SO EXCITED!:cool1: It's less than one week to the Jersey Boys with DS and DD! (DH had other plans) DS bought me the soundtrack on walmart.com so I can listen to it during my work commute this week. My secretary went in January and said it was awesome. :worship: I absolutely can't wait! Then our next big event is DD's high school graduation and on to WDW in June. Time Flies when you're having funpopcorn:: :surfweb: :cool2: princess:

Hope all my Chicago buddies are having a marvelous Easter Sunday! No snow at least..lol.

Anyone have any leads on jobs for a PC Technician/Network person? He has A+, MCSE certifications plus has been doing this since geez, forever.

Actually, yes, my company is looking for people. I believe at the moment, we've still got a helpdesk position open, an active directory admin position open and two network engineer positions open.

If he's got his MCSE and has been doing this a long time, he's probably not looking for a helpdesk position, and those aren't really network credentials. But, the Active Directory admin position is probably right up his alley.

If you send me his resume, I'll submit it to the appropriate manager.

Happy Easter everyone! I am well on my way to a sugar coma! Df made me a Reester basket- all varieties of Reeses. He also got me Mickey maryjane Crocs and a bunch of Disney Jibbitz. What a keeper!

John -- Great, I'll get his updated resume to you. Appreciate it.

I hope everyone had a good Easter and hopefully some of you had our backs. We didn't make it to church today. How awful to not go on Easter. DS-11 was staying home with DH because he has an awful cough.

However, the rest of us were ready to go -- We get in the car to leave and "click, click" when turning the key. HMMM...THAT'S not good. Call DH up to take a look (hey -- that's his job lawn care & vehicle maintenance ;) ) but I'm sure the battery is dead.

I don't have a clue WHY because as far as I know nothing was left on, etc...

He takes a look and the whole thing is corroded (sp?), so he gets to go out there and work on the car -- Hmm...well Sunday School is a wash, maybe we can make the main service still, we have an hour.

Apparently the easy fix didn't help it out any, so he worked on it some more. By the time it was actually ready to go, church was going to start in 15 minutes. It takes me at least 20 minutes to get to there (normally I leave 30 minutes early but we can squeeze 20 minutes if all lights are green, etc..) and I didn't want to walk in late on Easter (I get frazzled enough on regular Sundays if we are late).

I think it's working now but not sure...good thing we are on Spring break.

My brother works for a company that deals with car batteries and he gets 1 free car battery a/year apparently. He offered to get us a battery, works for ME as we will probably need a new one. I don't know if DH told him what kind we need before he left tonight (probably not).

I'm just glad today is over. We were the hosting family of Easter, so it was a long day. Although my mom brought most of the food over.

Happy belated Easter everyone!!!!

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday - I had absolutly no time:sad2:

The girls woke us up at 7am and they found their Easter baskets, and then did their Easter egg hunt:) After that, we sat on the floor and examined what was in their basket for quite some time. Then we had to get ready for church, and then go to church - which was at 11:30am. After church, we came home, and our company came over soon after. Our family/company stayed until 8pm, and then we got the house back in order, got Katie to bed, Stephanie and I watched TV, and then we went to bed. That was our day in a nutshell:)

I did have something sad happen this Easter - STephanie told me that a classmate told her that the Easter Bunny isn't real, and she said that she believes him - she then asked me if it was true. I told her that he was right, and that it was Kevin and I (this really killed me to admit too). I told her that now she can have a lot of fun pretending with us for Katie's sake. She looked really disappointed, but happy that I admitted to it. I know she's growing up, but her knowing about the Easter Bunny did make me sad:sad1:

HERSHEY - How was your Easter egg hunt yesterday? That sounds like fun!!!

Disneynut - Have fun planning your DL trip :cool1:

paint - Sounds like you had a nice day when you went to Woodfield:) That Taco Fresco place is by us, and I never had it - what do you think of it?
**That Reeses basket sounds yummy!!!! :goodvibes

Becky - I'm so sorry to hear about your DH losing his job  I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers, that he will find another job soon, and that it won't be to difficult :wizard: Whenever you need to talk, we are always here for you!!!!:grouphug:

Donna - What great news about Brians GF :yay: I will continue to keep her in my prayers that her recovery is short, and not to difficult:angel: :wizard:
**That's awesome news about Christopher!!!!:woohoo: Good for him!!!! Keep us posted on how he is doing!

Rose - Did the kids have a nice Easter?

Crissup - :wave2:

piglet - I'm so glad your TS Party went well!!! :woohoo:

Kim - Have fun at The Dells!!!! :cool1:

dzneelvr - I would love to see The Jersey Boys too ::yes:: You'll have to give us a full report after you see it.

CarolAnn - :wave2:

Well, I guess I need to get going and get ready for work.
Stephanie is off all this week, so it'll be nice not having to get her out the door to early.

Have a good day today!!!!

Good Morning

I hope everyone's Easter was good.

My daughter woke up at 6 AM. She wouldn't get out of bed until I confirmed that the Easter Bunny had already came.

She was so excited when she saw her basket and all the eggs around the house. I think I had about 50 eggs.

Slo- My son just learned last year about the Easter Bunny/ Santa Claus. He was so disappointed. Now he loves helping me with his sister's stuff. He helped filled her stocking at Christmas, Put out gifts and this Easter helped hide eggs.

I still get him Santa Gifts and an Easter Basket so he loves it.

Well I need to get ready for work and get the kids up for school.
Have a great day

Hey everyone!

I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. Luckily, I extended mine a couple extra days. Work was like HE double hockey sticks last week and I didn't have much chance to get on the boards. What with Bear Stearns blowing up and my co-worker off last week, I was busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest.

So what did the Easter bunny bring to your house. We got a few movies and some candy. We geared down quite a bit this year on the "giftage" at Easter. Megan's getting older and I didn't think there was a need for a big old basket with crappy little toys in it. She's gotten those in the past and by June, I was tossing the stuff in the garbage. So, I got her old "bunny" basket out of the crawlspace, freshened him up, and he was the basket this year. Good enough.

I haven't had a chance to read up on what's been going on with everyone else. So, I better head back and do that. Hope you all have been happy and healthy!!

I am just sitting here in my jammies this morning, doing this... :surfweb: Now that's what I call living...

Morning Everyone!:flower3: Hope everyone had a great Easter! Mine was nice. I helped my dad make dinner, actually, he did most of it... I made the cherry sauce for the ham. I was nervous b/c we've never tried it and I found a recipe and well... it sounded good, and it was!! I was so excited! My nephews loved their Easter baskets I made them. granted, the youngest probably had know idea what was going on seeing as he is only 7 months old! but he like the Lucky (from 101 dalmations) stuffed animal I got him! Alex, he's 3, was having so much fun with his basket! so overall, Easter was definitely a success! I hope everyone's kids enjoyed their Easter baskets! I now know how much thought and time actually goes into what you are putting in them!

Slo ~ I'm sorry Stephanie found out about the Easter bunny. :( It is sad when you find out. The opera was great, not my favorite but still nice!

Well, hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning all!!!

Hope everyone's Easter was good!! :goodvibes

Ours went well! Kids loved their Easter baskets. Even though they weren't filled with the usual tiny little stuff I swore off, they still loved what they got. Movies, books, video game, candy, Webkinz for both and a few extra things too....plus Disney Dollars.
Had family over and ate too much food! Played Clue and Jenga! Lots of fun!

paint Your basket sounds way yummy!! I just made a lemon cake on Sat. And made a glaze for the top! I was so yummy! It served it with fresh whipped cream and sliced strawberries! Maybe you could just make your son a lemon cake and warm some really good raspberry jam in a pot and then drizzle it over the cake!!

Becky Sorry to hear about your DH's job! I wish him lots of luck in his search for a new one! :wizard:

disneygal Cherry sauce sounds good!

Kim Have a great time at the Dells!!! I haven't been in ages!
My mom, however, told us she's taking the whole family there her treat! I just don't know when yet!!

slo Wow! I can't believe that Steph doesn't believe any more. :guilty:
I wonder if she'll now question Santa too!
I'm not sure what Lauren thinks. I did ask her if she believed in the EB, and she did say yes, but I think she really doesn't. I think she says she does because she thinks if she doesn't she won't get a basket any more!! :)

Hersey Did you have the egg hunt inside or outside?

Sam Sorry to hear you were so busy at work.

John Your comment made me laugh too!

An update on our family:

Brian's gf is *awake*! :) She is now in the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, and is having physical therapy, and seems to be responding very well. Thank you all for your continued thoughts & prayers...prayers really do work!

Christopher LOVES his new job! I just hate that he is so far away...it's Reno, Nevada, not Las Vegas. But, the other day he told me he is "living his dream"! and I am so happy for him!:)

So good to hear the good news! :yay:

I hope Brian's gf is on the mend and will be able to go home soon! :goodvibes

And I'm glad Christopher is living his dream. Not many people can say that! :thumbsup2

Good morning and Happy belated Easter!

I hope everyone had a better Easter than I did. My difficult brother turned a perfectly good discussion into a nasty arguement and wouldn't agree to disagree or let it go. It put a damper on our family get-together, to say the least.

slo - I thought my meeting was this Saturday, but it's not until this coming Saturday. Such an early Easter has really thrown me off track! I'm sorry about your daughter finding out about the EB. :sad1:

disneygal - glad you enjoyed the opera! I see Natalie Dessay is coming back next year for Manon. She was amazing in Lucia de Lammermoor in '04 - she brought the house down after her first aria. I'd love to see her perform again. She completely made up for the horrible Regina I saw earlier that season.

DD loved her basket. I never have much candy - it's just not a big deal in our house - but EB brought her some Little Einsteins figures that she really loves. She hunted for eggs and found them all pretty quickly. EB needs to find tougher hiding spots next year, I guess. We only colored about 6 eggs this year, so I'll just make them into egg salad as DH loves it. Coloring eggs is so much fun but all of you are right, how many can one person/family eat?

Going back to the vet today. Our kitty needs her second booster shot for the year. Hope everyone has a great day. :goodvibes

Hello everyone! Yesterday was fun and went by too fast. The kids had their annual easter egg hunt outside. My friend and I sat inside looking at the kids run around while her husband "helped" the kids.

My aunt and uncle are tired of waiting for spring to come so they are traveling south and promise to bring it back with them. :rotfl: I wish I could just travel like that. They are enjoying being retired.

I'm glad it sounds like everyone had a good family day.

Slo Sorry to hear about Stephanie. Alex never believed in the Easter bunny (it's the no thumb thing)the kid is too smart sometimes and clueless the next minute.:confused3 Must be the teenage boy in him.

I know she's growing up, but her knowing about the Easter Bunny did make me sad:sad1:
My sympathies Sandy! :sad1: I remember telling my son about 10 years ago, and I'm not looking forward to telling Kelly either. Loss of innocence. :sad1:

I slept in a little this morning since Stephanie has Spring Break:)

Thanks to all that gave their sympathies for Stephanie not believing in the Easter Bunny anymore - you are all so sweet!!!!! :grouphug:

Disneynut - I told Stephanie that she can now have fun pretending for her sisters sake, and she did a great job on Sunday:thumbsup2

Sam - Enjoy your couple of days off :goodvibes

DG - I'm sorry the opera was no the greatest:guilty: At least you still had a good time :)

Bunchkin - I think Stephanie was afraid that she wouldn't get a basket anymore, because the look on her face was such disappointment. But I told her that I'm always going to make her a basket, and as long as Katie still believes, I'm always going to hide her eggs - then she was happy!!!!:goodvibes I was actually going to tell Stephanie after this Easter anyway, I was just disappointed that some kid on the playground beat me to it :guilty: Oh well, I guess there's a lot she's going to learn on the playground that I'm not going to be happy about:rolleyes:

Zero - I'm so sorry that your Easter was not the greatest:guilty:
**The EB is going to have to hide Katie's Easter eggs harder too next year. She found them so fast!!!! The EB hides Stephanies eggs harder (her stuff is all downstairs), and there was some that the Easter Bunny (Kevin) couldn't remember where he put them:rolleyes: Thank goodness they aren't real:eek:

HERSEY - Has Alex ever believed that the characters at WDW are real? Stephanie is a firm believer that they are real, and I'm debating if I should tell her otherwise. I'm so afraid of her telling the wrong kids at school she believes, and then she is teased about it for a long time. I was teased alot at school, when I was little, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone :sad2:

Kim - It is a loss of innocence:sad1: !! That's a very good way to put it.

Well, I should go get ready for work, and get Stephanie up. My mom will be here at 9am to pick her up, and then I won't see Steph again until tomorrow afternoon. She's so excited to have a sleepover at my moms:banana:

Have a good day!!

Good morning all!!!

slo I hope Steph has fun at your mom's house! :)
I'm afraid someone is going to break the news to Lauren really soon that the EB and Santa are not real. I've been thinking of telling her too, but don't want to be a mean mom!

ZeroMyHero Sorry to hear your brother put a samper on the Easter holiday for you.
My son loves the Little Einsteins too!!:goodvibes

hersey So were the eggs in any snow, or is the snow finally all melted by you??

good morning everyone! :flower3: wow is it windy outside! I was walking to work this morning and nearly got blown into the street... so i decided walking next to the buildings would help... it did! I have finished my rough itineraries for the trip! Just basic info and what not, now all i need to do is get them looking fabulous! :goodvibes

Slo ~ the opera was good, i just prefer lighter opera (la boheme, julius ceasar, barber of seville, etc) I understand what you mean about being nervous that Stephanie will get teased if she still believes. I was teased alot in grade school and junior high. Kids can be brutal. :scared1: good luck making your decision!
