Morning everyone. Just wanted to give you all a head's up. DVC is doing another one of their invites to the Disney's Doorway to Dreams in Woodfield Mall May 21-23. I am planning to attend Sunday 23rd at 4pm. Would love to meet up with anyone going that day.

In other news, I know, I know I've been slacking around here lately. I started my recaps over in my Planning Journal (link in the siggy). Also, we were featured on our photographer blog! I was really excited when I saw that this morning! We are still busy moving into the condo. It will be a long process. We got a great deal on living room furniture and that was delivered on Saturday. I love it! Also, we bought a kitten. her name in Minnie. We got her from PAWS and her name was Minnie when we met her, and I was wearing a minnie mouse tshirt so we thought it was meant to be. I've grown up with dogs so this cat thing is all very nerve racking for me. I'm terrified her claws are going to ruin everything. anyone got tips? let's see what else? back to work which was busy at first but has dramatically slowed down today. Summer hours start next week so i'm excited about that! I think that's all really just been busy!! hope everyone is doing well!

Hope everyone has been doing well!
I need to stop by here more often.


FIL's physical health and overall mental health are deteriorating day by day.
And we are now considering putting him in a nursing facility. It would be in the Chicago area, so we can all move back.

On a much happier note though.....
We are planning to move back this summer!!

Lauren's theater group at school will soon be performing 'Beauty and the Beast'. She's had soooo many practices lately (before and after school and the weekends) that I cannot wait for it to actually be over.

I was a good daughter and sent my mom her mother's day gift already. Fed Ex should deliver it today. I sent her a huge order from Garrett's Popcorn. LOVE that stuff!!

And we are taking one last trip to DL at the end of the month. I was happy to find a coupon for Priceline in my Entertainment Book. We always use Priceline and I don't know how I missed that coupon! So I got an awesome deal, more awesome than normally, on a 3 1/2 star hotel. LOL!
I think we got our monies worth out of those annual passes while we've been here!
Sad part is that DH will probably have to stay home with his dad. I'd like to drop FIL off at DH's sister's house on the drive to DL, but FIL hates staying there.



Tigg I got an email about that DVC event!! I wish we could go. Let us all know how it went!

I'd like to suggest declawing your cat's front claws. If she will be an inside cat, she has no need for them. We did that with all our cats we had. I know some are against it, but we are not.

Hi all...I just thought I would pop into the thread.

I do read through it occassionally just have been insanely busy lately (although I'm sitting here today, not really all that busy -- pretty much just waiting on phone calls or e-mail replies from people! ).

If you are all up to see a youth performance of The Wizard of Oz, my oldest & youngest made it in the show over at Pheasant Run. I'm pretty excited as it's their first big show. They are both in supporting roles.

We have seen tons of shows there & they actually end up pretty good.

Then I am trying to get organzied to be the new Tiger leader this upcoming year. I think I had a moment of insanity to offer that but on the other hand I'm a bit excited. I figure since I'm on my 3rd boy through I should have a clue as to what I'm doing now...maybe or maybe not...considering the Tiger den usually ends up being 15 boys. Thankfully, parents are required for that level.

I'm also organizing a fundraiser for Shriners Hospitals for Children that is happening this summer.

We have a wedding to go to in CT this summer also, so things are going every which way lately but I thought I would pop in.

I got the invite for the DVC happening too. As much as I would love to own DVC, it's not even remotely in the future anytime soon so I don't want to go and torture myself.

Becky, I have no money to buy into DVC either.But going to these little events is the closest thing we have in the midwest to a Disney outing.Kids can trade pins there and see the characters. And we get a little Disney fix without spending any $$$$. Some day I may actually be able to buy into DVC, but for now, I'll go and Dream in the Doorway!

Hullo everyone! Just popping by again, especially since school is winding down I have a lot of extra time. My only AP test was a killer, so hard. But its over so I'm done with nearly everything. Just a few more things to wrap up. I got my graduation cap and gown the other day too. I wish I could meet up with you guys, but I was in Moline all day yesterday and got home at like 2am from a concert there. Plus my allergies are having a field day with me right now, not fun. Hope you guys have fun! I remember seeing Stars on Ice when I was a figure skater and loving it!

Sorry we didn't read this earlier Leigh! We were looking for you at Culver's, but I had a thought that maybe whoever you were coming with might not enjoy a DIS meet, mini as it was. We missed you tho! Donna and her DH Mark and me and mine were there. It was a nice time! Did you enjoy the show? We did!

Hi just popping in real quick.

Minnie the kitten is so cute!! Love her!

Ready to put the sign up but now wondering about something. We went to my dad's yesterday to give him our left over flooring since it is the same as he has in his living room and he needs more for a bedroom.

While there he said we have to get an appraisal from a bank otherwise we can not quote how much we want to sell the house to buyers. We are going to try to sell the house on our own and just hire a lawyer when all is said and done.

When I spoke to my cousin this morning she said they never got an appraisal when they sold their home in Florida to come out to southern Illinois. Now I am confused it an appraisal needed or not??? Have to look into that tomorrow. If any of you know for sure please speak up.

Oh yeah, almost forgot..... Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms!!!!

Hi guys! Just a very quick drive by. Yesterday was insanely busy with work, dance competition and then to a friends house. Didn't get home til almost 3am! Decided I'm WAY too old to stay out that late.

Glad to hear the mini meet was good, sorry I missed it.

disneygal - Minnie is TOO cute! DH and I are highly alergic to cats, much to our kids dismay.

MJ - nice pics! Congrats on being almost done with school!

Stitchfans - not much experience but I don't think you'd need an appraisal if you know how much you want to list it for. I think the buyer would have that done for their loan, etc.

Bunchkin - yay for getting to move back but I think you're going to go through withdrawl from DLR. You are so lucky to be close enough for weekend trips!

Becky - the DVC presentations are really fun and are very low pressure so if you're looking to get a bit of Disney without going to Florida is a fun few hours.

geffric - we'll miss you by a day at the DVC event, we're going Friday night!

No on the appraisal! That is what a buyer pays for after they've bid on the house. BUT, to make sure that your house DOES appraise for what you're asking, and so that the buyer CAN get a loan, what you want to get is a FREE market analysis from a local realtor. Mind you, they are going to jack up the price (blow smoke up your you-know-what), to cover their commission, but since you're selling on your own, just take their quote down a bit, and you should be ok. I'm very glad to hear you'll be getting an attorney also! Good Luck!

Thanks Kim. Again you came to my rescue. Have a little cleaning to do. Always cleaning to do when you have 3 cats and a teen ager.

How you doing ID- has your life slowed down a bit. Guess it is best to keep busy this way it usually keeps ya out of trouble.

Chell- you looked lovely. Very pretty dress.

Guess I should get to the cleaning and shag DH out of bed so he can clean out the weeds along the fence in between our house and the neighbor's. Those things can grow like a tree if you neglect to chop them down early. Whew!

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all! We had a great weekend, going to see Iron Man on Friday (Mark's choice!), catching up with KimRaye and her gang on Saturday (awesome visit, even if she *is* a Cubs fan!) , doing Stars on Ice Saturday night and then spending the day with Brian & Johnelle up in Lake Geneva on Sunday. I even had flowers delivered that Christopher got for me!

In some family news, just wanted to share with all of you that I am now "officially" a mother in law, as Brian and Johnelle got married!
So now I can really feel old!!!

On another note..my Mom is back in the hospital, for the 4th time in 3 months, 2 days so far now. Still no clue what's wrong with her (after 3 previous hospital stays at 2 different hospitals, over 90 days), or what to do for her. She is most uncomfortable this time , distressed, etc. And, to add to all that, my Dad tells me I'm listed 2nd, after him, on her medical Power of Attorney - gee, thanks for that info Dad. Any thoughts or prayers would be most appreciated.
