For anyone who doesn't know. If you are at WDW and want to be "known" as a member of the DIS boards... you wear LIME Green.

I didn't wear it last year. This year I might. What do you all wear for lime green and tell me how well you get noticed.

I always have my name badge on, with lime green ribbon attached to it! I've been stopped a couple of times by other DISers! :cool1:

I have my DIS pin as well as lime ribbon on my backpack. With the rise of lime green in popularity in clothing lines last season I don't know I'd ask each person just wearing lime clothing.
Lots of people also get the lime green Mickey Mouse heads from Home Depot and laminate them and attach to their backpacks, bags, strollers, ect...

I have a green Home Depot Mickey head on my backpack, but in all honesty, if I was asked, I would deny that I am a poster here. I like anonimity. :teeth:

On our June trip I had my lime green Mickey head from Home Depot attached to my backpack...this Christmas I'll be adding my new pair of CROCS in lime green.

so the mickey heads are the most popular I see! hmmm

Just wearing a lime green shirt is not significant at all. ANYBODY could be wearing a lime green shirt. I wear lime green ribbons dangling from my name tag, and lime green Mickey heads dangling all over my fanny pack. I *WANT* another DIS'er to notice that I am a member of The DIS. I am a very proud member of The DIS - no need to hide that !! I also travel solo, my DH stays home.
I want to strike up conversations with other DIS members. The only place that I don't identfy myself is out at the pool.

I have a Home Depot green Mickey Head with my screen name on it, which I laminated and attached to a lime green ribbon. I put this on my purse or my backpack. I've been greeted several times by other DIS'ers. My son (an adult), of course, was a little bit mystified when I left him holding my backpack while I visited "bathroom land". Someone looked at him and, in a shocked voice, said "YOU'RE BethC1952?". Of course, poor DS had no idea what was going on. DH, on the other hand, has suggested that he may agree to a "Mr. BethC1952" tag this year, because he's discovered that my "imaginary friends" from the DIS can be lots of fun!

BTW, we've been recognized more often from the picture in my sig than from any lime green!

I have laminated the Alien Green Mickey heads from Home Depot and my sister and I have them hanging on the bottom of our backpacks. As of yet no one has stopped us due to them, but some did overhear us talking at MNSSHP and said hello. I give them to relatives and friends after I see them post for the first time as a welcome gift.

:bounce:
How about a green Mickey smilie?

Disney makes paint and people take the paint collor swatches. They happen to be in the shape of Mickey Heads.

Last week, I returned from a trip where I decided to try wearing lime green. So wore my DIS lime green t-shirt and DIS button on two days of my trip, and did get recognized! I was at Animal Kingdom (last Wednesday) by the entrance, and was videorecording the characters that were out. Baloo (the great big grayish bear!) came on over to me, and got all excited and pointed at my DIS button and gave a thumbs up sign. I asked him if he was a DISer, and he put his paw over my camcorder (so the world won't know! :teeth: ) and nodded! So if you are out there Baloo - that was me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :teeth: :teeth: Just had to mention this, it made my day! :sunny:

I also met two other DISers in the parks - I met a married couple at Epcot who were a "perfect match" who somehow spotted my DIS button. And at MGM by the Big Hat, I met a very nice young DIS married couple with their DIS baby who were decked out in lime green with DIS fanny packs and everything!!

So wearing lime green or a DIS button does help meet other DISers! Next trip, I will try to wear lime green more often! :)

Here's a tip:

Don't wear lime green and have your husband wear a DIS lime green shirt if....

you are so insanely afraid of real-life human interaction that if someone pushing a stroller right next to yours in Fantasyland on Halloween morning says, "Hi! You're on the DIS?" it causes you to mutter "yeah," turn your back, and scurry away. (Only to end up right in front of my family and I in line for Dumbo due to the park being completely empty at opening.)

On a positive note, I can't remember the last time my husband was so hysterical with laughter at me for trying to be friendly with someone from a message board that he already makes fun of me for ;)

I am naughty. A friend is going to WDW in couple weeks with his wife. They're the kind of people who don't plan for anything and just go. They don't know Disboards. I gave them some of the lime green Mickey heads from Home Depot, laminated, and told them to hook it to their fanny packs and purse. Told them it will get them into the spirit of things.

Yes, I am naughty :)

We had lime green Mickey heads from Home Depot on our backpacks, cameras and fanny pack-- and nobody approached us! :( I wanted to be approached and identified as a DISer because my DH claims that there are so many of us that we'd never bump into one another..

Hi there!

I got an alien green paint chip and put my forum name on it. I also decorated it with a few WDW stickers including a Canadian flag in the shape of Mickey Ears. I plan to tie it to my water bottle holding strap from MK that my DF usually holds on to! But, if you grab his attention, he'll know exactly what you are talking about... he makes fun but I have explained everything! :goodvibes

Me too ~ I was ready and looking for other Disers...Nobody, not one person came up to me. I was very disapointed. Oh well this January we are going again and I will try, try again.

I'm not sure if I'm going to advertise I'm a DIS'er or not...with my luck, my teenagers will be fighting like crazy when somebody spots me! :earseek:
