We are splitting our stay between these two resorts next month. My question is : Are the bunk beds large enough for a 5'2" adult to be comfrtable? My 8 year old would love the bunk beds but that would mean my mother would have to sleep in the bottom bunk. Thanks

My DD who is 24 loves to sleep in the bunk beds and she finds them to be very comfortable. She is 5 feet. My DS is 5'8 will sleep in them but finds a queen bed to be more comfortable.

I had two boys staying in the bunks last July. One was 5.5 at the time the other over six feet. Neither one had any complaints at all!

We had our 5'2 daughter and her 5'6 friend in them at AKL last year, and they were fine.

when we went to the akl last oct we were given a free upgrade with savannah view but, when we got there we were given a bunkbead room. probably because they saw that my brother was 12. well he's already soooo tall towers over me.(5'3) so we didnt want to loose our view so i slept in the bunk. (im 28) i was comfortable. no problems at all.

Just got to warn you to be prepared - sometimes you may not get your requests. I asked for bunk beds on my trip to AKL four weeks ago, and I made the request when we booked the room (a pool view). But alas, when we checked in, they had none available. We made do with our two queens, but bunks would have been much better!

Of course, maybe I am the only one ever to NOT get bunk beds, who knows! :teeth:

My family stayed there for 2 days in April and we had a deluxe pool view room with bunk beds. I knew someone would ask how long the bunk beds were and how big they are. So I layed in one myself and I'm 6''ft and found them too short for me. I could have slept in one if I had no other choice but I would have had to bend my knees a little. I say they would just fit a person who was 5"9 but that's as tall as I would go on them. Width wise they were fine. I see no problem for a teen or kid 5"9 or shorter.

I agree. I am 6'1" and I took a nap in one. I had to lay on my side and bend my knees a little.

THey were awesome for DD8 and DD5. A 5'2" mother will sleep in the bottom bunk just fine!

I am hoping for bunks at WL in two weeks. We have standard view booked and another poster mentioned standards don't have bunk beds. I hope that poster was wrong.

5'2'' will not be a problem. But make sure she doesnot have a problem sleeping on a very firm mattress. The mattress on our bunk bed was rock hard.

Duds,

I have a standard view booked for August 12-20. I have also requested
bunkbeds. I read somewhere that they didn't have them for the std view
so I called WL and they said they did.

I so hope we get them on our trip.

we have a reservation the 12- 17 and also requested bunk bed rooms at the standard rate and they never mentioned they didnt have them. :cool1:

I think the bunk beds are twins, which gives you a bit more space than two queens.
