Availability at 7 months for longer stays

They do look a bit on the small side TBH, so I think I would be looking at the deluxe studios ideally.

RIV is my favorite resort and I go solo occasionally and I won’t stay in a tower. The deluxe studio is so much nicer and not that many more points!

I am still a big fan of don’t buy a resort if you are. It happy being at if you can’t trade.

If you love RIV and only want to go every few years, than that is what I would buy.

Remember, this doesn’t have to be your only contract. Down the road, you may decide to buy more that have the ability to trade elsewhere.

And, as an owner, you’d be able to even add on as little as 50 points direct at RIV..or elsewhere…to have some for trades!

Hmm, so my plan is to visit every couple of years, staying 8-10 nights in a studio. If there isn't much availability at 7 months out then that kind of goes against the argument to buy SSR for flexibility. Which takes me back to my other choice, and where my heart lies, which is a resale at Riviera. Yes, I would be tied to one resort but I feel like I would be ok with that, plus I would always be booking dead on 11 months out so hopefully I would have no issue getting a tower or deluxe studio.

You don't buy SSR because SSR itself is flexible. You buy it for the cheap price if YOU are flexible with your bookings. Most of the time it is the resort of last resort, meaning owners there usually have the least flexibility of all the original resorts (so outside of the restricted resorts) because a lot of studios at other resorts require home resort advantage to book regularly for any longer stays.

10 nights in a studio is a long time... I've had to do hotel stays not at WDW for 10-15 nights... it can be tough for me given the small size....

This list would have me personally considering Polynesian, Riviera, and Old Key West if that was my room desire...

So, if I were in your shoes, I would probably be looking to buy Riviera resale and wait for a good deal on it...
