Can a trip w/ friends make up for an unmagical trip with the BF?-Final Updates 12/30!

***** I forgot to mention a little story that happen in Soarin' which made me realize this trip might be a little more difficult to deal with than I originally thought. We were in queue to go down to the Bays and be assigned a line. There was a family behind us and their boy was coughing, not a lot but every once in a while. b told the boy, it's polite to cover your mouth when you cough. To which the father replied, its an asthmatic cough, he isn't sick. And b replied still he should cover his mouth. I know lots of people might mention something or move or whatever, but the tone in which she said it was sort of disrespectful and I was worried that we would end up in one of those not so nice disagreements that happen in a queue. Luckily, no one said anything after that and we were placed in different lanes.*****

Sorry for catching up in slo-mo. I can't believe you're already so far along! It's taken me a month to get to day 3 on my TR :lmao:

Regarding the parenting (or lack of), I've got to side with b on this one. Maybe her tone wasn't right, but there are so many bad parents out there, it's tough to keep them all in line ;). It doesn't matter if the kid is sick or not, he's still got to cover his mouth when he coughs! You might remember from Joyce's last TR that I actually had to yell at a teenager for trying to break a signpost in Adventure Land and then the dad looks at me like I'm harassing his kid!

I'm not seeing a Hidden Mickey...

It was later on touring Pop that I realized I was reading the wrong part of the book.:confused3:lmao::confused3 , the book never made another appearance during the trip.

I think it was a combination of things that annoyed me with this. One was her tone, it was really rude. The kid wasn't really coughing, it was more of a clearing your throat type of cough and she had about 5 feet of space between her and the kid and he wasn't even facing her. I on the other hand had a girl who was part of that group moving up and down the handrail and kept going even after she would walk into me. I think if she had done it in a way that was more "excuse me, but I really don't want to get sick while at Disney, would you mind covering your mouth?" The kid wasn't trying to destroy any Disney property or anything like you saw.

Haha..."That's where we lost your sister's glasses..."

The most funny part of it for me is when he started talking gibberish. And we had lost my sister's glasses there 6 years ago, but somehow it turned into a year or two ago. :lmao:

When we left off I was finished with Characterpoolza and had just gotten a call from g. I called him back and they were headed towards the big hat. I asked for them to meet me at The Voyage of the Little Mermaid so we could head over to TSMM, but they didn't know where the Voyage of the Little Mermaid was, but they were by the Great Movie Ride and wanted to me to meet them there. Seriously, how badly does this ride need to be updated. This was my third time on it ever. I got the Gangster once again, the CM at the front said the Cowboys go to bed early, so you have to be there early in order to see them and off we went. The first time I went on the Great Movie Ride was in 2006 with g and I went again last year with BF. What's horrible is I could say parts of their speeches before they could. Of course, not wanting to ruin it for others, I muttered it to myself and waited for the ride to be over so I could get to the rides we came for.... TSMM and Star Tours! Finally after what felt like an eternity the ride was over and we headed towards Pixar Place and TSMM. I guess they had a rough sequence on ToT and g wasn't feel great so he said that b and I could go by ourselves. And here's one of the points I'm not super proud of myself, the wait time was listed at 80 minutes, so I told g he was going to have to go even with not feeling well cause we didn't want to leave him there for over an hour. So he sucked it up and went on the ride, which was really nice of him. We got a regular ride vehicle in the wheelchair section and was paired with a party of 5 in the same section. g and b sat together and I sat with someone from the party of 5. The ride was good and I ended up with the high score for the car. After that, we headed out.

Remember earlier how g didn't go on HM or the Magic Carpets? Turns out something with g's work got screwed up and he was going to have to drive the hour home to fix stuff and then could come back. So g dropped b and I off and we went up to the room while g went home. So it's around 7:30 - 8pm and b and I are in the room with no plans for the night. I suggested going to DTD, we could take a shuttle or call a cab thinking it should be about $20 round trip for a cab ride. b wasn't really into playing $5 for we could get down there right away. I would have paid the $10 since we missed the 8pm shuttle and would have to wait for the 9pm shuttle which meant we were not going to take the 9:15pm shuttle back and would have to wait for the midnight shuttle.

We reached the shuttle spot by 8:30pm and started to wait for the 9pm shuttle. At this time I realized I forgot my cell phone in the room on the charger. I didn't know I had time to walk back to the room and back to shuttle spot before the 9pm shuttle would show up. g left us around 7pm, it would take him an hour to get home, an hour to drive back, and he said he had 2 -3 hours worth of work to do, so we should all be back at the same time. The shuttle picked us up a few minutes before 9pm and we were the only ones on the bus. We were dropped off on the Westside by Cirque du Soliel and took the Water Shuttle over to the Marketplace.

We spilt a sundae at Ghiradelli

Then we headed to check out Basin and then we made our way to World of Disney. b offered to buy whatever I was getting in the store since she owed me money for the ticket. She picked up a dress and I got a few things too. -$100 for the ticket price with this little shopping trip I did. When we left it was 11:02pm which we all know means everything is closed and we have 58 minutes until the shuttle will pick us up. We headed over towards the Lego store and it started drizzling again.

Next: More DTD Fun!

We continued walking through the Marketplace and into the Pleasure Island part of DTD. While walking around Pleasure Island we had a group of girls walk past us in some questionable clothing, one piece of clothing that we found amusing was a pair of booty shorts that were entire in black sequins. Really not the best look. We finally arrived to the Westside around 11:30pm and found the only store that was still open! The Cirque du Soliel store, b is a fan of the show and I'm pretty freaked out by them.

We got to the bus area and sat and waited for us bus to show up. Around 11:45pm, a Wyndham Bonnet Creek bus showed up and we boarded it. The driver told other people waiting that he was delivering them to the Wyndham Grand, which is the new hotel and only one tower away from where we are staying which would be much closer than the bus we were waiting for and it was here earlier! So we took it. We got dropped off at the hotel and proceed to find a door out and then try to work our way around the lake in order to get back to our building. We finally ended up in the pool area of Tower 5, but we couldn't get the gate from the pool area to the door to open, so we jumped the fence and headed into the building. We made our way upstairs wondering if g would be back or not, opened the door and there he was! I guess he got back a little after 9pm and didn't have to spend 2 or 3 hours at home and had been trying to call me and well I didn't have my phone. At this point b and g exchanged phone numbers. This was my late night for staying up and I went to bed around 1am.

***** Back story: I believe at the end of Day 2(it could have been Day 3, I can't remember anymore), we were sitting at the dining room table and g and b were eating leftover lasagna I made, and b started talking about her leg was itching and pulled up her pant leg and a cockroach climbed out. Nasty! Beginning of next day, someone showed up to ask if it was okay for the pest control to come and spray either the kitchen or the entire place for bugs. Needless to say the whole place got sprayed. b took a cover from the bed and shoved it under the door and didn't sleep well that night.*****

Up Next: Where to next?

Day 4 found me awake at 8am again. We were all up by 10am, but b needed more sleep because she once again didn't fall asleep until 4am because she had dreams that bugs were out to get her. This was fine with me because she had also made an appointment with the sales person that handles parking for 10:45am on this day. By 10:30am g and I were parking here:

Yep, we were back at HS! I took my Dramamine today and was fully going to get my Star Tours on! We entered HS and g was hungry, we talked about food options and I mentioned the oh so famous Carrot Cake Cookie at the Writer's Stop and he was game to try that for breakfast. One little problem..... I'm not really sure where it is, but I have a feeling its somewhere between Star Tours and the Streets of America. I did happen to find it next to Sci-Fi without too much trouble, we didn't loop around at all and g got his cookie. He said it was really yummy and we headed towards TSMM. I really wanted to ride with g and see who would win.

On the way to TSMM:

I'm pretty sure I won and did a little better than yesterday. We then headed on our way to try out Star Tours, but first I needed to visit Kitty.

DSCN3107.jpg

Then I saw these guys, but they line was already 35 - 45 minutes long so I opted to take a fly by photo

DSCN3109.jpg

We then went to see Muppet Vision, which was packed! We ended up being in the last row all the way over to the right. When we exited we went to Star Tours, as we were making our way up the ramp, I came to a dead stop because Darth Vader and a few Stormtroopers were meeting with a family and I really wanted to take a photo of Lord Vader, but they kept us moving. While waiting for our turn, we made lunch reservations on my phone, because we all know that there are no good CS places in HS. I asked the family that was behind us if they had lunch reservations or would need reservations for them. So we booked them lunch as well. We were in the front row all the way to right. Wow! This ride is amazing! We started off with Vader stopping us looking for the Rebel Spy, then we went to the Wookie planet, then off to the partial Death Star with Boba Fett chasing us. It was so good! We had a bit of time before our lunch reservation at Sci-Fi, so g was nice enough to let me do some shopping (no I didn't buy anything I was trading vinyls) while waiting for it to be time. By around 1pm g got a call from b that she was awake, so I got to cancel the lunch reservation and we headed out to pick her up and go to lunch.

Next up: Lunch and the rest of the day.....Plus more Bonus Features coming soon!

First... ew on the roach.

Second... I would LOVE to see "Kitty" One of my favorite movies. I wish that like DL, WDW had a ride that was Monsters Inc. themed. The one in DL is so endearing.

Third.... how almost eerie to see the christmas decorations up..but not up...

Finally, I can't wait to hear how lunch went! :goodvibes

Ewwww I definitely would have been grossed about about the roach! Yuck!! Hopefully that bug spray worked - sounds like it was very much needed!! :crazy2:

Although it sounds like it was a bit crazy getting to DTD, a sundae is always fun! And I'm glad you found the Writers Stop without trouble - it is a bit tucked away, but it's one of my favorite snack stops! :goodvibes

Well with getting the AP I bought TIW for my trips. Since the dining plan says it can save you up to 20%, but with TIW you are saving 20% and they figure out the tip and everything. Plus it includes drinks! Even though, I really don't drink, I'm a lightweight.

I'm actually thinking about getting a TIW card, but I don't really know how it works! Do they just add up everything, take off 20% of the whole bill, and then include the tip?

Ugh, that's so gross about the bug! :scared1: I hope that was the last you saw of them, hope the spray worked!

I really don't like seeing the Osborne Lights not lit up, it's depressing!

Isn't the new Star Tours awesome! I love it!

1. Yeah it was kinda nasty, but it ran under the fridge and I never thought of it again.

2. I went on the Monsters Inc. ride in DL and was disappointed there was nothing to it.

3. It jsut made me excited that December was almost here!

4. Lunch was yummy, but I ate too much. Dessert is my weakness!

We never saw another moving roach the rest of the time there. I can't wait to go back to Writer's Stop, when I'm hungry!

That's exactly how TIW works! The tip is 18% everywhere except V & A's where its 20%. Plus TIW works at some QS places in AK! No other park allows that! And QS means no tip! Just the discount! I never saw the bug after that. I can't wait to go on Star Tours like fifty more times!

Sorry for no updates since the motherload on the 5th! Sunday was the day I figured I could enter our PP card so that I could do the least amount of extensions to cover me through my January trip. I had 241 photos with 75 photos being the bonus stock photos. Then I had to save them in assorted sizes and now I get to work on adding borders and stuff. Give me a couple days because this is all new and exciting and shiny, but I'll be back in a couple days with more updates!

Joyce and I love the Writer's Stop. :thumbsup2 Aside from the carrot cake cookie, it's one of the few places to get an iced coffee in WDW!

When we were at HS in the spring, we left about 10 days before Star Tours opened...:headache:...Joyce asked me if I wanted her to skip it when she goes in May for when we both go in October, but I don't think I can be that mean. Besides, she'd just go on it and tell me she didn't anyway :rotfl:

You make me giggle... "exciting and shiny" I know you were having fun today with it. Were you at work when you were texting me? You make me jealous. I was at work too...so I can text just fine. However, I was out "in the field" today so no where near a computer. Just near strange people... and freezing. I swear I hate stores at this point in the year. It is like it takes who ever maintains the buildings FOREVER to realize that we now have freezing temps...so maybe turning on the heat would be a good thing.

But the chances of the Star Tours ride she has in May and the one you guys ride in October will most likely not be the same.;)

Ugh, monday was all nice and slow and I haven't had any chance since then to work on the photos. I've been busy at work and the internet at home keeps going in and out. :sad1:

Ahhhh I'm caught up now! Love the pictures! I had trouble viewing the BTMRR video though... any tips??

When I last left off, which was quite awhile ago, g and I had been window shopping ( and I may have made a Vinyl trade or not) when b called and said she finally woke up. I had made g and I reservations for Sci-Fi for 1:35pm while waiting to try our Star Tours. By the time we made plans of picking her up and getting lunch and I started to cancel the reservation it probably was about 1:15 or 1:20pm.

So we headed out of HS and headed back to the room. g stayed in the car and I ran upstairs to get b out and pick up some coupons for where we were going for lunch. We headed out and I plugged in the address in my phone and we made our way to Sweet Tomatoes. It was really good and I ate way too much mac and cheese and dessert. :rotfl:

After lunch we headed back to Disney, but not before stopping at a grocery store because b needed to pick up vitamins or something like that. We were headed towards MK for the evening since Wishes and MSEP was going to be showing. Epcot had a late night and I figured most people had already seen Wishes and MSEP on the night that MK had evening EMH. By 3:30pm we were parked here.

DSCN3110.jpg

We took the Ferry to MK from the TTA. We rented a wheelchair and headed towards Tomorrowland since it was the only area we didn't hit. We started off with the Peoplemover, because b didn't want to do anything that might upset her stomach first. We then went on Buzz Lightyear. We parked the wheelchair and was going to enter the spaceships or whatever you want to call them with 2 and 1 like usual, but b thought it would be a great idea to squeeze all 3 of us in one. And guess who got to be in the middle? Me! Seriously? I love Buzz Lightyear and I wanted to play, not just spin us from side to side. g was on the left and b was on the right. g was having a difficult time firings so at one point I took over and aimed for some of the secret high scoring points and made sure to decimate b's score. Plus I figured out where they take the photo. So here's what 3 adults in one ride vehicle at Buzz Lightyear looks like:

DSCN3112.jpg

Don't I look like I was enjoying myself way more than I actually was?!?
My dad loves to take photos so I've learned to turn on and off a fake smile on a dime. I usually don't smile and when I smile because I'm actually happy or want to smile I look foolish.

DSCN3113.jpg

From there, b decided that she wanted to try Carousel of Progress. After seeing this last year, its a skip for me unless I want a nap or its really hot and I need a break. That song just gets stuck in my head and about 5 hours later I'm still singing it. From there We used our tickets to pick up 2 FPs for Space Mountain for b to use later. g wasn't feeling it and I was a little scared of it still after doing the one in DL.

At this time it was about 6 or 6:30pm and we head towards Main Street to find a place to wait out for the parade. We found a great spot. We parked the wheelchair between the curb and a tree and b and I set up between the wheelchair and some mechanical box. With that I let b hold both our spots while I ran to Le Chapeau, where I found the black bouncy Mickey ears for g and I found some awesome pink fuzzy light up ones for myself. Then I ran to the Emporium and picked up two Star Wars Vinyls and joined back up with g and b. g had a rough day today and wasn't feeling great and I was hoping the ears would make him feel better. g was excited to see the ears and he and I opened the Star Wars Vinyls and found..... I had picked the same two vinyls! This was the second or third time this had happened already this trip. At some point b disappeared for almost an hour going on Space Mountain, she only went on once and then gave the other FP to a father and son. Not really sure if one of them were going on or what. :confused3

We had a couple families with strollers park next to g in his wheelchair and other family with two kids on my right. I had brought my glow bracelets and started to bond a little with their kids. When b came back we sat on the curb and talked about letting the kids of the families behind us sit on the curb so the kids could see and we'd have enough room to either sit behind them or stand behind them.

Up Next: MSEP and Bonus Feature #2

You don't have dial up do you? That could be a problem. I know it took me a few seconds. I should upload them to youtube and post them that way.

I am sorry you had to cancel your reservation for Sci Fi.

I love the picture of you on Buzz. You do look a bit happier than you should...well...:rotfl: WAY happier than you should. Seriously? The three of you in one? I would think the cms would not have allowed it.

I'm sorry I missed a couple of updates. I love the picture of you on Buzz--you look like you are having a blast.

Great photos at DTD too...I never saw those pumpkins there.

It's okay because I have a reservation for January, I just really wanted to try the new menu and see if I should keep it. yeah I figured I might as well take a nice picture being squeezed in the middle and not allowed to go on my second favorite ride in MK! It was really tight. Not someone's best idea. Oh but there is more fun coming from an individual soon!

I'm sorry I missed a couple of updates. I love the picture of you on Buzz--you look like you are having a blast.

Key word is looking like I'm having a blast. I was so annoyed and squished that I was happy the ride was almost over!
