Bush was right

I guess I was referring to your remark about Nazi literature. I have no idea what you've been reading, or reading into, to make such a wild statement.

I don't hate you guys. I feel compassion for you.
I was referring to that Adam's Apple bearing bastion of right wing lunacy, Ms. Anne "Don't Call Me George" Coulter. The "woman" is a best selling author, and does nothing but spew hatred towards anybody with the audacity to disagree with "her" fascist views. Views - I might add - shared by many of you on the extreme right of the political spectrum.

Save your condescending compassion for someone that needs it. Like, perhaps, the tens of thousands of United States military members that have come home either on stretchers or in boxes from your war of choice.

I really wish I could say that this image had been photoshopped, but unfortunately not. Yes, that's right...the new talking point from the right will be that civil war in Iraq is a good thing. :lmao:

You'd think they would be nauseous from all that spinning.

No one is saying anyone loves war. Sometimes, like now, it is and was necessary.
Just curious, are you saying you believe that in March 2003, war in Iraq was necessary. And where do you believe war is necessary in March 2006 - in Iran? North Korea? Syria? Pakistan? Sudan? China?

I think it is clearly your fault for not providing your crystal ball revelations before this started. From the comfort of your couch, you simply have all of the answers. Who would have thunk it? Not me...

I wasn't on the couch. I was on the bus to Washington DC along with a half a million other people trying to stop this attack. I was in Union Square Park. I was in Central Park. I was on the phone calling my Congress people and Senators voicing my oppostion to this slaughter. I was on the White House comment line. Where were you? Signing up to join the military I hope!

What is it with these comments about doing something from the safety of your courch? Aren't the Right wingers doing the same thing?

Also, why is Sadaam so often compared to Hitler? Can we say apples and oranges?

And that is all you can do. They are so blinded by their hatred of the president that they wish for failure. It really is sad.

I don't hate the President, Dawn. I hate some (probably most) of the things he has done. Here's a comparison that is probably close to the truth and maybe you can relate to; I feel about, and respect, George Bush exactly the way you felt about, and respected, Bill Clinton when he was in office. Maybe that will give you an idea how I (of course I can't speak for others) feel. I'm sure you don't really "hate" Bill Clinton, so maybe this comparison will make sense to you.

You’re right Dawn. It was sad – about 4 years ago. There are always those who are going to root for the failure of others even if that failure ends up hurting them as well.

But those days are long gone. Bush has failed so often and so consistently, even his worst critics wouldn’t begrudge him the occasional success. In the year 2006 it is just being pragmatic to expect failure out of our President. Maybe that isn’t entirely fair, but Bush has had to work hard to earn this distinction.

No President in recent times (Carter and Nixon included) has failed so spectacularly. It really is mind boggling when you examine Bush’s record. He has made me embarrassed to be a Republican. You know things are bad when William F. Buckley (father of modern American conservatism and editor of the National Review) abandons you.

Goodness knows that Buckley and many other prominent conservatives do not take any pleasure in another Bush failure. But at some point, intellectual honesty forces us to recognize these failures and comment on them objectively. Brutally honest introspection has always one of the core conservative values. I think its time for conservatives to stop protecting their partisan positions and rediscover why this county needs conservative values - now more than ever. We need to stop shrinking away from what is painfully obvious to everyone else. It doesn’t matter what Karl Rove directs Fox News to report. It is never wrong to call a failure by it proper name: failure.

Personally, I hope that our next administration, from whatever party, will clean up the mess that we're in now. I don't see that as wishing for failure of any kind. I'm just looking forward to the day when George W Bush moves to Crawford permanently.

This again. Get a new playbook. How many more times are you going to dig up this talking point?

Get a clue. Bush isn't succeeding and he isn't going to succeed because he's a corrupt incompetent. You can dream all you want and pump up this sack of crap as the greatest leader since Julius Caeser, but the fact is you can put lipstick on a pig, call it Monique, but it is still a pig. And Bush is an incompetent.

But you can always dream and fantasize. What the hell............what else do you have?

Here's a fresh idea: Maybe you need a theme song. Yanno, FDR had "Happy Days are Here Again". Clinton had "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow. Here's a new theme song for the Republicans: Dusty Springfield's "Wishing and Hoping".

Try singing "Wishing and Hoping" while clicking your heels. Maybe you'll end up with a real president. :lmao:

Irony alert!

Dawn accuses left wing of hate and desire for failure based on political blindness.

International polls indicate that the war was a "mistake" that has increased world wide terrorism.

Methinks the rabid right is the blinded, hate filled force - the public doesn't agree with them yet they still can't see it.

Listen to the people of the world, Dawn - don't blank them out out of arrogance. Doing so is akin to kicking a puppy for sitting on command.

Then man oh man our wishes have been granted and then some. The war in Iraq is a debacle, so is Bush's presidency.

The war in Iraq is not a debacle. Praise God for our brave troops and allies and the strong Iraqi people.

We are successfully killing terrorists and we have liberated over 25 million Iraqi's. No one said the war on terror would be easy, but progress is being made.

Bush was right. We know it now and history will confirm it. :sunny:

(Many here will not like the 2008 Republican President either.)

Yes -- apples and oranges. We didn't wait until Saddam had killed millions of people like the appeasers in Europe did with Hitler. ("Peace in our time")

We have liberated no one! Please plug in your TV. You're like Bush who didn't see the debacle in New Orleans or didn't know the Ports were being sold out to The UAE till he saw it on TV! Please, put ON your television. Iraq IS a debacle!!!!!!!!!

George Bush and in the past, you. The threads are now long gone, but the sentiment remains.

The UN knew that - America and Britain were dead wrong.

I blame Saddam for his deeds and ourselves for our deeds. We are not saints and made dreadful, dreadful mistakes.

Bush said there were WMDs. He even used the term "absolutely" when questioned about the presence. No WMDs were found.

How on earth could history judge that blunder as being a correct statement?

Praise God for the United Nations and worldwide democracy; some may spit at it but I for one praise it. History will show that the minority was right.

Rich::

Yeah, the UN "knew". Thank you Saddam for the bribes; we know we can trust you now. Saddam, baby, you don't know where your WMD went, Syria maybe?, Don't worry about it. Say hello to Mr. Galloway for us. Love and kisses.

I recommend we bulldoze the UN and put in some condos. Then at least the land would be a source of income instead of being -- 1) a black hole for US funding, 2) an income source for terrorist supporters 3) a sex source for many UN peacekeepers, and 4) a forum for anti-Semitism.

Saddam invaded Kuwait and we drove him out. Then we went home which was the correct action. Recently, he has invaded no one and we still attacked. This is another case of apples and oranges IMO.
