Brazilian Tour Groups

I know there is a holiday in Brazil that brings the large tour groups to WDW. Does anyone know the dates for that? want to avoid them

On other threads have read that you can expect to see them in January and February which is their school break time...we have been in January several years (around Marathon weekend) and have seen them...

I've also seen them in August; perhaps they have irresponsible parents who take their kids out of school for an "educational" experience at WDW just like here in the States (j/K).

We have run into them in July & August you can spot them quickly they have a leader holding a flag, The flags we saw were all red, if you see them go the other way or a long wait is ahead

We saw them in August of 09(it may have been late July Im not 100% on that one.) They were all in adventureland during emh waiting in line for BTMRR and they were literally right in front of us in line. And they literally chanted and danced the whole time. It kinda felt like a World Cup match lol(minus my beloved vuvuzelas though)

They also come in the winter months. Much of Brazil is below the equator and it's their summer.

I believe most of the teen groups are there in January and July. However, when we were there this past Oct (about 2 1/2-3 weeks ago), I was surprised to see quite a few family tour groups. I've never noticed them there before in masses. Thankfully they were much quieter and more polite than the teen groups.

In early January (which is when we go every year) there are smaller groups, mostly families. I have not seen a large group of teen girls in January like the ones in June. We took an extra trip in June this year and they were everywhere. Very large groups of teens with not many adults. I am not a professional when it comes to BTG, just my observations.

They were there the Jan 20-25 in 2009

We see them in abundance every January, regardless of the week we pick (we rotate but go anytime after the first week of January). These are teen groups, male and female.

We saw several during the 2nd week of October this year but they were not nearly as bad as the groups we encounter in January. The age level seemed much older.

HUGE Brazilian tour groups in Mid July....in all parks...in all lines(including FP and single riders). The Poly did not have any tour groups though, thank goodness. Going back to the hotel, was a lovely break from the very crowded and very loud tour groups.

June and July are the worst. They were behaved but made the lines longer.

This is why we will not visit WDW in July or Augest again...

Always there in January when we are there. Just don't go to the attraction they are headed to, and you'll be just fine!

They are the worst June-August!!! I hate to hear that they are there in Jan. We will be going there this Jan I find this odd b/c my aunt works for Disney and never mentioned to me that they were bad in Jan???

Oh yea, they love the values as well as the cheer groups and dance teams that hit those places as well. Sorry to scare you, but I'm sure you will still have a great time.

Brazil has their summer break during our winter - I know January is one of their summer months. They have been there both times we visited in January.

They also have off some time in July and August.
