This will be our 2nd trip staying at WDW, and we stayed CBR last year and loved it. We loved it eventhough we didn't get to enjoy the pool. We are going in September again, and have been looking at POP, but are totally into staying at CBR again. What do you think?

Unless $ is a major issue I would go with CBR. GREAT pool With multiple slides, central location, marina and bigger rooms.

I would choose CBR. I'd only choose Pop is I needed to save the money. We've done both and CBR wins hands down.

We have stayed at both.

Our problem with CBR is we did not pay for a preferred room so when I think about the resort all I remember is how far we walked! We were in Aruba and had to cross the bridge to get to foodcourt. We filled our mugs maybe 2 times the whole trip bc it was such a hassle. The bustop seemed like forever from our room while carrying a cranky tired 4 year old! The plus side was yes the room was larger and fridge was free.

Pop was a dream! We were in 60's preferred - 3rd floor just above the Goofy splash area. We could zip down the stairs and be at the foodcourt in under a minute! We were off the bus and in our room in under 2 mins.
The cons were we had to use a fridge swap in order to get a free fridge- ok not really a con but it require a bit of planning as we did a personal handoff at midnight! Also the room was smaller and required us to be more organized and tidy.

Dh and I have talked about trying CBR again and paying for preferred bc we realize now that for us location to bus stops and foodcourt is a priority.

I stayed at POP once when CBR pool was under construction(we usually stay at CBR or CSR). POP made me depressed, so different from CBR. It is fun and clean, do not get me wrong but it is not quiet or serene by any means. Rooms are smaller and it counts when you need to use rollaway bed and need to move furniture around every night, no slide although pool is very nice, busstop is not covered and you have to stand in line and wait unlike CBR covered seated stops, however only 1 stop with POP and 7 around resort with CBR. If you smoke, POP has horrible smoking areas, along people walks and uncovered. When I wake up at CBR I do not want to go to park but simply hang out around resort. When I woke up at POP, I had to get out to parks asap. If money is no matter, go with CBR and visit POP just for future consideration.

We've not stayed at either. We did one value many years ago and have never gone back--they just aren't for us. We don't choose the CBR because we have our own favorite moderate (and the CBR theme reminds us too much of where we go after our time at Disney -- the beach), but I would pick the CBR. You already know what to expect there and having all the quiet pools, the great main pool, etc., is reason enough.

I had the exact debate with myself. I decided to stick with CBR because I adore the resort and pool.

Unless the extra money is going to hurt your vacation budget badly, I'd stay at the CBR again. You already know you love the CBR. We booked Pop two years ago (we usually stay at the CBR) but later decided to go back to the CBR. I was too worried we wouldn't like Pop. To me, the extra money you pay is well worth it.....pool slides, marina, fridge in the room and the covered bus stops.

we stayed at POP last October, hubby and son loved it- me not so much. Our room was close to everything but it was so mad crazy, lots of people. Their foodcourt was awesome though. I am looking into staying at CBR but would book a preferred room to be close everything. Good Luck.

I'd go with CBR as well and if you don't want to pay the preferred room prices you could request buildings 45 or 46 in Jamaica or 51 and 52 in Aruba. They may be over the bridge but they're not as far out as some of the other buildings on property. I personally always request one of these villages because I enjoy the walk to the pool. It's peaceful and doesn't take as long as you would expect. I don't think I'd ever pay for a preferred room because I'd rather spend my $$ on something else at WDW and enjoy the walk over.

I cannot comment on the bus stops because we also get a rental car.

I've never stayed at POP, but if you know you like CBR, and $$ isn't an issue...go with it. There are so many amenities at CBR that are worth it (pool is incredible, the marina, FRIDGE!!, etc,)

We'll be there in a Pirate room this April!

We were at pop and switched to CBR. We do like pop but the rooms are a tad on the small size. I know some people would disagree but to me they seem so much more roomier. Plus much more peaceful. We have tired value twice and if that is all we could afford we would stay there. But I'm a moderate girl.

I was debating the same thing and went with CBR. In the end I figured out the differance for 7 nights at just less than $300 (assuming I rented a fridge, and I would have HAD to bring a coffee pot, :rotfl:, and upgrading free dining to DDP) My son saw the pirate rooms and would really like one, but thats money that I can't justify in the budget. Maybe we will get a free upgrade (does that ever happen, lol) Or maybe when time comes I will have save the extra money.

At any rate, for us I figure disney is something we will only do every 3-4 years. If we were going more often, or that $300 would break the budget, I would do POP for sure. When are you going?

well I haven't stayed at either, but I'll be staying on POP for a weekend getaway in October. I know rooms will be smaller, but I've stayed at All Star Sports so if rooms at POP are like those I'll live. If I was going for a longer stay I wouldn't stay at POP and would stay at CBR

We are going September 10th-18th. Very excited about returning! Thank you all so much for giving your opinions. It's really only a difference of $300 for us as well, and I was just having a hard time deciding.

I agree with most of the pp and say CBR, as long as you can swing it financially.:thumbsup2

It's a shame that you couldn't use the pool on your last trip because that is the best feature of CBR IMHO! The pool has something for everyone; it has 2 slides, zero entry, and an awesome gated toddler area.

Good luck deciding and enjoy your trip.:goodvibes

No question about it CBR it is relaxing, scenic, nice pool with slide and hot tub, nicer rooms, and full service restauraunt. If money is not a main consideration that is.
