Can we really...REALLY...be TEENAGERS again?? Answer on the START of our TR!!

How long do you think it was before we were talking?

I was going to answer this, but realized I should give time for our followers to chime in.:rotfl2:

Ok, I need to break away, I have posted 3 times in a row. That's a big :sad2: isn't it. (I mean that as in "No No", not "sad".)

I know not of what you speak.:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

At Jacob's school they give them two weeks in each elective so they can determine which one they want, he is in band right now. He didn't like the clarinet. Seemed to like the trumpet though. Might have a band geek yet.:goodvibes

Very cool that he gets to choose the electives like that! I always liked the trumpet because they got the cool solos!!

Then she asked me, "Did you want me to take band every year??" :scared1: I was like, "Girl, you need to try high school band at least one year, to see if you like it...away football games ROCK!!"
:woohoo:

Madison liked band in 6th grade, she wasn't too keen on it in the 7th, the 8th was better because they got to participate in some football games and other activities. I had told her I wanted her to stick with it until she finished 9th grade because high school was an entirely different situation. This was her 1st year in the high school band and has loved it so far! She said she was glad she stuck it out. I think the road trips, contests and stand playing won her over! Band trips still to come. They have been to Universal Studios, Dollywood and San Antonio already so I am hoping for something real good and I am chaperoning!! :cool1::lmao: Madison should love that!!

Chris is chomping at the bits to go on a cruise. I have promised him we will go and now it is "how much longer??" I should have left that one alone for a while! I love cruising but Keith didn't for some reason. Talking Keith into going on another cruise is like convincing him WDW isn't the evil empire....which he hasn't completely vocalized that I was right but he has made silent confirmation!! ;)

I vote for 5 to 10 minutes, but I think it all depends on how quickly Melissa checks those Facebook messages!!! :rotfl:

Hopefully you see this, enter submit forgetting to comment on Jordan and Band. I agree, if she likes band she should try High School for one year. Who knows, she may end up in the color guard like us. But, I noticed you said how fun the football games were and didn't mention the band trips. It's not giving me the smilies in the edit. But insert ;-), ROTFL, and several others I'm sure. LOL

:lmao: No, I don't really go into specifics when talking about the band trips...but I've told her that's part of the fun! :rolleyes1

I'm really hoping that Jordan feels the same way. There have been a lot of changes for her in switching from a small, private, Christian school, to a large public school. I think she's trying to "find her way" - figure out who she is. :)

What cruise did you go on? Our first was a Disney cruise -- expensive, but one of the best of the 9 we've been on. Carnival just doesn't hold a candle, but I like to go on Carnival cruises, too. The routine of it all is great!! We just settle in like we're at home!

I'll give this hint: she didn't see the message until after we talked... :rolleyes1

How did I not know you guys had started ptr???? Well I'm here now, so I need to go catch up.

I think I missed it totally... when in February is this happening ????:goodvibes

We went on Royal Caribbean. It was nice but kind of upscale and I think that was what turned him off. To take Chris I am looking at either Disney or Carnival. Chris wants to go to the Mayan Ruins and I want to go to Belize so a 7 day Carnival is probably more in our budget than the Disney 7 day cruises. Also, I am not real keen on Castaway Bay for some reason :confused3 just from my research. It sounds boring! We like the sun and sand....for about 2 hours and then we are ready to do more. I would really like to go on the Disney cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. They have had some good military discounts in the past and if those come up again I would "feel better" about that expenditure!! ;)

So it looks like my little hiatus hasn't resulted in missing much! Glad about that! :goodvibes The last two weeks have equaled about 2 years!!! :rotfl:

Did you post on Facebook and then call her ASAP?? I must go back and read to see if the answer was given already!!

Glad you were able to find a little break time. We all know how life gets in the way of Dis'ing.

Emailed Vickie and don't know what she is up to, but she is busy enough it sounded like she was going to bed last night at about 7pm, can't believe she didn't tell me what was going on.;)

But she will be back soon. Can you believe we will be there in two months and we have nothing planned except dates, a resort, and what dining plan to be on?:scared1:

It might have been an hour after I sent that email when I called Melissa...I had started looking at the DVC website on points, etc, and needed to find out what weekend Melissa was available, and if she had any thoughts about where to stay.

She was pretty open about anything during the month.

Her response after the talk:

"Hey, it was good talking to you today. Really looking forward to February. This should be a blast."

Here was my response to her afterward, which explains a few things:

Okay, apparently I forgot that the weekend of 11 Feb was also the weekend of Valentine's Day -- that weekend, along with the previous for concierge AKV studio availability, is practically nil. BCV and BWV have avail for studio, as does Wilderness Lodge (never been); BLT only has studio for 11 Feb (not 4 Feb), and only for Lake View. Lakeview. LOL

Okay -- question is: do you want to attempt to do either of the Feb weekends following? Do you have anything planned on the 3rd or 4th weekend, or do you suggest it? For some reason, after 15 Feb, Disney decides that those weeks are the same number of points as they charge for Spring Break timeframe. :( Weird. It's not a lot more, but I'm guessing it's more busy. Is 4 Feb weekend better?

We can do something else, during 4 Feb weekend, or take our chances with the 3rd or 4th weekend, and I can find out more avail.

In the end, we figured out that the holiday weekend was the better choice. Still, no concierge, so that was out -- in fact, for that weekend, only SSR with a studio was available. I went ahead and put the non-avail info on the DVC thread for others to see.

So, we got a room in SSR, and I went ahead and put us on the waitlist for BLT -- the monorail and MK access would be awesome. :goodvibes

I tell ya, we moved on this fast. One day it was just a thought and then it was all booked and we were going!:cool1:

I think SSR will be great, especially when we go to Jelly Rolls. Just catch a bus to DTD and walk back to the resort. No taxi. Unless of course we decide to close the place.:rotfl2:

I'm here!

A BFF trip sounds like so much fun. You sound like me. I'm always working and reworking numbers to see if I can figure a trip in.

:welcome: Looks like you will be at WDW really soon.

Ok, sorry I haven't been around, need to track down Vickie and get her back out here. We are now less than two months from our girls weekend.!:woohoo:

is it time ?????

Vickie...Vickie...VICKIE!!!!

Ok, chatted with her the other night on FB and she has been really, really busy at work and this next month doesn't look any better for her, but she is around and will hopefully update this PTR soon.

I will say her husband is a little worried about letting her go since we were discussing alcohol consumption so much.:lmao:

Hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year!!!

Glad to know she is just busy! I can certainly undestand that as I return to work tomorrow. :sad1::sad1::sad1: I have been off 2 weeks and returning will be into the rat race since I work at a college!

My DH would be the same way about the alcohol consumption...:rolleyes1:lmao:
