It was the Binder's first trip to the Pacific Ocean:

Funny, even before you mentioned praying I saw this pic and thought of Footprints. (I forget the author's name.) I'm sure you know it...

It was such a beautiful day and the air was so fresh.

I do know Footprints.

I gotta take advantage of being so close to the beach.

Cool beach pics ...it looked very peaceful and I'm happy you let your binder stretch its legs :D Montana's pic was cool too and our girls are jonzing for snow here. You lived in Portland? Did you move south to escape all the rain?

I'm a Southern California native. I moved to the Portland area for 2 years to open restaurants for the company I was working for at the time. I absolutely fell in love with Oregon and would love to move back. However, my family is all in CA and we're very close. So a return to OR doesn't seem likely.

I love rain. So Portland and I were a good match. :thumbsup2

Today, instead of laying around the house all day, I decided to take a trip down to the beach. It's 10 miles from my house, about a 15-20 minute drive. I know this may be hard to believe, but it's been 2 years since I've been to any beach....

Just found your PTR. I'm signing up. Only looked at the last couple of pages. I'll go back and start at the beginning when I have more time.

2 years???? 2 years???? You live that close and haven't been to the beach in 2 years???? The beach is my most favorite place to be besides WDW. Glad you made it today. Wonderful when it is quiet like that. Had that experience a few years ago when we went to Tybee Island in Jan. We were going through a very difficult time and some friends of ours let us have their timeshare week. I would walk every morning on the beach with no one there. Just me and God. A lot of healing took place that week. I'll be checking in regularly. Keep writing.:thumbsup2

I grew up going to the beach every day during the summer. Now crowds prevent me going when it's top of mind. However, after going today and basically having the beach to myself. I plan on making the visits more regular.

party: :welcome:

I would LOVE to live that close to a beach!

Just listening to the water is the most relaxing thing I can think of.

I, too, am jealous of the binder.

Jordan- those beach pics are so pretty! What a wonderful place to unwind and think. I live pretty close to the beach too but only go about 2-3 times a year.

I think I just take the beach for granted having lived near the ocean for the majority of my life.

The sound of the water was ssssooooo relaxing.:thumbsup2

It was the perfect day. I just can't emphasize that enough.

I'm hoping to get down there a few more times before the end of the year.

I love that you and the binder got to go to the beach!:thumbsup2 I am absolutely in love with the ocean and I want to learn to surf sooooo bad but I have a secret.... I have never even SEEN the ocean. Not in real life. I live about 40 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico. However, where I live we get the nastyness that the Mississippi river brings. The water at our beach is darker than the most chocolaty of chocolate milks. :sad2:

**SIGH** I do have faith, though. One day I will make it to an ocean. I don't care which one. And I will run from the car and dive in with all my clothes on.;)

Oh PS- I have a binder too! Can't remember if I mentioned that in my first post. (several pages back) I need to take pictures of it and post them. I am organized too but I do not have the beautiful spreadsheets that you have created. Those are SPECTACULAR!

:sad2: I just don't know what to say.....................................you live that close to the ocean and you hadn't been for 2 YEARS???????????? I dream of one day living on the coast. Your poor binder has been deprived!:rotfl:

After Indy we head over to Pirates. No line. We walked on. After the ride, my roommate had to use the restroom. I took a few pics while I was waiting:

New Orleans Square has begun to put up Xmas Decorations. What happened to Thanksgiving?

DLminiTR023.jpg

We head to the Haunted Mansion w/ the Nightmare Before Xmas makeover. This was the longest line at around 15 minutes. I like the regular HM better as I am not a big Tim Burton fan.

We then head over to Splash. I had to use the restroom again

Our last attraction was Pooh which is located in Critter Country not Fantasyland.:confused3 When we exited the attraction, I noticed a Japanese Tour Group. I had to take a pic.

DLminiTR029.jpg

After only 4 hours, we decided to head over to ESPN Zone to watch MNF. On our way out I saw some more of my peeps.

We exited the park and got to ESPN..it was CLOSED!!!!!!!! They were having a private party..on a Monday...w/ MNF.....who schedules this?...............Oh well...we head home after that........

Oh, Jordy ... My tummy hurts and cheeks ache from laughing so hard. I am getting caugt up, and I loved reading about your trip to DL - the same day I was at MK!! I love love lvoe that you buckled up the binder for safety! And wow - you really hit the jack pot on Japanese tourist groups, now didn't you? Like a little peice of heaven for ya, wadn't it? That one pic of you in front of one of those groups has just a touch of Mike Myers in it - I was verklempt.

By the way, I now think I have officially seen more of your tongue than anyone else's on this planet. And that is pretty darned sad when you stop to think about it.:upsidedow

Jordan, if you miss Oregon, you can come and visit us anytime! It is a little less green here!

Hi MnMrMustard! :wave2: We are almost neighbors! I come to GP quite often - love it over there! We are thinking about looking for some retirement property there!

Next trip to WDW, tack on a day or two and head over to the Daytona. It's not that far. I like the Atlantic because the water is a bit warmer and more tropical like....

Pics of binders are always welcome.....:thumbsup2

I know. I'm a bad person. I'll make up for it. I almost drove down again after work, but I was hungry.

It was like I had died and gone to heaven. So many of my peeps.:thumbsup2 It's even better when they're clueless that you're taking pictures of them.

No comment on the tongue comment.:rolleyes1 ;)

Thanks for the offer. I may take you up on that.

I do think they record it. My sermons are usually pretty short 15-20 minutes max. Don't like long sermons myself, so I try not to bore congregation w/ unnecessary fluff. People seem to respond well to my sermons. Got a few emails from folks last night.

I never know how I do. I just leave it up to God and He takes care of the rest.:thumbsup2

I'm taking the binder for a little trip today.............

Nothing wrong with a short sermon, i used to hate long ones, but our pastors are so good that it never seems like you are sitting there for long, i dont think we have had one that has been less than 45 minutes in months...the weeks went for about 60 minutes.

Loved the beach pictures, I know everyone has already said it, but that sounds like a great plan to go down to the beach more often and study, and just enjoy the sourondings.

What city is that in the beach picture down the way, you can see the skyscrapers...LA?

Where else have you been neglecting in your city? How about some zoos, do they have free zoos there, we have some.

I may be down, but definitely not out.:thumbsup2

I had a request or two regarding my binder and so here goes:

The binder needs a case.

Self explanatory;) :

Couldn't pass this sign by:

I have to say, taking the binder/LGMH to completely random places, with a camera has been crazy.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
OMG that was hilarious. Joining so I will be able to read your trip report. You are very funny so I cannot wait to read your trip report...but I guess I have to wait since you have not gone on your trip yet. Can't wait to see where binder ends up next.

funny thing about my brother and church....
when we were little and church ran longer than 45 minutes...my brother would tell my mom that we were going into overtime....we knew that once it was 9:45am that we should be outta there....:rotfl2: :lmao:

Jordan you're a nut and would fit in nicely in my family. I'm thinking of giving one of my clan the heave-ho so there's a spot open if you're interested.

Think it over.

In the meantime, let the hilarity continue! :rotfl2:

Your pastors are probably great speakers.

I think it's just hotels on the strip near Huntington Beach.

I'm planning on going to the beach Monday or Tuesday.
