Hi all-
Just wanted to do a quick check-in and say hello to all :wave2:

My kids are off of school today for Good Friday and are on Spring break all next week.
We had such a nice day yesterday weatherwise, and now all this snow :confused3 bleh.

My kids saw High School Musical thru the Jr High school performance as a field trip this past Wed. They both enjoyed it :thumbsup2

I also bought the Enchanted dvd lately and we watched it yest afternoon. Matthew really likes the "That's How You Know" song, the one where Giselle sings in Central Park.

THe kids are driving me crazy right now.

Geffric- I PM'd you lately.

Mac is enjoying Hawaii right now :beach:

Hi to all :wave2:

Gotta run.

Someone PLEASE make this snow stop...it's depressing.

I looked out saw a dusting & thought that wasn't too bad.

Then looked again & it was snowing but stopped. I got the kid's lunch looked out again and it is now snowing quite a bit!!! I may actually have to go out and shovel the driveway....YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to get ready to dye eggs soon (well..the kids will -- I just get the eggs ready) and clean the house -- yes I've been pushing that off. I actually was making DD's Easter Dress that she decided she needed me to make last Sunday....EEK!!! Luckily? she had a dress she wore in 7th grade for Patriot's day and we modernized that one. She wants me to add a bunny & egg applique to it. I told her will see if I get time --otherwise it's completed even if those don't show up on it.

The poor boys, I have nothing for them to wear though -- looks like it will be jeans with a nice shirt as usual. I was thinking I could whip up some vests for them but most the stuff we have here for fabric is too girly as far as I'm concerned and I really don't want a dark color, was wanting something a bit more springy (although......with the snow...winter might just be fine!). Depends on how energetic I get later.

Good afternoon everyone! What a beautiful day in the neighborhood - NOT! Ugh, I can't wait to get out of town!

I've been watching my DSis's 2yr old a couple of days a week while she is working, well today I also have her 10 and 12yr olds! 6 kids in the house while we're trying to get ready to leave town - DH is none too happy :lmao: .

The snow here had stopped, I wish it had stayed away for a while longer so we could have gotten the bags in the roof top carrier, not sure what we're going to do now. Last night I had the bright idea that we should try and do it then but DH reminded me that the van wouldn't fit in the garage then - oops :rolleyes1 .

Disneynut71 - I second Crissup's recommendation for Blue Bayou. I've only been to DL once and we didn't eat there but it sure looked cool when we rode Pirates.

Hershey - we LOVE Malnati's deep dish, mmmmmmmm. Last week we tried a place closer to our house and it couldn't compare to Malnati's.

Well, this will probably be the last time I'm on-line so have a great Easter everyone and I'll see you next week!

Good evening all!! Hope everyone is having a nice day in spite of the weather.:rolleyes1
Happy tripping to all those of you off on vacation. Have wonderful trips and please bring the warm weather back home with you.
We colored eggs today. Kids had fun. We had friends from up the street over and friends of ours that had moved to Frankfort. All the kids played Wii for a while, we ate Lil Ceasars Pizza and then colored the eggs. It was actually a nice day.
Bunchkin, I think most places have a 50foot from entrances rule for a non- smoking ban. I know that is what it is at the hospital. So I guess the mall would be the same since you encounter entrances along the walkways.:confused3
Paint, go to the Dr. Whatever it is that is going around, with the sore throat then coughing your fool head off, then feeling like you've been run over by a Mack Truck, does not go away on it's own well. With the zithromycin, I managed to get over that part in just a few days. Then, I followed it with food poisoning (or stomach flu that lasted only 18 hours:confused3 ). But, that sore throat bug is horrid and needs to be checked out. Take care and feel better soon!!!
Slo, my kids weren't interested in the EB this year (or last either I don't think). They only want the goods!!:rotfl2: And somewhere along the line, kids these days seem to think EB is as generous as the Jolly Old Elf. Mine will have a rude awakening Sunday morning!!
Becky you are being quite ambitious sewing again before the holiday. I have to prepare Taffy Apple Salad and a Fresh Fruit platter for the family lunch (and I won't even be there.):headache: Since DH and kids are the only ones attending, I think DH and kids should have to prepare the food. Plus I have to work 12 hours tomorrow as well as Easter. And fruit you have to do last minute. I hope it sits well overnight. I will have to cut it up tomorrow night. I have to start the TA Salad stuff tonight since the sauce has to be prepared and left in fridge overnight. I didn't pick these items. They were assigned.:rolleyes1 I would have had DH stop for pies at Bakers Square.
DisneyNut, you will find so many things at DL that are done better than WDW. Pirates at DL is awesome as is Space Mountain (as Leigh said). And I truly think the Remember fireworks are much better than Wishes, so don't miss them. And Fantasmic is better at DL, IMHO. Only bad thing is there really isn't any "seating", so get there early to get a decent spot in the center to watch it from. The Nemo Subs are neat, but if you aren't first in the gate, save it for during a parade or last thing at night. Waits will mount to 2 hours quickly. I lucked out with this last summer as I was in a boot for a broken ankle, so we got put in a different line and only had a 10 minute wait.:thumbsup2 It was nice, but I wouldn't waste 2 hours in line for it.
KimRaye, my DD loves Webkinz too. Except lately, Nintendo DS has taken over.
Well, I had better get a move on and finish up :laundy: and then make my TA salad sauce. Have a great weekend and I hope you all have a wonderful Easter celebration with your families.

Kim - Thanks!!!!! :goodvibes
The stylist told me that I have a lot of new hair coming in, and I said, "Oh good, that means I'm not going bald." and he said, "Oh, you DON"T have to worry about that" I was glad!!!! :)
**I bet Kelly loves her outfit - Stephanie always loved her dance outfits. When she does her show, is she alone, or with a group? What is the song she is skating to?
I'M the one going bald! You're blessed!! ;)

Skate show is in a group. They are skating to a song from Happy Feet. :dance3: The original costumes were penguin suits, but thankfully, they changed to traditional ice show dresses!

Kim Are you asking if they are also on sale on Limited Too's web site? If so, I'm sure of that. But they are at the stores.
Hunter and Lauren do have user names, I'll have to pm you.
That's nice to hear that Kelly is doing well with the clarinet. :goodvibes How long has she been playing? I played for many years before giving it up. Played concert band, marching band, jazz band, etc.
I'll check the website, thanks!

Waiting :rolleyes1 for user names PM. ;)

Kelly just started playing when school started so, 5 months maybe. She picks it up easily, but she's no prodigy, as in she plays well, picks it up fast, but she's not a 'musician', so to speak, imo.

KimRaye, my DD loves Webkinz too. Except lately, Nintendo DS has taken over.
We met at Wicked, right? DD alternates between DS and Webkinz and Club Penguin, etc. When I take away one, she thinks the others are ok! NOT! If you're comfortable, PM your DDs Webkinz user name! Kelly sends stuff all the time! :thumbsup2

HOPPY EASTER ONE AND ALL!!!! :grouphug:

PLEASE MAKE THIS SNOW GO AWAY THO!!! :headache:

We are so ready for Easter - now if we could get rid of this snow!!! :cold:

Yesterday Kevin had some time alone, so he stuffed all the plastic eggs, so we don't have to do that tonight. He also got the potatoes rinsed and wrapped in foil, so that's also done :thumbsup2 I set the dining room table yesterday (I always try to make this look stunning) so that officially done :thumbsup2 It's to bad the kids play with their Easter baskets, or I would've taken those last night and filled them - but that would have been obvious:rolleyes: Oh well, at least the other things are done, so that's awesome :teeth:

Today I have to work, but I may skip out for awhile in the afternoon to come home and do a little housecleaning - than I don't have to do it tonight:) I really love that my employee can be left alone - I really am taking advantage of it:thumbsup2

DG - How was the opera last night? I've never been to an opera, and I would love to experience this someday. The closest I've been to an opera, was Phantom of the Opera, oh which I really want to see again :)

piglet - You were right about the snow - we didn't get much that stuck :woohoo: It's snowing right now, but again, I don't think it will stick:banana:
**Oh....how did your party go last night? Did you have a good turnout?

Zero - Have a good meeting today? I hope you guys think of alot of good things :)

Crissup - I have a DIS friend on another thread whos screen name is Blue Bayou, and whenever I see the restaurant mentioned, it always throws me for a loop:laughing:

Bunchkin - How's your headache doing? I hope it's gone away :wizard:

Rose - We haven't seen Enchanted yet, and I really want to ::yes:: I'll have to rent it sometime while Stephanie is no Spring Break.

Becky - My girls dyed eggs last night too ::yes:: This is one of my least favorite activites, and it's only because I don't like hard boiled eggs, and I end up throwing them away:rolleyes: It's alot of work, to throw them in the garbage.

ID - I bet you are getting excited about your trip:cool1: Happy Easter to you too!!! :goodvibes

Tigggernnnnnnnnnnnn - Sounds like you had a fun day yesterday:goodvibes

Kim - That's good that Kelly doesn't have penquins outfits - that doesn't sound easy to skate in:sad2: Plus, they probably weren't very pretty, where the dress is probably very cute:cutie:

Well, I gotta go jump in the shower
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Kim hang on this snow is not going to be around forever. I heard this morning by friday we should be in the 50's. :woohoo:

Poor Alex the last couple of times he had off of school he had to shovel driveways. I think he might be a little nervous about next week. :rotfl:

I need to do some laundry, cleaning and baking for tomorrow

I hope everyone has a great Easter I'm not sure if I'll be on tomorrow we are supposed to have our annual Easter egg hunt with the neighbors. I not sure if it is going to be outside. That would be to easy among all this white. We couldn't do hot and cold potato.

Happy Saturday

It has been a long week, I am so glad the weekend is finally here.

Thank you all for your advice on DL We are so excited. I think we are going to try for the Disneyland Hotel. The pool looks awesome and from the pictures it seems to have the most "Disney Magic"

I am glad we didn't get the snow that they were talking about on the news. Kids have easter egg hunt today. It should be fun finding eggs in the snow.

Gotta go, have a great day and a very Happy Easter.

DGal- I am studying Eng for HS.
Tiggerrn- Throat is starting to feel better and no cough. I just had sore throat and stiff neck.
Slo- What time should we be over? Dinner sounds so nice! We aren't doing much.
Becky and other snow haters- It started coming down during our last few miles to Woodfield. It was really bad, too. I was white knuckling those last few miles, praying we'd get there in one piece!

Went to Woodfield! Df bought the ds and dd Webkinz from Lim 2 and we had a small lunch at Taco Fresco. Then we did tons of shopping. Df suprised me with a few things from the Dis store and we visited the Doorway to Dreams store and picked up info. Then we went to Joe's Crab Shack to meet family for dinner. Ds' bday is new week and I had him give his Gma the DVC info and tell her that was what he wanted for his bday!:lmao: She laughed. I then reminded her the wedding was coming up!:thumbsup2
Going to order ds' bday cake- lemon with raspberry filling. Strange boy!

Becky - My girls dyed eggs last night too ::yes:: This is one of my least favorite activites, and it's only because I don't like hard boiled eggs, and I end up throwing them away:rolleyes: It's alot of work, to throw them in the garbage.

I know, I'm the only one who likes hard boiled eggs but there is no way I can eat 4 dozen!!! Luckily, with hosting Easter this year, I'm hoping to pawn off some on other people, so we end up throwing out less.

Anyone have any leads on jobs for a PC Technician/Network person? He has A+, MCSE certifications plus has been doing this since geez, forever.

DH got a call Friday night about an hour after he got home to not come into work on Monday. So, he's looking for a job. *sigh* Here we go again!!! He got laid off in 2003 from a job he had almost 10 years due to work slow down (or "you are older & making too much money target" ;) as he was grandfathered in & above the maximum he could make). He did get a good recommendation from his supervisor, etc...

This job was through Manpower but was temp to hire. They had been telling him since Nov/Dec that they were planning on hiring him on full-time. Hmm...guess not.

So, we have no income at the moment. So, not fun. You would have thought they could have let him know before he walked out the door on Friday, instead of waiting to drop it on him via a phone call and then it ended up being on voicemail no less.

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL! :goodvibes

Happy Spring! Hard to believe it's really spring with all the white stuff that refuses to give up!

An update on our family:

Brian's gf is *awake*! :) She is now in the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, and is having physical therapy, and seems to be responding very well. Thank you all for your continued thoughts & prayers...prayers really do work!

Christopher LOVES his new job! I just hate that he is so far away...it's Reno, Nevada, not Las Vegas. But, the other day he told me he is "living his dream"! and I am so happy for him!:)

I hope everyone gets to enjoy a very nice holiday with friends and family this weekend!

Take care, all!

Becky,
I'm so sorry to hear about your DH's job loss :sad2: :guilty:
That really stinks :headache:
Has your DH put his resume on Careerbuilder.com and Monster.com?
My DH did that last spring, thinking he knew he was eventually going to be laid off with mortgage accounting he had been doing the past 7 yrs- b/c of the mortgage industry. As you remember, he got laid off at hte end of June without any severence pay or severence package and without a job to go to next. DH had updated his resume on careerbuilder.com and monster.com at that time in the summer and then he had a flood of phone calls from recruiters, temp agencies, permanent agencies, etc. He was going to recruiter interviews everyday in July and part of August. He also went on 2 different job fairs in the summer. He met the head manager of one of the accounting temp agencies at 1 of the job fairs and they really liked him and they finally were able to get him the temp job in the position he has now, which he went permanent 2 months ago.

It sure takes a ton of work nowadays to get a permanent full-time position, when you don't have a Bachelors or Masters degree, unless it is in nursing, as nursing you can have AAS(Associate of Applied Science) degree and get a job.

It would really benefit your DH to put his resume on careerbuilder.com and monster.com. Sometimes hours afterwards of putting your resume up on those, you start get phone calls to go in to have inteviews with recruiters.
You also get emails from careerbuilder and monster for job listings as well.

I will also PM you a website that your DH can also look for a job. It's not careerbuilders or monster. It's something else.

Donna, so glad to hear Brian's gf is doing alot better! What great news! :yay:
Glad to also hear Christopher likes his new job! :thumbsup2

Ok, gotta run.

Have a good Easter everyone!

crissup Are you a smoker?

I am not now, but I was for 18 years. I started at a very young age and quit before I hit 30. When I quit, I really wasn't trying to. I enjoyed the habit immensely, but it just kinda happened that I quit for a few days one time when I had a chest cold and was curious how long I could hold out. The withdrawal slammed me on day 3 and once I realized what was happening to me, I got so mad that I swore I'd give them up for good. I do still enjoy a good cigar on occassion.

Having smoked for so many years, I know extremely well how it feels from the smoker's point of view and I generally side with them on the smoking/anti-smoking legal debates. I don't like to be around it either, but I know both sides and don't believe anyone should have the right to dictate other's behaviour. I also don't like the odor of flatulance, but I'm not seeing flatulance/no-flatulance sections in restaurants.

Donna ~ That is great news! I hope that her recovery goes smooth and fast.

Becky ~ Sorry to hear about your husband's job. What does he do?

My TS party last night was my best ever. Not only were sales great, but I got two set bookings with a possible third. :cool1:

donna- Glad ds' gf is making progress!
piglet- congrats on the party. ts has some good looking new stuff!

we just dyed eggs now. i like hard boiled eggs, but how many can (should one person eat). we are celebrating ds' bday on mon. with stuffed shells, salad, and bread...and deviled eggs. one of these things is not like the other...
also ran all over looking to order his cake. the bakeries are closed mon. and in sotre bakeries don't make lemon with rasp. filling. grr!

Kim - That's good that Kelly doesn't have penquins outfits - that doesn't sound easy to skate in:sad2: Plus, they probably weren't very pretty, where the dress is probably very cute:cutie:
You know it! :thumbsup2

Hope your Easter is STUNNING! :goodvibes
