that was unexpected. Did the hand flapping away the tears and everything.

We also got to hear many announcements and the chimes before, and ended up hanging out for upwards of two hours until she got under way.

Really neat sounds, even when you aren't onboard, though it might only work if you've already been on the cruise.

The craziest was one time when I was on a tour in Gibraltar we were up on part of the Rock and heard the announcement chime from up there. Everyone of us all looked at each other to see if we all heard it or we were just crazy. The tour guide seemed confused about it and we explained to her what the sound was.

This picture gives you an idea of how far we were from the ship.

I went on the other thread and tried to download but it would not let me download to my computer.

I really would love to get those - I'll have to keep trying.

Linda

Thank you! :thumbsup2

I downloaded it onto ilivid, it's now on my "download manager".

How do I get it to my phone? I have an IPHONE (Verizon provider).

I did it using this information from that thread:

To get it on your iPhone, you must first save it to your computer. Then open iTunes, click File, Add File to library. You'll then see it in your Tones area on iTunes. Connect your iPhone to iTunes and drag the tone onto your phone.

Good luck!
