I have something coming up and I really need opinions other than my own and family. I posted this question in a different form on the wrong forum board, but they are answering so I want to put it here too. http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=517221
If you were leaving WDW with a "gift" and you didn't know you had "earned" it. what would you most want. Remeber youhave to take it home from your vacation and you may not have even left room for it.

would you go for:
something for the office environment
something to wear? shirt, cap
for memeroes ( picture frame? scrapbook)
for make believe ( costume or accessories)
something to use at the park (fanny pack, backpack)
something to use in the kitchen ( dish towel, pot holders)
something for the house ( candles, dish, wall hanging)
something to relax ( mickey shaped candles or soaps)
something just to say you remember, (silly hat, keychain, antenna ball or window cling)

I REALLY need answers and reasons why. will anyone help me with this?

Thanks y'all and the items won't be for me they will be for people just like yourselves.

I have had emails for lunch buckets, cuff links, money clips, light chasers that are character themed coffee table books about Disney the man and the company, disney themed board games like clue or monopoly. Please let you imagination run wild, just remember you HAVE to get it home the same way you arrived at WDW. so it has to fit in you car, luggage, etc.

I knew it wasn't for you, but I just felt you would have expertise in choosing a good one.

I'd go with something small like a magnet or a keychain, or something that I would use everyday, so something for an office environment would be perfect.

I'm always buying disney stationery, too :)

Coffee mugs. We use ours every single day, and it's a nice way to start your day, thinking Disney.

I like to bring back food items. I am trying to declutter my house and life so I don't want to bring anything home that I would have to find a place to store.

That is why I don't want to clutter anyone else's home. Chocolate covered Mickey Pretzels were a big hit at Christmas. I bought an entire case to give away to friends, teachers and family.

I would say something for the kitchen since it will come in handy and that person will remember who gave it to them.

I love to put magnets on my fridge so i would say magnets or something kitcheny.

please keep 'em comin' kids. You guys have given me pms of ideas I never would have thought of. Spoons, thimbles, I didn't know ANYONE needed much less wanted another coffee cup. You are hlping immensly.

Please continue adding.

Depending on who you're getting them for...

Inexpensive -- I'd go for a keychain, small stuffed animal, pins, or magnets.

More expensive -- Something collectible like a cool picture frame or a snowglobe.

I, too, think it'd be cool to have something that I could see or use every day.

I seem to miss WDW the most when I am in the office. I have two small Mickey globes I picked up at the Disney Store. They sit on top of my monitor on a shelf. When I am blue, I pick one of them up and give a good shake and remember my last trip there and it seems to perk me up. :)

Well, this happened to me. I planned the whole family vacation for 20 and they surprised me with a gift I love!

It's a silver Mickey Mouse watch by Skagen they got at the watch store at MGM, I think. It was a little beyone a t-shirt pricewise ($125 or so?) but every time I look at it I remember our trip and how much fun everyone had and how much the really appreciated all the time I put into it!

I liked it because it was personal and something I can and do wear every day.

you could fudge like we always do ;) we always pack up a duffle bag in our regular luggage that folds almost flat.

then we put all of our clothes in that on the way home and the clothes in the duffel bag.

I would vote for books or coffee mugs too.

I like polo type shirts (especially the ones that I get on sale at the Character Outlet) and antenna balls. Tee shirts are popular with my hubby.

I'm always worried about getting food items for folks...so many people are on special diets or trying to eat healthier.

We try to pick up something special for my parents (since they watch the grandferrets while we're on vacation. The last thing we brought back were cute coffee mugs with pix of all four FL theme parks. We've also brought my mom silver charms, which she seemed to really like.

Hope this helps!
Ginny
