I got into this chat. Debated with two people for about 3 hours over Bush and Kerry and it amazes me how much who did not think alike on almost every topic. I dont see how people want Kerry to pull our troops out. I mean, we should finish what we started and if we pulled them out i think we could be in for more danger. The people I argued with that it was bets for them to come out and just to leave them alone.

I hope Bush wins. I don't want our troops out.

What do you all think?

I hope Bush wins, too.

While I would love to see our troops out of there, I don't think that would be a smart move right now. It would be too easy for another country to move in and set up housekeeping with the Iraqi government in the state it's in.

Thanks for your opinion!:)

Gee, how clever!

I agree that it would be dangerous to pull our troops out. I think, if Kerry wins (OMG--NO!!!!!!!), he actually would probably NOT pull our troops out. If a civil war ensued, he'd lose in the next election, definitely.

However, that said, what I think we recognize and like about the present administration is that he is proactive. (This is where I'm likely to get flamed with sarcastic comments that will twist that one statement into many evil meanings.) Or, maybe ignored!

Just for the record Kendra....

If you think you're fooling anyone with your constant backdoor jabs, you're not.

Well, that's probably not entirely true, but just so you'll know, there are plenty of folks on this board who aren't falling for you're crap and I'm one of them.

You want to continue this, we will.

Gee, how clever!

And that comment is equally clever. Do you ever just post without insulting someone?

And for those of you who think I'm being mean to poor little Kendra...check her posts. She never fails to include a little hidden message directed my way. It's beginning to have the appearances of stalking.

I never did mind about the little things.

I don't think Kerry will pull the troops out. He has made no indication that I've seen that he will do so.

Back on topic...

I agree, Kerry has made it very clear he has no intentions of pulling our troops out. I actually haven't heard many people say they want them withdrawn, at least not immediately.

I wish they had never gone in, but they can't come out now.

Although, I have serious doubts that Iraq will ever succeed as a democracy. I have a feeling no matter how long we stay, once we're gone it will go right back to what it was before.

Still, just for credibilities sake, we have to stay at least until we have the appearance of having actually done what we said we were going to do.

While I miss my DH and hope he comes home soon, I have to say that I believe in what he is doing in Iraq. I keep thinking of how I would feel in an Iraqi woman's shoes and had to watch my husband possibly killed for having thoughts that differed from someone elses, or my children raped or murdered to force my complience in something I disagreed with. I would hate to feel that a wrong word or heck even a look could get my entire family killed after the days of torture that would come first. As you can tell, I am proud that my DH is attempting to do some good over there and I hope our troops are able to finish what was started. We are voting for Bush and my DH supports his Commander-in-Chief 100%. As for Kerry, he had made "promises" to bring our troops home, and the troops I personally have spoken too want to stay and continue what they are doing. I know alot of people disagree and I think that is great. Even if you disagree with the war, please support the troops fighting to ensure you won't be that Iraqi woman.

I live in Kerry's MA and trust me I seriously wonder if he will carry his own state. He has done NOTHING in the senate and missed the majority of meetings. He has attened only 10 out of 49!! I have grown up with his face plastered to the TV. First when he was leader of Viet Nam Vets agaisnt the war and then various other photo op's. HOw is it that he had a camera crew with him so much when he was in Viet Nam?? He has tried to fit the persona of JFK. He changes to fit the scenery or the situation. AS much as Mass has been a democratic state in the past I seriously doubt he will receive the support of his constituents.

If Theresa (tay-ray-sa) keeps opening her mouth not to worry, she will put the frosting on the cake.

Kerry did not have a camera crew with him in Vietnam. . where do you people get this crap???

As suggested peachgirl, I'm looking for Bush supporters who are being disrespectful of Kerry or his supporters. I read Kendra's post 3 times and I swear I don't see her hidden message to you. It must be very well hidden. Perhaps there is personal history between you or I'm obtuse or both, lol. I've read many of Kendra's posts. To be honest, she is a more staunch supporter of Bush than I am and sometimes there are tangents I'm lost on but the thing that stands out to me is that she is consistently pro Bush as opposed to anti-Kerry. She has a Bush/Cheney tag in her posts; she does not have any anti-Kerry tags in her signature line.

I am all for everyone playing nice and being respectful regardless of whether the person chooses to vote for Bush, Kerry, Mickey Mouse, or Monty Dog.

Every poll I've seen has Kerry at 55% to 60% with Bush getting no more than 30% -31%.

The only way Bush takes MA is if Kerry folds his tent up and goes home. Even then, I doubt the voters would go Bush.

If Theresa (tay-ray-sa)

Care to explain that????

I didn't see the "home" video that was shown at the DNC but wasn't it a reenactment that was filmed in '68? I also heard there some Steven Speilberg "Private Ryan" creativity added to it.

That's ok, you don't need to since it doesn't involve you. I wasn't looking for support or agreement with me on this one.

It is what it is and she and I both know what's going on. Whether anyone else does or not does not matter. Perhaps I shouldn't have invited anyone to read her posts. I was just trying to avoid the predictable defend her/defend me posts that always follow this stuff.

Elwood,

The accusation that Kerry had a "camera crew" with him or that the film he took while in Vietnam included "faked comabat scenes" was first reported by the Boston Globe a couple years back and then the discredited story was dredged up by Drudge, passed on by Linthead and his Clones, and now is taken as fact by many. .

But it's crap.

A NY Times reporter named Bill Keller used the bogus info in a column, and then Kerry challenged him to sit down with him and watch the entire footage. . here's Keller's take on what he saw:

For the next 40 minutes, Mr. Kerry and I
fast-forwarded through silent, washed-out-color
footage of mangrove-choked rivers, sleepy villages and
sailors skinny-dipping ? disturbingly interrupted on
occasion by a Vietcong corpse or one of Mr. Kerry's
crewmen torching a thatched hut during a
search-and-destroy mission.

The first thing to be said is that the senator's
movies are not self-aggrandizing. Mr. Kerry is hardly
in the film, and never strikes so much as a heroic
pose. These are the souvenirs of a 25-year-old guy
sent to an exotic place on an otherworldly mission,
who bought an 8-millimeter camera in the PX and shot a
few hours of travelogue, most of it pretty boring if
you didn't live through it.

Full Story

I didn't watch the film that was made for the DNC either so I can't comment on it. . but to say Kerry had a film crew with him or that he re-enacted battle scenes in the film he brought home is untrue.

I wish someone would pull some troops from Iraq or anywhere
else for that matter and go after the real SOB who was behind
9/11.

I know Sadaam was a bad guy, but there are lots of bad guys
in the world. Only one was responsible though for 9/11, and
he's still out there.

I also agree, democracy taking hold in Iraq is a long shot at
best, another miscalculation from this administration.

Right on Mudhen. . well said! :)

Whine, whine, whine ............ (I'm giving peachgirl credit for these words, I learned them from her).
