Hi everyone! We got home from Hilton Head around 3p today. It was sunny and 80 when we left yesterday.......Glad to be home but sure do miss the weather. We all had a great time; rented bikes, went on a dolphin cruise, did some crafts, spent the day at the beach house, tried to eat at Paula Dean's restaurant in Savannah (ha, ha) but did get an autographed cook book, relaxed, got sunburned and want to return soon!

Glad there was only 5 pages to catch up on...

Becky - sorry for bad luck of last week, hope it gets better - soon!

Donna - great news about your son's GF, hope she continues to improve.

slo - I was so worried about the whole EB thing being out of town, the kids didn't even look for anything Easter morning :confused3 ! I did have a basket of candy and such but they seemed somewhat non-plussed. DD11 did see my shopping list and confronted me about the EB, Santa was also outed this year for her - tough year for her ;) . Just drove past Crowne Point on our way home today....if I'd only known.

piglet - prayers for your mom, we went through radiation and chemo 2x with FIL - he goes for a catscan next week, hopefully it will be clear.

mac - welcome back from hula land...it must be hard adjusting to the time and the weather sure isn't cooperating. Thanks for the show info, can't wait.

geffric - congrats on the new job and wardrobe - have fun shopping!

I know I'm missing some of you, I apologize. Guess I should go and start getting back to reality, have to get uniforms and backpacks ready for Monday. It's good to be home but I sure do love vacation.

:surfweb:

I'm sitting here this morning with my Tastefully Simple Nana's Apple Cake, and some coffee - yummy!!!!!! Boy, did this make my house smell nice, warm, and fuzzy last night - even my kids said the house smelled good :goodvibes

piglet - I'm so glad you're mom is home - continued prayers for her!!!!
**Good luck with Nathan's b-day party today - I'm sure it'll go great!!!! :cool1:
**
25.gif
Happy one day early birthday to Nathan!!!! I hope you have a great day tomorrow, and a wonderful time today!!!!
12.gif

Bunchkin - That's awesome that Fort Wilderness is going to rehab their pool!!!! That'll be great for the next time you guys go!!!

Rose - I"m sorry Chrissy was sick for Spring Break, but I'm glad she's doing better now!! :)

Tigggggern - Stephanie has a hard time parting with her stuffed animals too ::yes::

Navysailor -
18.gif

Thanks for coming by our happy and fun thread!!! Please come by often and visit - we would love to get to know you!!!!! :grouphug:

Mac - I'm still going to make my girls Easter Baskets probably forever (when they are married, if they get married, than it will be for both of them). I truly enjoy making them :goodvibes

ID - Welcome home!!!!! I'm so glad you had a nice trip!!! :yay:

I guess I should start thinking about having some breakfast
Have a good day today everyone!!!!

Just thought I'd stop by and say "Hi!" After getting back from a week-long vacation in the Smoky Mountains, I've been under a mountain of work so I haven't had time to visit the boards much. Good news, though, I successfully defended my thesis last Friday, and after I turn in 3 papers next week I should have some more free time to relax and revel in my Disney obsession again.

Good Sunday Morning all!!

Yesterday was such a lazy day here!!! :goodvibes
Lauren did have a friend come over a while. And I got to play the game Clue with them....I love that game (and movie!!).
You know your kids are getting older when all they want from you is to be the extra person in the board games! :sad1:

Woke up late this morning and DH was already making breakfast!
Good DH!!! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

slo Will you guys have a 1 or 2 bedroom timeshare? I don't remember if I asked you this before. Do you know how long of a drive it will be to the park?
We can't wait to see the new pool at the Fort, but I'm not sure when we will stay there again. It's pretty pricey!!! ::yes:: More so then some deluxe rooms!!! And besides the kids and I are on a quest to stay at all the resorts, well almost all of them.
Nana's Apple is sooooo good!!! :goodvibes I wonder if I have any here.

Tiggerrn It is hard for me to get Lauren to seperate herself from her stuffed toys too. But she will do it as long as I don't throw them out and instead put them in a storage container and stick it in the basement.
Let's just say there are a lot of storage containers in there!!!
Good thing it's a big basement!!
All though, we have sold many stuffed toys at our garage sales. ::yes::
I usually give that money back to the kids. It's an incentive!

Donald'sShrink Hope you had a good trip to the Smokies!!
When you get time we'd all like to hear about it!! :)

Navysailor:boat:
:welcome: to the Chicago thread!!! :wave2:

Time to go play Lego Star Wars video game with the boy!!! :darth: :chewy: :yoda:

slo, my sons are grown and still get the baskets from the Easter Bunny.
we use the original baskets from when they were one year old.

and santa claus is right up there with the other fairies we have in our home.

heard that tomorrow will be a tad warmer but rain.
maybe that will wash away our snow.

you all were lucky, it by passed you last weekend.

donald, glad you are back. aren't vacations so relaxing!!

hi ya bunckin, hersey, samiam and the others i missed...

Congrat on the thesis.:thumbsup2 I am glad your vacation was good too.

This morning we went on a quest for some ideas from Ikea. I need to sit down with pencil and paper and plot out Mr Alex's room he needs a desk in there. I think I'll need a shoe horn and a little luck I'll make one work. With out sacrificing storage :thumbsup2

We splurged and had lunch at Weber grill we have enough for dinner too. :thumbsup2

Mac Hawaii is one place I must take Alex too. I always wanted to go back there. I still remember the smell of flowers and jet fuel at the airport in Honolulu

Good Morning all

It's Monday morning back to work. It's going to be a bit of a crazy week. I work in my office today, meeting in Brookfield tomorrow and downtown the rest of the week.

My kids went to their dad's yesterday. My daughter doesn't normally go so this was tough for me. I miss them already and it is sooooooooo quiet.

I still have the dog here and I am dog sitting my dad's dog as well. So if I'm not working I am walking dogs. lol

macraven - Thank you for posting the show times. I go in each week and record all the shows. The kids and I love watching them in between our trips.

Oh yeah...I booked my Disneyland trip. I had to move it up a week as every resort was booked with my DVC points.

I will be staying at the Disneyland Resort with a premium view. May31st -June 8th

Should be a great trip.

Well I better get ready for work and start walking the doggies.

Have a great day

:surfweb:

Life is going back to normal today - STephanie is done with Spring Break :guilty:
Part of me is bummed out, because it was nice not having the stress of school, but part of me is glad, because I was falling behind with housework, because I kept sleeping in  So, I have a ton of catching up to do:laundy: I was going to do some catching up yesterday, but I just didn't feel like it :sad2: so I lounged around instead - it was great!!!! :)

DS - I'm glad you had a nice time at The Smokey Mountains :)
**congrats on defending your thesis, and good luck with getting that finished:wizard:

Bunchkin - I'm going to admit something, that's almost as embarrassing as my Tastefully Simple brownies turning into a brick:rotfl2: I've never understood how to play the game Clue - never!!!! When I was a kid, my friend and I could never figure it out, so I've always been kind of afraid of that game ever since :rotfl: Now, I do have the video game version of this (old and very cool) that I figured out, but never the board game. I'm sure if I sat down with it now, I could figure it out, but I don't own one - maybe this should be a 2008 goal - a 36 year old trying to figure out Clue:rotfl2: Or, maybe the next time we see you guys, you can just teach me :thumbsup2
**The condo is a 2 bedroom - it'll be so nice!!!! Kevin and I will have our own bathroom - it'll be just like home :) As bummed out as I am, about not staying on property, this will be nice. The drive to WDW is extremely close - literally 5 minutes away from the entrance where the DTD hotels are located.

Mac - Santa will still come to my house too when the girls don't believe anymore too :santa: There are some things that I can't let go  You and I think alot alike :)

HERSEY - MMMmmmmmm.........Weber Grill!!!! :goodvibes What did you have? I always get their filet with Bleu Cheese on top - it's to die for!!!!! :goodvibes

Disneynut - Good luck with your crazy week :wizard: I hope it goes well.
**Congrats on getting your trip booked - it sounds great!!!! :goodvibes

Well, the shower is calling - have a good day today!!!

Had family over last night to celebrate my birthday. It's actually today, but last night was easier for everyone since it was Sunday. Got some new shirts and some other nice things. We ordered pizzas from a new pizzaria down the street I've been wanting to try. Very good. They've actually been open in Naperville for over 20 years, but I'd never tried them. They're called Pieroni's.

So, off to work. I think all companies should give your birthday off, don't you all? Maybe we need to start an uprising or something. ;)

Have a great day all!!

Good morning all!

Well, back to "normal" again. Kids are up, dressed, breakfast eaten and off to school. Would have LOVED to crawl back into bed for a while but I watch my DSis's 2yr old a few days a week and her 10 & 12yr olds are off on break this week so I sent my 3 off to school and got her three  .

:bday: Crissup and everyone else having a b-day this week.

BIL's b-day was while we were away so we went to Hackney's last night to celebrate. Kind of a hike for us and then had to go to in-law's after for cake and didn't get home until 8p :sad2:

mac - thanks for the show info. I think I've seen them all, lol. Really looking forward to Samantha Brown's new ones.

slo - I hear you on getting back in gear. Thankfully we came home with clean clothes so I don't have a mountain of laundry but my 1st floor looks like a bomb went off  . Everything got dragged out of the car and dumped in the hall and living room :scared: .

Some of you might have noticed that my ticker for our Oct trip has disappeared, have no fear we're still going :) . It is a suprise trip for our kids, they know nothing :rolleyes1 . They've taken an interest in my posting and want to see all the pics and smilies so I deleted my ticker so they won't see :ssst: . Our ADR window opens next week so I've got to get planning. We're trying AKV concierge so they'll make all my ADRs and such so I've got to get them worked out. Oh darn, guess I'll have to research on-line a lot this week :rotfl: .

Well, off to get dressed and start putting some order in this house! Have a great day everyone!

Happy Birthday to John and Nathan..:cheer2: :flower3: :woohoo:

.

:bday: Crissup and everyone else having a b-day this week.

BIL's b-day was while we were away so we went to Hackney's last night to celebrate. Kind of a hike for us and then had to go to in-law's after for cake and didn't get home until 8p :sad2: !

Which Hackney's?? The one in Wilmette or Lake Zurich?? Is there another one?? I do love Hackney's though.. the black bread that falls apart while your trying to eat the burger and makes a mess on my hands.. and the onion rings.. YUMMY!!!

Well the kids are home and back to scholl and crappy as ever.. IS that perpetual for a teen????? Glad they are back at scholl, as this is my last week at the old job..and I am working from home most of the weeK.. I'm taking it easy.. :)

Worked on the Eagle ppt and program yesterday. Plus I have been a shopping fool all weekend.. but I got some great bargains..

I am back.. work phone rang.. so ..

But I have a Penny's charge and lots of stuff was reduced and then a 15% discount for using the Penny's charge so.. saved lots of $$$

Good Morning Everyone! Woohoo for Opening day at Wrigley Field! Busy day today at work so I'm going to try and keep this short!

Bunchkin ~ Lego Star Wars is a fun game! And thanks for reassuring me the tickets are on the KTTW. I just randomly started to panic. :confused3

Mac ~ Thanks for the info on the shows. I watched Princess cakes last night actually. I love food network challenges (especially when they are cakes and/or Disney)

Slo ~:wave2:

hope everyone had a great weekend!

Good morning all!

Whew! I made it through the recital! Having 6 three-year-old girls to keep track of was pretty challenging, but no one got lost, left behind, or injured. Go me! ;) DD did great! At the rehearsal, she was too busy watching the little girl next to her instead of her teacher, but with a little reminder before her dance at the actual recital, she watched her teacher really well. She danced to "Every Girl Can Be A Princess" and even remembered to touch her shoe at the right time. It was very cute! All the girls (and one little boy, too) did such a wonderful job - I can't use the word "cute" enough! :lovestruc

As for keeping them entertained, we were told at our room moms meeting not to bring anything for the girls. I broke the rules and brought a big bag of goldfish crackers as we would be dancing right through lunch, but it turns out I didn't need any entertainment for the girls after all. Their moms stayed with them almost until curtain time, and then we all filed into the auditorium to watch the show from balcony seats. We left to do our dance and then went back to the auditorium to watch the rest of the show, then back down for curtain call. In all, the preschool part of the show was only about 1.5 hours long, so the girls were all pretty good. DD is already talking about doing another recital - I think she's got the bug! :goodvibes

After the recital it was off to a family birthday party and then finally home. We have the whole week off for spring break - no dance or gymnastics. What will I do with my free time?? Well, like slo, I am catching up on my housework and I put all my Easter decorations away. Now I'm off to the dry cleaners - DH is almost out of shirts for work. Welcome back to all the travelers - wish the weather was nicer but at least rain is better than that white stuff - and :wave2: to everyone else.

Sorry this is such a self-absorbed post! Have a great day!!:umbrella:

ZeroMyHero Whee what a reief to have the dance part over.. sounds like you did a great job.. Congrats.. enjoy spring break..

Howdy y'all!! :wave2:

So my kids are back to school too! DD was ready 20 minutes early which is not the norm! She must have been anxious to get back! :)

Hersey Lauren wants a desk from IKEA too. But she has absolutely NO room in her room for a desk!
Good luck squeezing one in to Alex's! :)

slo You can come over any time and we'll teach you how to play Clue! :thumbsup2
I didn't know they made a video game version. Which video game player is it for?
Do you know that they have a Disney's Haunted Mansion version of Clue?
I soooooo want that one!!!
I think you guys will have a great time at the timeshare because of all the room you'll have. And it sounds like it's very close to the parks. Will you drive to the parks each day or do they have a shuttle?

piglet Happy B-Day to Nathan!!! :cake:

Crissup Happy B-Day to you! :cake:
My DH never has worked on his b-day! I guess no one ever told him it's not allowed!!
I say leave work early!! :thumbsup2

geffric Sounds like you really made out on the clothes shopping! Good for you!! :)

Zero All that worry about entertaining the girls and all the mom's ended up staying anyway!! :) I'm glad your DD enjoyed the recital!!

disneygal I'll add another  to opening day at Wrigley!
Too bad it might get rained out though!!
My DS said they need to close the roof on the park! He had no idea that it doesn't have a roof, let alone one that is hiding and can be closed! His reply was "That's silly!".

Have a great, rainy day all!!!
It's already raining here. :umbrella: :fish:

So, off to work. I think all companies should give your birthday off, don't you all? Maybe we need to start an uprising or something. ;)

Have a great day all!!

Happy Birthday!!!!! I agree but you can also cheat like me. My birthday occassionally fell on a National Holiday, so sometimes I DID get it off by default and even got paid for it. :lmao: That happened a lot more when I was a kid though and got school off before they decided all holidays must be on a Monday if at all possible.
