Calling all Chicago DISers #3

DG great pics! Congrats again and best wishes. Can't wait to hear all about the wedding and vacation.

KIM, SK8LEIGH...we are going to Stars on Ice, too, but we have the "cheap seats", LOL...we are up in the balcony!
Donna! Will you be there Sat, 5/8? If so, we MUST schedule a before meet - casual dinner/late lunch, whatever! Must see you both! And, I'll have our dear friend of 16 years, and Kelly's now-coach, with me! :thumbsup2 And, Kelly too, of course! Both skaters! Would love to do this!, and SEE you both! :goodvibes

Let me know, please! :thumbsup2

Kim & Leigh.. YES, we are going to Stars on Ice on May 8th! We woud love to try to get together with you guys before the show...don't have a clue what's in the area, though?? Let me know what you think would work!

What did you guys think of Evan on dancing last night? I thought the judges were a tad too harsh.

Hello to all chicagoland...today is dancing results and idol singing...reality show night at our house (especially since I just saw LOST is a rerun & the SOX game is on a channel I can't get on the DVR!)

Have a good night, everyone! :)

hi..

been enjoying the nice weather.. even planted the tomatoe crop.. been busy with Meals on Wheels and SHIP etc..

Went to a DIS meet last sunday April 16ish but could stay since eric needed to be at work at 11..

hope everyone is having a nice spring..

Kim - let me know where and what time to meet on Sunday June 20 at MK..

Hi gang!

DG - beautiful pictures! Congratulations and best wishes!!

Slo - so good to hear from you again. Don't be a stranger!

Stitch - Good luck with the house sale! Have you had any nibbles.

Sorry I haven't posted in so long. Work has been crazy. DS was injured in baseball while I was out of town on business. My guilty mommy moment. DH took charge and got him taken care of and on the road to recovery. He injured his knee but during the xrays and mri they discovered he has a degenerative bone disease - OCD. So he is physical therapy 3x a week for 90 minutes strengthening the kneee and muscles. He hopes to be back in baseball in 4 weeks which is like a lifetime to him. His junior high volleyball career ended too soon though.

I will try to post more. Take care!
Lori

Hi guys! Very busy here too, who would have thought that working 16hrs a week would throw such a wrench into everything! :confused3 Been busy with the powder room makeover which is now virtually complete, just need to hang the towel bar and tp holder. DH has had his Nat'l Sales Conference this week, thankfully in Chicago but it may as well be out of town as he leaves at 6am and doesn't get back from the city until around 10p. Tomorrow is the last day thankfully, tough one too he's taking his group to the Cubs game. DD13 has been a godsend, she's babysat and made dinner the past two nights while I worked and DH was gone. :thumbsup2

momto1 - so sorry to hear about DS, hopefully the PT will help. At least they found it before there was a bigger problem.

geffric - yikes! I haven't even thought about getting the veggies in yet. Only just started weeding and clearing out the beds today!

Donna - I agree that they were a bit harsh on Evan. So far the eliminations have been going the way I've wanted them to go, hope it keeps up!

Stitchfans - any interest in the house? Hope it's going well.

slo - so glad to "see" you back here. How frustrating about the computer issues.

:wave2: to everyone else!

Got good news tonight. I was pretty sure I left my glasses at my reunion Saturday. :headache: I'd called and inquired but never heard back so today I emailed one of the coordinators. They have them - YAY! :yay: I was just about resigned to getting a new pair. Now I just have to see if my friend's son who's a senior there can pick them up for me so I don't have to make a trip into the city for them.

Well tomorrow is no work but I still have loads of yard work to do so I'll be back out pulling weeds and trying to make the yard more presentable. Hope everyone is enjoying this nice weather! Have a great night all! :flower3:

So I lurk in this thread once in a while and I see this:

This DIS DOES NOT cooperate with my computer anymore.
It always has some sort of delay, which makes it very hard to post.
I have a huge problem with UTUBE too - I can't watch most videos, because there are always these huge pauses - Kevin says the files are to big, and our computer is to old...

I know nothing about your PC or it’s condition, but…

if you have old PC, do this: first install CCLeaner from HERE: and run it. It’ll clean all the garbage from your PC. This will include all the passwords remembered by your PC, so make sure you know all those log in names and passwords you need.

Then install and run Malwarebytes from HERE: and run it.

Whatever AntyVirus software you’re using, I’d replace it with Avast! 5.0 (or under All Downloads you can find older version 4.8 if you have a really old PC,). It’s a very good AV, I’m using it myself. And it’s Free for home use, must register and they’ll e-mail you the Key.

At the end, I’d uninstall all those programs that we never want to get rid off, but it’s been at least 1 or 2 years since the last time we used it.

After that, defrag the hard drive.

PM me if you need more help, I don't visit this thread too often.

disneygal922, Congrats!

And :wave2: to everybody else.

OK Donna, despite the fact you're a Sox fan ;) - I still love ya & miss ya & want to see you 5/8!!! And Leigh too!! :thumbsup2 There's a new Culver's over in that area - obviously casual, fast food, and I've never eaten there myself, but I've done Culver's 'meets' before, if that works for you all. :confused3 Donna, is Mark coming?

Evan was over criticized Monday. He looked great, but apparently SHARP lines and Form weren't what THEY wanted. He's still in it, he did great, and the general, VOTING public know that! I hope you're voting!
Went to a DIS meet last sunday April 16ish but could stay since eric needed to be at work at 11..

Where was this Meet? Didn't anyone think to invite old-timers? :confused3

6/20 - we'll be at MK - can you be there, too? :confused3 Afternoon sometime? We have CM at 10:35 and LeCeliier at 5:30, but then, back to MK after that as well. Maybe late night? Park Hoppers!!! :thumbsup2

:grouphug: Lori! I know the guilt - it wasn't your fault tho. I also had a friend with OCD (OCD is so much easier than trying to spell that!) More :grouphug:

id, I only work 6 hours a week and it's such an inconvenience sometimes!

While I agree with you that everyone that should be gone - is gone - I think Kate should've left earlier. Much earlier. That was just painful to watch. :sad2:

Glad you got/or are getting your glasses back! :thumbsup2

Never heard of ANY of this! :scared: Beware, imho!

Hi everyone. Hope you are all enjoying this great weather. Been very busy packing up things we don't use every day and painting. Of course cleaning too. DH said he wanted to have a majority of the painting done before we put up our for sale sign so it will go up Sunday or Monday.

We spent several days outside since it was so nice out cleaning up the yard, doing some painting outside and such. DH even climbed up on the garage roof to replace a bunch of shingles which had me all nervous. I was a bundle of nerves until his feet was safely back on the ground. I have a terrible fear of heights and watching him up there had me feeling

Today we plan on painting DD's room. It really needs it. Tomorrow ours. Then all we will have left to paint is the spare bedroom. Also have to shampoo the living room carpet and the spare bedroom carpet. The other two bedrooms have hard wood floors which I will clean real good. Oh, also need to shine up the kitchen cabinets. So much to do. Better run along. Thanks for all the well wishes.

pc- sooo glad you had fun at Prom!!! What did we All tell you?! ;) Best wishes on AP tests and finals! :thumbsup2

As for DWTS, I think/hope Maks and Erin will be the 3rd couple in the finals, so I share your 'like'! MY personal opinion - Nicole, Evan, and Erin, in that order - sooooo, people need to vote on Monday night!!

DonnaW (PM coming) and I, and our respective 'people', are meeting at Culver's on 5/8 at 4:30, in Rosemont. I haven't been to this NEW location, but I understand it's just North of the Allstate Arena (near Touhy & Mannheim). Leigh, I hope you can make this earlier meet, too! :thumbsup2

Anyone & everyone, Please Join us!! That's why we're posting it! :cool1:

Hi guys! GGGRRRRRR! Do you ever have something happen that totally ticks you off but it's your own fault which just makes it worse?! That's me today. Our city stickers were due May 1st, I dutifuly bought them on 4/23 but didn't stick them in the window right away and then forgot about it. So Saturday morning (May 1) I go to work and come out to find a ticket on my car for not having a city sticker! :headache: Call the non-emergency police number and they tell me to take it to City Hall on Monday and they'll "take care of it". Well, just came from there and the "best they can do" is reduce the ticket fine to $12.50. Ugh, it's much easier to deal with things when you can blame someone else. ;)

Kim - wish I could make the meet but DD8 has a dance comp in Aurora and she's dancing at 4:30p. Hope everyone has a great time! Take some pictures to post.

mac - thanks for the listings. I too hope they come out with something new soon.

MJ - so glad to hear prom was fun! Best of luck on the tests coming up.

Stichfans - hope the house prep is continuing smoothly and best of luck selling quickly!

:wave2: to everyone else!!

Well, have to run and pick up the girls at school. Then take DS9 to his social skills group in Park Ridge, home for dinner and tonight is my turn for taking my mom dinner. Have a great night all!! :flower3:

Hi gang!

Drat! I can't make Culvers on Saturday. We are doing our Mother's Day celebration with the moms that evening. Have fun!

Anybody going to be in Disney July 2 - 9 for a little meet up?

Thanks for the well wishes for ds. He just got released from the doctor to "play ball". He did amazing well and in much less time than predicted.

PC - I am so glad you went to your prom and had a good time! Good luck with the end of the year school stuff!

Stitch - I bet your house looks great. Fingers crossed that it sells quickly for you!

ID - I know what you mean! At least $12.50 is better than it probably could have been.

Take care!
Lori

No prob id and Lori, I totally understand. This is kinda last minute-on the fly. ;) But when 2 DISers meet, it's a Meet! :rotfl: And we like to invite everyone and anyone!! :thumbsup2
