Bush was right

We have liberated no one! Please plug in your TV. You're like Bush who didn't see the debacle in New Orleans or didn't know the Ports were being sold out to The UAE till he saw it on TV! Please, put ON your television. Iraq IS a debacle!!!!!!!!!

More terrorists stirring the pot over there. We're in the right place.

We, the allies, and the Iraqi people will prevail.

I'll be so happy to see the back of GWB's head as he leaves, I'd vote for Nixon if I had to!

Sadaam invaded Kuwait and we drove him out. Then we went home which was the correct action. Recently, he has invaded no one and we still attacked. This is another case of apples and oranges IMO.

Saddam chose his fate by 1) failing to disclose his WMD, 2) his ongoing choice to support terrorists 3) eroding sanctions thru bribes and 4) destroying his people and his country.

I'm glad he's no longer in power. I will not defend him.

No one's defending him as far as I know. He doesn't deserve that.

However, truth be told, 1) there is still no proof of WMD, 2) other countries such as Syria seem to be far more supportive of terrorists than Saddam ever was, 3) the bribes are only innuendo and 4) we don't normally run in and unseat evil rulers. So, your arguments are as weak as usual IMO. :confused3

Not hoping, predicting. Predicting Civil War!

1) Not our job to prove, it was Saddam's to disclose. He did NOT cooperate.
2) We can get Syria next if you want.
3) The bribes are NOT just innuendo as the "oil for food" investigation has determined.
4) I'm still glad we unseated an evil ruler. What ever happened to "remember the Holacaust"?

Your optimism is cute and all but out of keeping with modern day common sense.

Eventually, Iraq will settle down. It may take a civil war to clear the air, but it will settle. No-one wants a civil war (save a bunch of the Iraqis) but it may now be labelled as an eventuality rather than as a possibility. I hope it doesn't happen.

As for more terrorists over there, I'd have to agree. What better cause to have than getting an invading force to leave? We've promoted terrorism. Nice. Iraq may bot be the terrorist hotbed that some places are, but it is now very infested.

Saddam said he didn't have any WMDs. The UN agreed. America and Britain disagreed. Surprise, surprise, no WMDs!

Besides, you do have a responsibility to research properly before declaring war. If you didn't then I could declare war on you because you ate too many pies, regardless of how many pies you actually eat.

There - a pie analogy. Should make it a leetle easier for your brain to digest. Like cookies.

Why did you choose Iraq over Syria in the first place? Or Darfur? Are they not good enough to declare war on?

Some people probably took bribes, just as any political figure might. It was no greater than in any country you care to name, including ours. The trick is to manage it and keep it at bay.

I'm glad Saddam's gone, although I will miss his moustache. The comparison to the Great Wars is insulting to those who went through those evil things - Iraq isn't even on the same planet.

But again, these points are purely diversionary. No matter how much you hate us, you can't annex sentiments to us. We, liberals, think Saddam was bad. We don't want civil war. We don't want our troops to suffer.

No matter how hard you try to affix these ridiculous opinions to us it ain't gonna work. We oppose the war and that's final. Gross misplacement of troops, falsified evidence, promotion of terrorist causes, loss of life, yadda yadda yadda.

What WMD?

We gave people a reason to turn terrorist (great).

Sanctions, according to the USA, were a "success".

His humanitarian crimes were great, but not as great as many hotspots on the planet. Why attack the lesser of two evils?

No-on supports Saddam save for a chunk of the Iraqi people who keep on blowing our troops up. Maybe you would see this if you just removed the blinkers and emerged from the cloud of hate that you emit.

We're fighting terrorism, not promoting it. We can't get them to leave our planet (or put down their arms) by just ignoring them.

Iraq has a much better future without being under Saddam's brutal, terrorist-supporting regime, and the world has a much better future with Saddam out of power.

"Some people probably took bribes" followed by the "it happens" defense. Sad :sad2: as was the rest of the arguments.

And a yadda, yadda, yadda, to you too.

Fail!

Everybody, come quick! This is the best that Joe can do! He didn't even provide a counter argument! Time to score some wins :teeth:

Rich, Since you're such a grammar freak, I take offense to your use of past and present tense in the pie story. Please pick one and go with it.

Same thing for your bribe line. "Probably took" is a lot different than "might". Unless you really mean to say that "any political figure probably took" also.

Please try to address these issues.

If this is a victory for you, well, you have very low standards. No wonder your voice is not one that has a message worth being heard.

You sir have completely failed. I know , you're used to it and I trust you won't take it to hard.

Ooh, this thread is now a grammar competition! Don't I see a sentence segment rather than a complete sentence in your post? Now, it's your turn. ;)

Richie took great pleasure in pointing out a mistake I made earlier. That was so much more constructive than dealing with the issues, I thought I would return the favor. Thanks for noticing though.

TCPluto; you have an interesting track record in this thread. At this point, you've posted 25 times, and only one of those posts (#96) was an attempt to advance the discussion. The other 24 were personal attacks on other posters, name calling, grammatical corrections and one misinterpretation of another post.

Your history on this particular thread would lead one to believe that you are either incapable or unwilling to debate on the merits of the facts alone.

Just an observation....

Well, it's a bit of a non issue. The past and the present constitute either an active or a past event, whilst the future tense implies a deep possibility.

It operates with politicians in a machine like fashion. Why? Because it's out with the old and cheated by the new, no matter who it is in power these days.

That and the fact that my grammar is abysmal ;) I do try though and expect fellow posters (such as yourself) to make the same effort.

:rotfl: You crack me up!

It's not a victory at all - it's an observation. Your search for conflict can't win, nor can your hatred towards fellow man. Your infantile attempt at debating has, again, failed.

Still...
