....... now I really like Mad World........ but I only need to hear it played once and it just keeps going over and over in my head, and I find myself singing and humming it over and over too.

You might say it is possibly because I like it but there are other songs that do that which I'm not keen on - Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" for example - you are right there Kylie :rolleyes:
Na na na ....... na na ne na na ......... aarrgghh :crazy: !

Do you have any that just won't go away?

Not me...but DW has the same problem with "sweetness" by Michelle Gayle.

When it was released it used to drive her mad. She hears it once and for days all she can hear is the chorus.

I downloaded it and played it at high volumes recently cos I'm nice like that :D

Shirley,

Have you seen the film Donnie Darko that 'Mad World' comes from? It's rather weird, but very good. And the song lyrics just fit so well. In fact, my teenage son was surprised that it hadn't been specially written for the film.

I recommend it - if you like a film you can think about for ages after while you try to understand it!

::yes::
I absolutely loathe and detest 'Tie a Yellow Ribbon', but if I hear any of it I'll be humming it for days :rolleyes:

Now that you've got me thinking about it, I'll have to go and listen to something else to get it out of my head now! Aaaaarrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh!

This thread ought to come with a warning.

Thanks Shirley! Now it's mine! :crazy:

Can't get you out of my head!

At work we have a running joke with YMCA, or indeed any song by the village people.
As soon as it is mentioned its with me for weeks.......Oh darn:crazy:

Gosh, I have this problem with Gina G's Ooh Ah Just a Little Bit! It's so annoying, like I seriously thought that song was going round in my head forever!!

Back now from my xmas trip to good old Florida, and right down in the dumps about it too! On crutches which makes me feel sorry for myself too!

The song that I keep getting stuck in my head is the Fast Food Rockers. Altogether now, "McDonald's McDonald's Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut!"
I work with children and they love this song, me, I can't stand it.

Well thanks a bunch, Hilary:crazy: :crazy: Thought the counselling for that song had worked:hyper:

Hmmm . . . that's a toughy, Shirley because with me it tends to be the last record I heard on the radio before I go somewhere. Have to say I don't like the new version of Mad World, but that's because a love the original and Tears for Fears.

Annie, :crazy:, as our US friends would say - "You're welcome!" ;)

for me, it's normally the song that wakes us up on the radio that morning so I'm in trouble if it's one I really hate lol :tongue: if the Macarena ever comes on tho, that doesn't leave for ages and it drives me mad:hyper:

Anz :earsgirl:

STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!

This thread is lethal. ::yes::

So why do I keep looking? :scratchin

"I've got you baby." Just like in Ground Hog Day.
Actually, dw hated Mama Mia because all she could think of for two weeks after were Abba songs. Of course, to make things worse, I bought her the soundtrack for Christmas, plus just got a 4cd set from the library.
Luckily, I can't think of the song that I had in my head the middle of the night last week that wouldn't go away.

LOL Steph :teeth: - it's quite addictive!!

:scratchin hmmmmmm....... interesting that you should be hearing that 'song' in your head Shaun. Tell me, how log has this been happening :smooth: ?

Uhoh, Mama Mia alert! I'll have to turn some music on!

Shirley, I have ABBA on now on the computer? Can you hear it? "Does Your Mama Know?" Last night went to bed with "S.O.S."
Sing along, "does your mama know that you are out?"

D'oh, should be "Does Your Mother Know?" Boy, if that doesn't get the whole group singing, nothing will.
