Crockett's Tavern is at Fort Wilderness. I've read that getting around there can be a little convoluted. How would I get to CT using Disney transportation?

Where are you coming from?

If you are at MK, take the FW boat or bus. Both drop you off at the Settlement, which is where HDD, Crockett’s, and Trails End restaurants are located.

If you are at any other park or DS, take the FW bus. This will drop you off at the Outpost, at the entrance to FW. You will catch a bus to the Settlement at the Outpost.

If you are at another Disney resort, you would need to take transportation to a park or DS, then follow the above instructions. The exception to this would be WL and CR, which are on a boat route that begins operating at 3:00pm to connect with FW, and drops you off at the Settlement. There may be bus transportation between FW and WL, but we did not see it when we were there last November. Our timing could have been off.

You can also take a ride share. Lyft or Uber will drop you off at the Outpost, and you then catch a bus to the Settlement. A Minnie Van would be able to drop you at the Settlement, bypassing the Outpost.

We'd be going on a "down day" so we could be coming from just about anywhere, depending on what we're doing. I was confused by the whole Outpost/Settlement thing, but this really helps. It seems easiest to take the boat directly to the Settlement, but I'm intrigued about taking the interior bus from the Settlement to the Outpost. Thanks!

There are two interior bus routes, one through the cabins and one through the campsites, but both of them go from the Outpost to the Settlement so just get on whichever one arrives first. There were three routes, purple, orange, and yellow, but the purple route has been suspended due to the construction of the new DVC resort near FW.

Here are a couple of maps. The first has the Settlement circled in red at the top and the Outpost circled at the bottom, with the two bus routes marked. The second is a close up of the Settlement area with Crockett’s marked.

It's definitely easier and closer to get to Crockett's via boat. The boat docks are just a few hundred feet from Crockett's. The second easiest/closest would be coming over from Wilderness Lodge via bus (before the inter-resort boats are running)...the Wilderness bus goes over to the Settlement bus stop, which is about 400 feet from Crockett's.

Coming from other parks or Disney Springs, the busses will take you to the other end of Fort Wilderness - the Outpost is where the main entrance and parking is for Fort Wilderness, at the other end of the park from Settlement...so you'd bus there, then hop an internal Fort Wilderness bus, which will take time as it stops at the various cabin or campground stops on its way. Not a big deal if you're not in a rush - but I always find heading over by boat to be much better when trying to get anywhere in Settlement area, not to mention I find boat rides much more relaxing and scenic.
