This happens every time a BTG thread pops up. It is NOT racism at all. We do not judge their country of origin or language, but use it as a descriptor because it is a FACT that hundreds of Brazilian Tour Groups come to WDW certain times of year. They behave in a way that is totally unique compared to any other large tour group (i.e. Pop Warner or cheerleaders).
They have a "system" that they follow because these are all organized tours by a certain limited number of tour companies. Those tour operators behave in exactly the same way, so the behavior is the same and predictable whenever a group is encountered. For instance, you will ALWAYS see the groups lined up on Main Street waiting for fireworks an hour and a half in advance. They have to entertain themselves, to the tour operator will encourage singing or chanting to keep them entertained. Ruins the time for the "regular" non-tour group folks also waiting (if they can even find a spot).
I once saw a tour operator do a call and repeat type chant one time walking from Big Thunder Mountain to Haunted Mansion. They drowned out the musicians playing in front of Diamond Horsheshoe and disrupted the street show in front of Country Bears. That's not acceptable on any level! But the tour operators want these kids to go home and say what a wonderful time they had, so the operators will do whatever they must to disrupt your personal vacation so the group has a good time.
The most we want to do on these threads is to help each other enjoy a vacation. Discussing tour group behaviors that get in the way of that enjoyment is totally acceptable. We don't call names, we're not racist. I try to help on these threads because I don't think anyone deserves to have a less than wonderful time at Disney World, and if you're going to be there when the BTGs are there, then you have to be forewarned and prepared for it.
Oh yeah, I have been to WDW in an
ECV due to severe debiliatating rheumatoid arthritis and I am pooh-sized (or "fat" as you have chosen to call me in a blatantly arrogant way). You may think I'm big, but I don't cover the entire hub in front of the castle. So shut up!
