We won't have the Duck there to take care of us.

I have only got through the first post and I am in! I LOVE the child-free TRs or at least the ones with older children (12+). They are not easy to find here but I find I can relate to them more.
I was in marching band in high school. I played the clarinet. Yay, B.G. pride!
And another clarinet player. Never knew they were so popular.
(Don't get me wrong, I love my son, but adults need to have fun also.
)Bus Bingo - go to bus stop and hop on the first one to arrive. Explore wherever it drops us off and do the same. Think Jacob and I will try this Thanksgiving.
I played clarinet also! Yes, I was completely surprised how well he looked.
Thank you. Hopefully we don't end up being run off the Boardwalk like some people. We won't have the Duck there to take care of us.
Vickie, before I forget. Learned a couple of new terms that might be useful in our planning:
Monorail Crawl - stop in a bar at each resort on the Monorail and have a drink. Guess we could start at Epcot.

One snag -- Magic Kingdom...although, I know they are serving drinks on the way out of Space Mountain, if you can just get in there with the robot!!

Yay, I remember you from another TR from a girl in Hawaii -- she had a great TR, then broke up with her DBF...

I begin looking at the website. I'm telling you, a lot of thought goes into that site. There are probably psychologists with extra degrees in marketing who are hired to PULL YOU IN...suck you down into the website, to try different resorts -- oh, look at this date! -- oh, that price isn't bad, I might be able to do THAT -- OHHHHHH!! Free DINING?? Sweet!! How can I work THAT in???
You know.
I started baiting my husband.
I do this also, just so you know, with cruise information, every now and then.
Yes, we are not in a cash-flow friendly environment right now...but we both tend to ignore this fact when we start looking at vacations. What the heck is the matter with us? We're both bad for each other, I'm tellin' ya.
He asked me if I realized there were other places to go on vacation and I replied "Yea, and we are planning those as well!"
But thanks to this economy I am having to do some serious saving!!

...mom can be kind of heavy, after a while.![]()

Muahhahahahahahah!!! (evil laugh, from not-so-evil woman)

Thank you. Hopefully we don't end up being run off the Boardwalk like some people. We won't have the Duck there to take care of us.

I know exactly what you mean!! My degree is in Marketing and I know the ploys but Disney goes over and beyond to suck me in!! I am usually able to slide by ads and those enticing displays in grocery stores but they but that Free Dining out there and now I am booking for May....Keith is rolling his eyes!!He asked me if I realized there were other places to go on vacation and I replied "Yea, and we are planning those as well!"

And, yea clarinet players!! I loved it so much I talked Madison into [playing the flute!!![]()
I love you already! Trading my Lucky Charm in!!!![]()

Can we still say this is our 40th birthday trip?

Hmmm, I can not remember that night when I mentioned a "girls" trip. I know I have mentioned more and more since meeting all of these great Dis'ers and experiencing Jelly Rolls. I remember thinking "I have to take Vickie to Jelly Rolls." The only way to do that is to leave the kids at home.
I do remember the first time I came up with the idea. I think it was about a year before Vickie turned 40. I thought it would be fun to do a girls trip for our 40th.Can we still say this is our 40th birthday trip?
(I know...we're beyond that, anyway...I should just be hoping people don't believe I'm 40!!
)Ok, this is getting really weird. I think you may be mine and Vickie's long lost triplet. We were Marketing majors also.![]()
I know how you feel, yes there are other places to vacation, but it's Disney!!! It's Walt's dream, we have to go!

Plus I always feel like I have missed something each time I go and I must return to be able to enjoy those things missed!!
Yes, I am SOOOO there with you...my family also rolls their eyes on going back to WDW, with the exception of my DGD. I keep socking $$ away, but I know it probably won't last past Christmas...
YAY for flute players!! Jordan is a 3rd generation flute player!![]()

I really love the flute!! But I still can't get a sound out of it! The only thing I really didn't like about the clarinet was when you messed up everyone knew from the awful squeeking!!![]()

I know not of what you speak.![]()
At Jacob's school they give them two weeks in each elective so they can determine which one they want, he is in band right now. He didn't like the clarinet. Seemed to like the trumpet though. Might have a band geek yet.![]()
I was like, "Girl, you need to try high school band at least one year, to see if you like it...away football games ROCK!!"
Awww...Duck, through Melissa's eyes, I can see how you are both each other's Lucky Charms!!
![]()
she just did not have any choice... as stated she had been kidnapped a couple of times......do we HAVE to say we're 40?? Can we choose a lower number, and see what we can get away with?(I know...we're beyond that, anyway...I should just be hoping people don't believe I'm 40!!
)

What do you think? I saw someone had put some non-avail time in Concierge studio for Feb, so if we want to do that, we better do it quick.

Jordan said, that is pretty cool!! (that he gets to try his electives)
Then she asked me, "Did you want me to take band every year??"I was like, "Girl, you need to try high school band at least one year, to see if you like it...away football games ROCK!!"

). Can't remember what all is left. Oh, they have a cooking class, you know how that will go over.
