Bringing car seat on board

I plan to bring my son's infant car seat and base so we can Uber from the airport to the hotel. We plan to get to the ship using Disney ground bus transportation (so I'm assuming my son will sit on my lap?). Can I use a luggage tag for his car seat and a luggage tag for his car seat base? I don't want to have to cary them around the ship. Thanks!

Certainly you can attach a luggage tag, just be aware that checked bags/items are not handled particularly gently(yes, they just get tossed into the pile) between check in and your room.

I would not check an expensive car seat (see pictures above). There are trolley carts you can buy that car seats attach to. Then put any other carryon in the car seat.

I might recommend getting a Doona, then you can use it as the stroller and car seat for him. Just something to consider.

Infant seats don't really attach to those trolley carts like they sell for big car seats.

I would just pack in a laundry bag and stick a luggage tag on it like when we flew with one twice.

Never took a car seat on a cruise but we traveled extensively by air with a car seat. We just put it in a duffel bag and checked it as baggage. Never had an issue.

Yes you can. I have done this multiple times as my DD just turned 3. I understand the suggestions for car seat stroller combo and concern about handling of luggage but I also know that isn’t always practical. Juggling baby, stroller, car seat, base, diaper baby etc is a lot! I would recommend getting a bag to put it in. There are some cheap red airline bags on Amazon and elsewhere we use just to keep it clean.

FYI, unless your carseat is a Nuna Lite model, it will be fully safe installed without the base (just be sure to follow the instructions & check the leveling marker). There is really no need to take the base along on a trip, especially if you won't be renting a car. (Realize that when you only travel once in a particular vehicle, using the base saves no effort or time at all.)

If you’re not set on doing Uber, another option is to get a car service that provides a seat. This was what we did back in our car seat days. Then you don’t have to deal with the carrying and storing the seat on the boat.
