Can anyone CONFIRM elimination of non-expiring tickets tomorrow?

I called Disney ticketing 4075664985 opt 5 and asked if I could upgrade to an AP- advised as long as ticket is unused I could- she did check first before telling me this.
Am unsure though if they would bridge the price or give me a $ credit like they used to do many years ago on the old park hopper tickets.

And I called back to double check.... this time she took my ticket number- again advised can upgrade within 14 days of first use, asked if I could use the ticket first and was told yes!

I know Disney are famous for giving duff info but hopefully I have been told correct info (twice)

We didn't expect that you couldn't upgrade at all...unused, it is generally only worth the purchase price, but if you got it from a reseller that is problematic since Disney doesn't know what _you_ paid for it, only the reseller). Used, the question is what would be the equivalent "gate price" at the time of upgrade if they do the bridging. THAT they probably can't tell you on the phone - they probably don't even know what bridging is...

Poster clarified.

We know THAT (bolded) is incorrect.

Did something change? As far as I know you could _always_ upgrade an unused ticket - but the value towards the upgrade was the purchase price, not the current price.

What I quoted said "advised as long as ticket is unused I could"
taken to mean that " only if the ticket is unused, it can be upgraded."

Do you read it another way?

Hmm...I read it as it doesn't _necessarily_ exclude the ability to upgrade if used, but more _guaranteed_ that it is upgradable if unused.

I asked because non MYW tickets can not be upgraded- even if unused. So I was unsure If I could upgrade the ticket at all considering its now no longer on sale. When I said "only if ticket is unused" should have said I was told the usual rule, that it can be upgraded if used as long as days remain and within 14 days from first use.

So Basically I've been told exactly the same as any other MYW ticket.

As for the price- have no idea how they will work that one out. They know what the broker paid for the ticket so maybe they just wont bridge it at all considering there is not a price to bridge to now.

In which case I can still get my AP so im happy- sorta!

But if they only give you credit for what the broker paid - you're losing money on the deal.

I am - but I'd rather do that than be stuck with a ticket that does not suit my needs- I cant even hop with it.

Not sure how big the dealer margin is- I cant see it being massive knowing Disney.

For us the NE hoppers will be missed. We are using the last 3 days this September of our 10 days purchased in 2005. Even got us 1 day at Disneyland in 2007. We still have all the pluses left on these? I know we can use the pluses for watermarks but can we still use them for Disneyquest?

We could use those for evenings for the 2 days we will be at Universal if that is possible.

Yes.

The Pluses don't expire either. They are good at DisneyQuest.

Sorry to bump up this thread, but I did say I would report back on the upgrade situation...

The CM I spoke to at Guest Services outside AK tried to add days on to my 6-day NE ticket and couldn't without the system removing the NE part. She was off last weekend when the price increase happened, so she didn't know NE tickets were discontinued until I told her, and then she went to speak to someone to confirm what my options were... She confirmed that my ticket was upgradable for any options that are in the system (upgrade to AP, etc.) within 14 days of my ticket's first use. I asked about bridging and she confirmed that the ticket would still be bridged to preserve the discount from purchasing the ticket from Undercover Tourist, but we would have to pay any difference due to price increases. Since I wasn't looking to upgrade to an AP, I ask for any further details on the discount vs. price increase situation, but she seemed to be an experienced and knowledgeable full-time CM.

So was she able to upgrade it?

I'm a little confused on that they will do price bridging, but that you'd have to pay for the price increase. So it sounds like they'd price bridge to the price it was at the time of purchase, and then you'd have to pay for the increase/upgrade? Is that correct?

The only thing I'd add is in general AK GR is the place NOT to go for ticket upgrades. Historically that seems to be the place with the most issues doing legitimate upgrades. No offense to any AK GR/Ticket CMs, but a lot of the horror stories over the years all had AK in common. Hopefully they've improved.

I think I read this whole thread but I don't think my situation is addressed - I bought 10 day NE park hoppers before the switch to RFID. (i have the tyvek "paper" tickets). Does anyone know how the exchange to RFID media can happen? I never thought about what would happen if they took away the NE option and didn't swap out that set when we visited last.

Also, is there any where to confirm how days are left on a ticket? We have some used NE ones we did swap to the new RFID media but i noticed they don't mention anywhere on the ticket that "NE" is available. I'm concerned my "investment" is crud now.

No problem. They will simply swap the old ticket media for new media but with the same entitlements. They have not eliminated No Expiration entitlements - they only eliminated selling new ones.

Thanks for this- the main thing is they are up gradable, I want to upgrade to an AP in November- I got a feeling its going to be a bit of a hassle, and still not sure what price they will bridge the ticket too, maybe the last known gate price?
