Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Bunchkin ~ sorry to here about Tony's Mom. she will be in our prayers. I hope she is painfree . Good news about Tony's getting a house..

I was at Meals on Wheels this morning. did some picking up and then off to school for Eric's last band concert...

We are going to have a beautiful day today :sunny:
It's going to be 86 degrees :sunny:
I think I need to wear capris today :thumbsup2

dgr - I"m glad you had a such a great time at the concert!!! :cool1:

DG - I'm sorry to hear about your work being slow. The day goes by so slow when you are trying to keep your busy. I hope things pick up at work soon :wizard:

esbrick - I"m a super planner too ::yes:: I even pack our clothes according to day, and have them labeled for each day - I'm nuts!!! Whenever we go on vacation, my friend calls me exactly 2 weeks prior to us leaving and asks, "Are you packing yet?" because he knows I start laying out clothes on the dining room table exactly 2 weeks prior to us leaving

geffric - How was Eric's last band concert yesterday?

Well, I gotta go get Stephanie up for school. She has a field trip today where she has to wear long pants and long sleeves because of the amount of Poison Ivy that's there  I'm so paranoid of Poison Ivy:scared:, and I told her NOT to touch anything that's green. We had so much of this stuff around our yard when we first moved into our house, and it took a lot of time, money, and education to get rid of most of it (and we did it w/o anyone getting touched by it). So, I'm really hoping that Stephanie comes home from this trip Poison Ivy free.

Have a good day!!!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: We are going on a field trip today for work! Ok, so it's not really a field trip but a party for our department. We are going on a backstage tour of Lincoln Park Zoo. They had to devide us up into 3 groups b/c we are a fairly large department. Anywho, I was put in the group going backstage of the Ape House! I'm quite excited. I always joke with my family that I'd fit right in with the monkeys at the zoo! So this morning before my dad and I each left for work, he says to me "make sure you stay with the group. The zoo might think you are one of their's!"

Slo ~ Hope Stephanie makes it home poisen ivy free:wizard:

Esbrick ~ Thanks again! If you care to take a look, I have a planning journal. The link is in my siggy. I don't have any pics of my dress, or anything i'm 'wearing' on the day of the wedding (i.e. tiara, garter, shoes, etc.) in there b/c Mike is a DIS lurker and I don't want to give anything away. If you want to see them, let me know and I'll PM you! :goodvibes

Everyone else ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day!

Morning everyone!

slo ~ my DH used to roll his eyes at me. . . until he met my mother and now he gets it. She is VERY disorganized especially when it comes to travel!:lovestruc Wonderful woman, don't get me wrong but we're talking about a woman who thinks it's ok to start packing a 1/2 hour before leavign for the airport:scared1: We packed last night for this weekend and I have a folder with all confirmations ie DVC/ ME and our itinerary. Can't wait! Again this is very tame for me.

I'm hoping for a lovely evening as we are having a Dock party at the brewery this eveing. I get to help host (follow my boss around) a party for 150 wholesalers while having a couple of beers:drinking1! Not bad work!:thumbsup2

Have a wonderful day!:dance3:

Hi! we have a friend, Driver Tom, who has a limo company. I am attaching his website http://www.drivertom.com/ He's a little hyper and somewhat nuts:crazy2:but he gets the job done and is a great marketer. His phone number is on the website but if it's any easier 847-622-0180. Let me know if you want his cell as i have that too! Tell him that the Krick's, Mike & Eilis (I-Leash) sent you!

Goose luck!

Hi gang! I can't believe I haven't posted in several days. I got caught up on reading what you have all ben up to. Today is my late, late work day for this 2 month period. Bummer since it is so lovely out. I hope you are all enjoying the day.

DS has a baseball game tongith. He is the starting pitcher. Fingers crossed for a victory.

2 more weeks of school! DS needs a bread as much as I and dh do.

Hi to everyone!
Lori

Hi all! :wave2:

Thanks for the concern for my MIL. :grouphug:
She wasn't able to join this current study group with the new doctor, but instead will have to wait 4 weeks for the next one to start.

I had so much running around today. I'm pooped!! :faint:

Some of you were talking about Once Upon A Child not that long ago......
I went there today with a huge Rubbermaid container filled to the top, as I have no time for doing a decent garage sale before we leave. I got a little over $90. I think I might have done better on my own, but with no extra time on my hands... I'll take the money! But I have noticed that at my last 2 garage sales we had, people seemed more interested in other things than clothes. :confused3 Today I had stuff from Gymboree, The Gap, Ralph Lauren, Old Navy, Arizona (JCPenney), Macy's brand and random other stores.
There is no rhyme or reason to what they choose and what they leave behind. For example, they left one piece of a RL outift, a gorgeous sweater. :confused3 Who knows???????????

slo The church that had the AG tea really had some nice gifts.
Too bad you can't make it to the one being held at your church.
Next time you load up your dining room table with vacation clothes take a picture of it for us!! :goodvibes

momto1 Good luck to your son tonight!!

esbrick You work at a brewery? To what extent? Taster??? ;)

disneygal Hope you had a great time at the zoo!! Did you guys have lunch out too?

Hi guys! Wow, another week that is flying by, I can't believe it is Thursday tomorrow!

Busy with end of year stuff. The gym teacher at the girls' school does a volleyball camp every year which started this week. DD12 Mon/Wed and DD7 Tue/Thu. DD7 also had her last Brownie meeting at the park today. DS brought home the permission slip for their boat cruise downtown.

Bunchkin - I cannot figure out OUAC either, from my last batch they didn't take a brand new Oskosh baby outfit with the tags still attached or a pair of linen capris from the Gap that were fresh out of the dry cleaners bag. :confused3 I look through their racks and honestly thing they've rejected from me are nicer.
*Sorry you MIL didn't make it into the study. I hope she's well enough for the next round.

slo - I had to laugh at your packing reference. DD7 just asked me the other day if I'm going to use her bed or DD12's bed for packing. :) I don't have a dining room so they'll bunk together for that week before our trip while I pack.

momto1 - best of luck to DS. I hear you on being ready for summer vacation and needing a break. I'm so done with homework! I'm tired of the nightly battles. It's so hard on the kids too when it's so nice out.

disneygal - oooh, what a fun field trip. I hope you tell us all about it.

mac - hope all is going well with you!

:wave2: to everyone else.

Well, I"m off to bed. Another busy day again tomorrow with volleyball and gymnastics. Need to grocery shop too, in-laws are coming for a bbq this weekend so need food!

Enjoy the great weather everyone! :flower3:

What beautiful weather we are having :sunny:
Last night I came home from work, and sat outside and read my book - I LOVED that!!!! I just may do that again tonight :)

DG - How was your field trip? It sounds like fun!!!!:cool1:

esbrick - I bet you are getting so excited about your trip!!!:yay:

twinmom - I don't know of any - I"m sorry:guilty:

momto1 - How did your sons game go? Did they win?

Bunchkin - I will take a picture, because it is quite funny!!!
It won't be in 2009 - no vacations for us this year :sad2:

ID - Sounds like you've got a lot going on lately - I hope it all goes smooth :wizard:

Mac - How are you? Please let us know how you are doing!!!

Well, Stephanie is up, and dressed, which means it's time for her to eat breakfast.
Have a great day everyone!!!

Morning!

Wow it's nice coming here and catching up in the morning!:)

Working kinda slow this am as I worked too hard last night entertaining.:drinking1 It was a marvelous night for a moon dance. . . even in a brewery dock:cool1:

Slo sounds heavenly reading in your back yard! Mike and I like sitting in the driveway after work during the summer and either reading or talking. . . unless he's working on the garden or lawn. I'm not allowed as I have a black thumb:laughing:

Yep I work for Goose Island in the main brewery. I'm the owner's assistant, also known as Mother Goose:). It's a ruff job but someone's gotta do it right?;)

Disneygal how was the zoo? Can't wait to hear about it!

Irish Dancer ~ Busy weekend for you! Hope the bbq goes well!

Bunchkin ~ That stinks for your MIL. I will keep he in my prayers for strength. Sometimes it's the waiting that stinks more then anything.:sad2:

Well I'm off tomorrow! Can't wait! So excited to be sitting in SSR at the pool on Saturday am! I received my Eclipse book from Amazon on Tuesday and started it this am on the bus (yeah couldn't drive home last night:rolleyes: Mike played chauffer). Can't wait to get more into it!

Have a great day!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: The zoo was a lot of fun! And it was nice to get out of the office at 1:45 :goodvibes I learned alot about Gorillas and Chimps. It was quite interesting. It was my first time at Lincoln Park Zoo and had a lot of fun. It was very nice!

Today is a big day for Stephanie - she gets to go with her dad and grandpa to The Indianapolis Motor Speedway :car: She has been to the track before, but never when there were Indy cars on it. I can hardly wait to hear what her reaction is the first time she hears a car on the track - it's an awesome sound - one that can never be described properly. I also hope she gets to see some of her favorite drivers - she would love to get a glimpse of them in real life.

esbrick - Your position at work sounds really great!!!! Have you been working for them a long time?

DG - I"m glad you enjoyed the zoo - it's my favorite local zoo.

Well, I have to go make sure Steph is ready to go
Have a great Friday everyone!!!

Job is fun and busy! Maybe we can all meet up at the pub one weekend during the summer? :)

I'm excited for my trip today! I am outta here at 1PM:dance3:

Hope you all have a great weekend and I'll be looking at my BB for updates:flower3:

Take care!

Mornin' all!! :sunny:

slo That's great Stephanie is going to the track. I'm sure she'll have a great time.....and so will the guys!! :goodvibes

esbrick Step away from the Crackberry!!!! You DO NOT need any updates from us on your trip!!!!

disneygal Glad to hear that you enjoyed the outing!

Well, I should go sort the laundry....darn those kids and their need to wear clothes!!!! ;)

Happy Evening..

been busy here the past few days.. MoW Thurday til 2 pm, a quick pick up and then the band arrived for dinner and a practice session.. is there a holding your ears to block out the noise smilie??

anyway, today I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned.. then took the band to a guitar store that was having a sale, back to each members house for them to drop off stuff and pick up stuff.. then onto one of the band memebrs for a sleepover..Eric got a call to umpire a game tomorrow and Geoff and Scott will be working at an Eagle project..

Tomorrow , I will be laundry/errands/grocery shopping and doing the pck up and drop off routine... The band plays tomorrow night so I will cart them around and back too..

But in the car today, Eric and Geoff ( not mine but the one we are taking to WDW) mentioned that they wanted to look at U of FL on the way down.. so I checked the website.. only have tours 10 am and 2 pm.. not sure how we can leave at 1pm from NW suburban CHi ( after finals from summer school) and get to Gainesville the next day by 1:30 pm...

anyway.. how are things at your end??

Stephanie had a great time yesterday - she now wants to be a race car driver :car: She said that Kevin explained a lot to her, so she always knew what was going on:). This was a great experience for her, because she has never had a day trip with her dad, because I am normally always with. This was a big step for me to let her go, because I was very nervous about her going into busy bathrooms alone, but she did okay, and I will not worry next time. :thumbsup2

esbrick - Have a great trip!!!!:cool1:

Bunchkin - Good luck with the continued packing :wizard: I wish I was able to help you. When is the kids last day of school, and when is the moving day again - I forget.

geffric - Sounds like you've been busy :faint: Where is the band playing?

Kim - :wave2:

Well, I must go get ready for work
Have a great day!!!
