We have small children (3 and 5) and want to know if DL will allow us to bring in snacks (raisins, for example) and bottled water into the park. What are the rules about bringing in outside food/beverages? ::MickeyMo

You are allowed to bring in food and drinks. I don't know if packing a whole picnic lunch with sodas and such would be frowned on, but we have always brought water, different snack like trail mix, candies, fruit and never had a problem. I have also found that those little packages of Crystal Light (Wal-Mart brand is great too) mixes easily with a bottle of water and saves a ton on drink costs on the parks!

We have gone 4 times in the last 3 years and have 4 children. We have always packed a large backpack with water, lots of snacks, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, sodas, juice boxes, etc. Never had any problem bringing them in. Of course, it does take a little extra time getting through the security and is pretty heavy for the first couple of hours, but well worth it. Just the water alone could save you $30 a day. Sometimes we go out to Tom Sawyers Island to have lunch, other times any old picnic bench will do. At first, my husband felt uncomfortable bringing in food. However, after he saw what lunch would have cost, he was happy! LOL. We do have a family policy that we get to buy one snack during the day. Who doesn't deserve a frozen banana here or there??

It's true, you can bring food and drinks in. Last month we bought smoothies at Jamba Juice in DTD and walked through security and into the parks with them in our hands. We always bring snacks - nuts, granola bars and such. No one ever bats an eye.

Have a wonderful vacation :flower: :flower: :flower:

What is normally a no-no is anything in a can or glass bottle. Sandwiches, snacks and plastic container are usually ok. Last time DW & I brought our own salad dressing (on Weight Watchers) and had snacks & juice for DS.

There's a very nice picnic area just outside the exit gates of DL near the guest services window. It's a lot quieter there than inside the park so I find it a nice respite from the busyness of the park. There are also lockers available in the picnic area so you could store your lunch there if you'd like.

The above posts are correct. We always bring in water and lite snacks - granola bars, chips, cookies etc. I have never once been questioned about anything. Lately I have been bringing in a water container that holds 64 ounces of water and I freeze 1/2 of it the day before so I have cold water all day long.

It helps hold the kids throughout the day. Never brought a full lunch in though as we enjoy simple meals at the parks but the snacks are great.
