We jsut booked this cabin for Sept 19-23 cruise, and I was just curious what to expect. I went last June with husband and kids in 2506. This year I'm traveling with my mom and sisters.

I would like to see an answer to this as well, because we are in cabin 8038 for the May 1 Eastern, for our first Disney cruise!!! I have been lurking and soaking up the information from all you wonderfully in-the-know people and love it!!!

Thanks for any information anyone can supply.

I don't know the answer to your questions but welcome to the DIS to both jfbsab and ScrapHappyMama!

Have a wonderful cruise.

Isn't 8048 a Cat. 3? If so, 2 bathrooms for the women will come in very handy. Concierge service is great. You can pre-book Palo and have a concierge meeting to book spa appointments. You get priority boarding and also a separate check-in (all the way at the far end). I think you will really enjoy it. You are between elevator banks, midship tends to be crowded. We always used the stairs to go up to deck 9 (we were in 8602 all the way aft). We varied between using forward and aft elevators. We almost never used midship. I also like the gold KTTW cards. :D

but we had a Cat 4 room across the hall on the opposite side and 1 door down and personally we hated it! I know alot of people who love the location of those rooms but for us listening to the sail away party going on forever above your heads, the kids RUNNING up and down the deck, chairs scraping around, did I mention the kids running? It was very annoying and very distracting to get our kids to go to sleep. We ended up putting our sound machine on very loud in order to drown out the sounds coming from above us. Also it was convenient to get to the pool deck but going down to dinner with 3 kids in tow walking up and down the stairs because we could NEVER get an elevator that high up was a pain as well. Our kids were very good sports about it and once they finally got into bed and settled down they slept well but hubby and I did not. The sail away party I think it was in Nassau went for SO long and was SO loud we didnt even need to open our balcony door..we could hear it through the floor and glass. Some people must either have a higher threshold for annoyances or something because it was very distracting to us for the cost.

We are now on Deck 6 in 2 connecting Cat 8's and I cant wait! I guess it's all a matter of preference but if it were me..I wouldn't fork out all that money to stay in a suite where you can hear everyone's actions above you!

First of all..... welcome to the DIS. Unfortunately, I have bad news for you........

We stayed in 8048 last September, and even though the room is very nice, we will NEVER stay anywhere near that location again. It was very noisy, especially very early in the morning (4:30 - 5:00am). We could hear a lot of noise resulting from the crew getting things set up for the day...... carts rolling, tables and chairs being moved around, etc. It was also very noisy during the deck party in Nassau...... it was a real relief when that was over.

We have a cat 4 under the hair salon booked for our next cruise. Hopefully that will be a lot quieter.
