Button Question!

I would not worry about it, nobody but you knows when your bdays were anyway. DW has bday in June, Mine is August (60 for both of us) and our anniv is end of Sept. (41 yrs) We have a Disney trip planned for first of Dec and plan on getting bday buttons and anniv buttons to celebrate.:cool1:

thanks :) We have 5 birthdays within a few months of each other, plus a wedding anniversary too, so we are packing it all into one trip as well.

eta: Happy Anniversary!! 41 years! that's fantastic :) My husband and I are about to hit 2 years, but I was married before (husband#1 passed away 5 years ago), and this year would have been mine and hubby #1s 15th wedding anniversary. It's a big milestone.

Love seeing the positivity, I think I'm gonna go for it and get a birthday pin for myself too! Its been a VERY rough school semester for my DBF and I and we can use all the smiles from strangers we can get. ::yes::

I was planning to get my birthday button for our trip in mid December but my birthday is in early January and I'm thinking twice as well. Seeing all the positivity here, I might just go ahead and get it anyway!

Don't give it a second thought!:)

Disney seriously doesn't care!

You can wear it MULTIPLE days if you like!:)

I even wear one for Walt when I am at WDW on his Birthday!:)

They have "I'm Celebrating" buttons so you can pretty much use any excuse to get one of those. Just have an answer ready when people ask you what you're celebrating. It can be anything from "I'm through with chemo!" to "I'm on vacation!"

We got a ton of free cupcakes when we wore buttons for our 25th anniversary but on other trips we have just gotten loads of well-wishes from CM's and other guests. It's still a lot of fun.

You'll see lots and lots of other people wearing buttons, so it makes sense not to expect any special pixie dust. Which makes it all the more special when it happens, right?

I have to ask, does customer service have the sharpie or did you bring your own? Thanks

I went six years ago for my birthday and got a new Birthday button each morning from the hotel! I also found and bought 'Happy Birthday' Mickey ears online, and wore it every day of the trip. It wasn't an official Disney hat, but all the CMs commented on it!

I got a little bit of extra magic:

* I had my name sewn onto it in MK and the case of the store sang Happy Birthday to me backwards :)

* We had dinner at Sci-Fi and I got a free dessert and a certificate of some sort

* We had breakfast at CP and I got a free cupcake

I'm not normally one to like extra attention, but it was my birthday trip (and the week of my actual birthday) and I figured if I can't be goofy at WDW, where else could I?

DBF and I are going in September and it will be his first time and our 2yr Anniversary. I'm trying to convince him to wear the buttons!

I've been debating getting buttons for my 3 children, never have b4. This trip will start Nov 30th. My DD12 will have turned 13 Nov 6th, she'll be a teen! I feel a button for her is a must.
DS10 will turn 11 Sept 29th, so I don't feel comfortable with him wearing a Birthday button, so I may figure something else out, unless he wants to skip.
DS2 will turn 3 Jan 24th, so again, a bit of time in between, BUT, also his first trip! :yay:
My DD19's BF is coming along, his first trip ever! Gonna try to get him to wear a button, just bcuz the thought of this 6 ft 5 in 19 year old wearing a Dis button makes me laugh. :)

Where do you get the buttons? I am not excited about spending touring time in a line for buttons. ;)

OP, I see nothing wrong with your buttons, get em all!!!!! :cheer2:

Interesting thread...In that it got me thinking..My youngest was sad we wouldn't be there for his birthday - missing it by 2 days...It didn't even occur to me to let him get a button the first day we were there anyways...That will totally make his day!! He loved watching his dad get all the birthday wishes last year.

get the buttons - wear the buttons.

It's both your anniversary and your first time!

I've been wondering about buttons! Our first trip to WDW is May 12-16 with my daughter turning 4 on the 15th. Glad to know we can all get buttons! We can get them at the front desk of our resort right? Will they give us one on the 12th, even if her birthday is 3days later?

Yes and yes.:)

Disney doesn't CARE if you get a Button and it is not the ACTUAL day!:)

You are still CELEBRATING your Birthday and they will still wish you Happy Birthday!:)

They realize not everyone can be at WDW on their ACTUAL Birthday.:)

I have to ask, does customer service have the sharpie or did you bring your own? Thanks

The Cast Members at the Resorts' Front Desks and the Guest Relations locations at the Parks have Sharpies and will do the Buttons for you if you like.:)

They are really good at it.:)

We are going to WDW in May - My daughter turned 10 in January but Mom wanted to take us in May so this is her Birthday gift from my mom- soooo Shes going to wear a button! its not her actual birthday but its her birthday celebration! I also got her a Cinderella Slipper Dessert at the GF all lined up and it says "Happy 10th Birthday Elizabeth" because that is what we are celebrating :) she didn't get any other gifts for her birthday this is her gift - she got to open a gift card from me (her spending money) and a special card from Grandma with the gift trip in it :)

I'm a little...surprised that so many grown adults want so much attention.

I grew up an only child. ;) Besides haven't you ever wanted to feel a little special? Even if its only well wishes? It's not a feeling just for kids! Even if it is a little childish, being an adult is boring sometimes. For lots of people, Disney is the ONLY place they get to relive their childhood, and thats what is so awesome. I never got to go to Disney World as a kid, neither did my DBF so we get pretend we are again, even for a little. :thumbsup2

This is awesome! My parents did this for me for my 11th birthday to go to Chicago to go to American Girl Place (only one in the world at the time!) and honestly it is one of my favorite birthdays to date! Next to the one the following year when they took me to D.C and New York. :) Creating memories is the best way to spend a birthday if you ask me!

Exactly.:)

WDW is a place where Adults can wear Birthday Buttons as wells as Mouse and Dog Ears on their head and not feel the least bit "strange"!:)

It is a Magical place for "the young and the young at heart"!:)
